“Even as a “Project” this Hispano-Suiza exudes and elegance few cars can match.
I suppose it may be because of my affinity for Packards, but a V-12 (with the exception of that dreadful thing used in the Lincoln Zephyr) always grabs my attention. I hope we will get to see this wonderful car completed.

“My first car was a 73 4 door custom. White with black vinyl roof and bondo fenders my Dad did with chicken wire. Slant 6 with an FM converter added that also picked up TV stations. Also had a 70 340 Swinger in HEMI orange for a few years. I have a soft spot for 70’s Darts. GLWTA!”

“These cars are just great. I bought a 2024 manual on a whim last year and have zero regrets. They do it all so well. My fair weather daily drivers last summer were this Golf, a 2018 GT3 Touring, and my venerable 993. For regular use, the Golf is ~80% of the fun of the GT3 for 20% of the money. Sold the GT3 shortly thereafter just because I prefer the Golf. Will never sell the 993, though.”

“My heart skipped a beat when I saw this. My first job out of college was working for TDM in Livonia MI which later became Wheel to Wheel a prototype shop for GM’s Jon Moss. We built a 383 6spd SS with a rollcage for GM Special Vehicles to do high speed testing at MIS. I don’t think this is that car but always wondered what happened to it and many others. Great first engineering job for a young gear head.”

I’ve only once seen a cammer swap as nice as this and it was supposedly done by KK as an experimental along with one they build as a mid-engine Boss 9 (both fastback Mustangs).
What’s so clever about this is you’d never expect it. The level of street sleeper, slack jaw, dumbdoundery here is off the charts. Roll up in this anywhere and get affirming nods, then open the hood and prepare for the cult of engine worship to begin their drooling genuflections.…”

“340 vs 383 the 340 wins. Not only in a straight line but especially on a winding road. The small block with the well designed chassis corners like a sports car. To be fair, these days the restrictive 383 exhaust can be relieved with contemporary under-chassis headers and the big block can be as light as a small block with aluminum heads, intake and water pump housing. Throw in a stroker crank for 500ci and it will get interesting.

I can see both sets of floor boards, all hand controls, grips, shifter pegs and foot brake, fork lowers, crash bars, most of the case covers, and others I might not be seeing. That dual exhaust alone was probably $1k. That’s what we did to these bikes back in the day!”

“A United Airlines pilot that lived across the street from us when I was a teenager had a 12 cylinder E-Type coupe he bought new. Easy to look at and great sounds. But THIS car has all the modern goodies with no Lucas Electrics gremlins and all the modern upgrades plus a spotless and powerful Ed Pink motor. This would be the Jag I would own. “That’s legit and 100% original IMHO. Worked at a Schwinn shop as a kid and put together a few of those. A lot of people (cool kids) ditched the front fender. That’s the original seat. Those are the original pedals. This is all recollection but very clear. . They were wheelie machines and no fun whatsoever to get up a hill! An early but awesome memory! GLWTA!”
