“The Gumball Rally Cobra S/N 3243 had been stored for years until around 2013. Sitting next to it was a 289 Comp.Car. Both came back into the sunlight.

“It wasn’t every day something this cute rolled into Fort Stockton. Folks were used to pickup trucks big enough to block out the sun, not pastel-colored cars that looked like they’d been dipped in lemon pudding and whipped cream. But there it was—parked right out front of Grounds for Divorce, turning heads like a visiting movie star.

“Funny story – I was trying to find a correct new radiator cap for the TR4. I had gotten one from a British parts supplier, but it didn’t fit correctly. I grabbed my identical radiator from my project TR4 and went to the local parts stores to see what they had. Total strikeout. I went to Panda Express with TR4 radiator caps on my mind and got this fortune cookie. I immediately sent a picture of it to my wife saying “Looks like I’m getting another car!”.”

“Anyone buying an RX7 that’s been sitting for a long time should assume it needs apex seals unless proven otherwise. The dash and radio are lit up in some pics, so the car has electrical power. I’m guessing lack of power is the result of a few horses escaping the engine bay.
This FD is quite tempting. I have a few solutions for lack of power sitting in the corner of the shop ;)”

“I own a higher mileage AZ-1 just like this. It is awesome. Obviously the new owner will likely keep this stock, but upgrading the suspension to the Navic coilovers and adding a stiffer roll bar front and back dramatically changed the handling. It went from leaning SUV in the corners to go-kart. Just my 2 cents.”

I’m excited to share my Wagon Queen Family Truckster re-creation with the Bring a Trailer community. This project represents hundreds of hours of work to capture all the quirky details of the Griswold family’s iconic road trip car from National Lampoon’s Vacation.

“I owned one exactly like this, even the same color. For anyone on the fence, trying to decide if it’s right for you, let me offer my perspective. This is an excellent machine with so many things going for it. These are comfortable, versatile, very capable, very reliable, easy to ride, and easy to maintain. They are NOT sporty, quick, agile, exhilarating, or sexy. They are more like a tractor than a sports car. But that would be a German tractor, which means excellent engineering. (Think…”

We kept a fleet of 6-8 Yugos as service loaners. We also had a fleet of Mazda 323’s. But when those were all spoken for – the customer ended up with a Yugo.
That is, unless the customer complained really loud – then I got sent to the used car lot down the road to grab an Audi or something similar for them to drive.
I could tell a lot about a person when they complained about the Yugo. On one hand, I understood they paid a lot…”

“Nobody in Fort Stockton ever knew exactly where Harold and Eleanor Whitcomb were headed when they left, and after a while they stopped asking. It had become as dependable as church bells and the Dairy Twin closing at nine. Every Sunday, sometime after lunch, the old Mercury wagon would ease out of their driveway with a picnic basket tucked behind the front seat and Harold’s weathered county highway map folded neatly beside him. They never seemed to have a destination. Yet when they returned,…”

It was SO much fun to drive. It fit two bikes in the back with the seats up. Storage was best. I’ve not had a similar size car since that was as enjoyable. The Fiesta ST is a close second but the FIT had better (less) torque steer when burning the tires in the wet. It would get rubber past 2nd gear on moist roads.
