“I had to chime in as this brought back memories. My dad had one with factory 4 speed and (at least) front disc brakes. Can’t remember the rears. Factory silver with a vinyl roof. That 4 speed was a LONG throw so it took a while to get there. A lot of axle hop. I always thought it would make a great sleeper hotrod with a bit of engine & suspension work. I had no idea how rare the factory options were. Who knew?”

A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:

“A great car with a great story! I’m often surprised how wing cars are optioned. For example, the C-21 Center front-seat cushion and folding armrest with column automatic, seen here. Deluxe wheel covers? I guess I assume it’s a class of car that would naturally be more loaded up.
Of course their existence as the manufacturers were pushing the limits of NASCAR homologation rules ensures they are inherently fascinating. Producing them had nothing to do with marketing them for profit.…”

“Beautiful Square body! I have had 4 over the last 4 decades and have an 85 GMC Sierra Classic 3500 that is a Fall Guy replica. These trucks are imo the best trucks ever made. Someone will be getting a beautiful example and it being the first year of production is even a nicer feature. GLWTA👌👌👌”

“@64_S1 Not only can you drive this back home to the Midwest, you SHOULD! As one who has driven my S2 Elan coast to coast and border to border, I highly recommend it, with a couple of caveats. First, as you noted, install the side windows. Even with the top down it will keep the wind from beating you up. Then, when you put the top up, only if needed for major rain of course, you will stay relatively dry.
Second, do not use interstate highways unless there is no reasonable alternative. As the…”

Prior to joining Mohr Imports, I had the privilege of running GTO Engineering’s Los Angeles operation for several years and visited both the GTO House and restoration facility on multiple occasions.
I can’t say enough positive things about the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion that goes into these cars. Having had the opportunity to work alongside both…”

“Such great trucks, went a decade with minimal styling updates. And the Vortec Chevy 454 is a LEGEND! And if it is really as clean as it appears, someone is going to get an awesome ride. Only thing it is missing from my ideal 3/4 Suburban build sheet would be barn doors in back, but the tailgate is what makes pregaming work too.”

“Great spot on the 2022 gearbox oil typo.
Our technicians during that time and during 2023 and 2021 records are all former trained factory Lamborghini guys. You can look them up!
As you can see both Motul and Lucas gear oil was used in 2021 and 2023, so I am very confident this is a “ShopWare” typo.
Our software system in the shop was very clunky until recently.
The former owner was very fussy, this is one of the best 1996-1997 Diablo Roadster examples we have seen. The car was…”
