“I knew this was a California car as soon as I saw the chrome wheels. In the 90s, my uncle, who was a doctor in Newport Beach, bought this exact same spec. As a kid who was used to being toted around in spartan Volvos, I thought it was the fanciest car I had ever sat in.
FWIW early 1UZ-FEs are non-interference engines so timing belt failure (which is rare) is not necessarily catastrophic.”

“My Dad was a district service manager for GM in the 90s and early 2000’s and as a part of that we would get a new demo car to drive every couple mos. After the dismal launch of the Aztec in 2000, GM wanted to get make the best out of a bad situation so they gave them to every service manager in the country to “get the word out”.
When I turned 16 and got my license, we got the Aztek. Bright yellow if I recall correctly, and rather than the usual 3 mos cycle, we had it for a full 7 mos.…”

“There have been a lot of good comments on cooling and radiators.
My Griffith was upgraded with all of the mentioned modifications but nothing worked until I installed a chin spoiler under the radiator. All cars today have chin spoilers, for a reason.
Regarding cabin temperatures, my headers are ceramic coated and there is proper insulation under the carpet, keeping me cool as a cucumber, even on the hottest days.
This is all for my Griffith but a 2500M is basically the same only…”

“Every time I get off of mine, I think to myself what a great machine it is! These also look so much better than the brand new RT, at least to my eye. For prospective buyers, it’s worth knowing that BMW pays for driveshaft service every 12,000 miles, with replacement at their cost somewhere in the 36,000 mile range. It might take some time for this low mileage example to get there, but knowing they service it free is added peace of mind. I’m so impressed by my 2015.”

“As a retired Aerospace Engine-nerd, I can relate to this car and the OCD of the prior owners/family. This one won’t be restored nor turned for profit, but it will be driven in the desert southwest and turn over 100,000 miles within a year or so. I drive ’em, I don’t show them or brag about them. Enjoy your cars folks! We ain’t gettin’ any younger, time goes so quickly.

“Awesome car. I love pic 149 because it tells a story of what likely happened to most radio delete Camaros in the early 80s when these cars were cheap enough to be purchased by teenagers who would not be caught dead in a car with no tunes. I can see the kid with his dad’s hacksaw, tin snips and pliers lying on his back in that trunk going to town. A couple hours later, with his brand new Jensen Tri-Axials installed, he’s cruising around town with tunes blaring. Radio delete option be damned!!”

“Dave the owner of this car, hosted the Chicago chapter of the Alfa Club at his shop, The Giulietta Studio, last weekend for our annual swap meet. I got to see this car in person, and all I can say is WOWW!! This car is spectacular. Down to details like proper hose clamps, it’s just done so nicely and correctly. Not that you’ll need it, but GLWTA!”

“This was the first car I ever bought new from a dealer when I was 20. I was driving a beat up old Ford F150 with bad linkage that I had bought for $150. The dealer offered a $5k of discount for anything you could push pull or drag in, so the Ford made his last journey.
