“These cars were so ahead of their time. Supercharged, intercooled, 4 wheel discs with ABS, IRS with adaptive damping, even pneumatic adjustable side bolsters. I still have my 35th anniversary 5 speed version, and it remains a pleasure to drive unlike most crude live axle domestics of the era.”

“It’s incredible to see the one-year only chromed exhaust extensions! They were unique to 1975 Formulas and 400-powered Trans Ams.
For record, the chromed splitters, which were introduced on the 1974 GTO were included with the Trans Am’s “455 HO” package introduced in midyear 1975 and used throughout the remainder of the 1970s and into the 1980s.”

But once it spooled up, it was pretty impressive. “When I was about 12 years old, my Mom’s cousin had one of these. He would load me, my brother, and two other younger cousins in the back with the jumper seats in the closed position. As he fishtailed down the road, the four of us would slide around on that metal flooring – back and forth, back and forth smashing into each other and the sides. Laughing all the way!!!!!!!! “There are a total of 9 known carbon fiber bodied CSX Cobras out of the 10 planned (the registry incorrectly lists 7) and CSX4000R is incorrectly entered without mention of the carbon body. I am a lucky to own one of those 9 carbon Cobras.
