Pakistani hostages make desperate appeal after 100…

Pakistani crew members held by Somali pirates have made another emotional appeal for government help.

The hostages have been in captivity for more than 100 days. They are seeking urgent action for their release.

The crew members are aboard the MT Honour 25. The Palau-flagged oil tanker was hijacked by armed pirates off the coast of Puntland, Somalia, on April 21.

The vessel was carrying between 17 and 19 crew members. Ten of them are Pakistani nationals. Seven Indonesians, an Indian and a Sri Lankan are also among those being held.

In newly released video messages, several hostages appeared weak and unwell. They appealed to the Pakistani government to intervene.

Yasir Khan, one of the Pakistani hostages, said several crew members had fallen ill. He said they were facing difficulties in obtaining medicines.

Khan urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate action. He also appealed to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Maritime Affairs Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.

He asked the authorities to secure their release before their health situation became more serious.

Khan also appealed to Jamaat-i-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman. He requested him to continue efforts for the hostages.

Another hostage, Hussain Yousuf, said more than 100 days had passed since their capture.

He said the crew still had no clear information about when they would be released.

Yousuf appealed to the prime minister and Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir to intervene.

He warned that further delays could lead to serious consequences.

The crew has released several messages since the hijacking. In previous appeals, the hostages reported shortages of food, clean water and medicines.

Their deteriorating condition has increased concerns among their families.

The pirates have reportedly demanded a ransom of around $3 million. However, no confirmed breakthrough has been reported in negotiations.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the government was closely monitoring the situation.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said several government departments were involved in efforts to secure the crew’s release.

The process includes the Ministry of Human Rights, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and other relevant agencies.

Andrabi said the case was particularly difficult because the hostages were being held in an autonomous region of Somalia.

He said local tribal structures and influential figures had also complicated negotiations with the pirates.

Pakistan, he added, remained in contact with the Somali government and relevant authorities. It was also coordinating with international organisations involved in the matter.

The Foreign Office expressed sympathy with the families of the hostages. It said their concerns were understood and that the case remained a priority.

The government said all possible efforts were being made to secure the crew’s release and bring them home safely.

The case has also been complicated by uncertainty surrounding the ownership of the tanker.

Questions remain over who legally owns the vessel. The person previously believed to be its owner was later reportedly identified as a middleman who had helped hire the crew.

Meanwhile, the latest distress messages have renewed pressure for urgent action.

Michael B. Jordan and Rihanna have sparked plenty of online curiosity after a recent outing together led fans to wonder whether the two stars could be more than friends. The viral sighting quickly fueled speculation, particularly because both celebrities are major names in entertainment. However, reports suggest there is no romance behind their meeting. According to the information attributed to Page Six, the outing was connected to work, and Jordan and Rihanna are simply friends. A viral moment creates dating rumors Celebrity sightings can quickly become the subject of online speculation, especially when two well-known stars are seen together away from a major public event. That appears to be what happened with Jordan and Rihanna. The pair’s recent appearance was enough for fans to begin wondering about their relationship. Social media reactions quickly turned a casual meeting into a possible romance story, even though neither star has publicly confirmed a relationship. Jordan has generally kept his personal life private. He previously described his love life as a subject he is not particularly interested in discussing publicly, while explaining that his demanding career can make relationships complicated. (Harper’s BAZAAR) Their connection is reportedly professional Despite the speculation, the latest reports indicate that the outing had a professional reason behind it. Sources reportedly told Page Six that Jordan and Rihanna are friends and that their recent time together was work-related. That explanation offers a much simpler answer to the viral photos and suggests fans may have read more into the encounter than was actually there. Neither Jordan nor Rihanna has publicly announced a romantic relationship with each other, making the friendship explanation the only confirmed direction available at this point. Jordan keeps his dating life private Jordan has remained relatively quiet about his relationships throughout his career. His most public romance was with Lori Harvey, whom he dated for more than a year before their 2022 split. Since then, the actor has been linked to several women, although many of those reports were never confirmed. (People.com) His private approach makes it understandable why even a simple public outing can attract considerable attention. Rihanna, meanwhile, has also remained focused on her family, music, business ventures and other professional projects. A sighting with another celebrity does not necessarily indicate a romantic connection. For now, the viral moment appears to be exactly that: a moment that generated plenty of speculation but little evidence of a romance.

Kevin Feige reveals story behind Spider-Man’s iconic handshake

Kevin Feige has revealed the surprising story behind one of the most memorable friendship moments in the recent Spider-Man movies: the elaborate handshake shared by Peter Parker and his best friend Ned Leeds. Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, recently appeared at the D23 event alongside actor Jacob Batalon, who portrays Ned in the Spider-Man franchise. During the discussion, the two revisited some of the memorable moments from the movies, including the now-famous handshake between Ned and Peter. According to Feige, the handshake was not originally part of the script or something specifically planned by Marvel. Instead, it was an idea developed by Batalon and Tom Holland while they were working together on Spider-Man: Homecoming. Feige recalled that during the production of the 2016 movie, Holland and Batalon were spending time away from the main set when they came up with the idea. The Marvel executive said he noticed the two young actors approaching director Jon Watts to pitch their idea for a special handshake that could be used between their characters. The actors reportedly wanted their characters to have a unique gesture that reflected the close friendship between Peter and Ned. Watts agreed to let them try the idea, and the handshake eventually became part of the movie. What started as a simple idea between two young actors went on to become one of the most recognizable friendship moments in the Spider-Man franchise. The gesture helped strengthen the bond between Peter and Ned on screen while also giving their friendship a playful and distinctive identity. Feige credited both Holland and Batalon for creating the moment and thanked Batalon for helping bring the idea to life. His comments highlighted how some of the most memorable moments in major superhero franchises can emerge naturally from the chemistry between actors rather than being carefully planned from the beginning. Batalon has played Ned alongside Holland’s Peter Parker throughout the recent Spider-Man films, becoming an important part of the character’s journey. Their friendship has provided several lighter moments within the superhero stories, with Ned often serving as Peter’s trusted friend and supporter. The revelation also offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at how Spider-Man: Homecoming developed some of its most memorable details. While the films feature elaborate action sequences and carefully constructed storylines, small creative decisions from the cast can sometimes become just as memorable. The Spider-Man franchise continues to remain one of Marvel’s most successful properties, with fans eagerly following updates about its next chapter. The upcoming projects are expected to further expand Peter Parker’s story and introduce audiences to new developments in his superhero journey. For fans who have followed Peter and Ned since their first appearance together, the story behind the handshake adds another layer to one of the franchise’s most beloved friendship moments. What began as a spontaneous idea between Holland and Batalon ultimately became an enduring part of the Spider-Man movies.
