Goats caught riding a green bus in Oregon in viral…

An unusual incident in Portland, Oregon, has caught the attention of social media users after two stray goats were spotted entering a public bus station and briefly boarding a green bus.

The bizarre incident reportedly took place at a bus station on Division Street, where authorities received a 911 call about two goats wandering freely around the area. What happened next turned an ordinary day into an amusing story for local commuters.

According to the local transport authority, security camera footage showed the two goats calmly entering the station. The animals then appeared to board a nearby bus before eventually getting off and walking toward a shopping center in the area.

The sight of the unexpected passengers quickly became the highlight of the incident. Rather than causing major disruption, the goats seemed to explore the station and bus as if they were simply looking for their next destination.

Police were alerted and began searching the area after receiving the report. However, by the time officers arrived, the goats had disappeared. Their whereabouts remained unknown.

The local transport authority also responded to the unusual incident with a humorous message, jokingly raising questions about where the goats had come from, where they were going and whether they had valid tickets for their journey.

The incident has since attracted attention online, with the unusual footage providing plenty of entertainment for viewers. While public transportation is normally associated with human passengers, the appearance of two goats on a bus created a memorable and amusing moment.

The goats ride green bus incident is another example of how unexpected moments captured on security cameras can quickly become viral stories. For the goats, however, the brief bus adventure may simply have been another day of exploring their surroundings.

The incident ended without reports of injuries, and authorities were left with more questions than answers about the animals’ unexpected public-transit adventure

Ashley Callingbull calls out cultural appropriation at pageant

Ashley Callingbull has opened up about her decision to speak out during the Miss Universe Canada 2026 pageant, saying she felt a responsibility to use her platform to raise awareness about cultural appropriation and encourage greater accountability. The 36-year-old pageant contestant became involved in a controversy after contestants Karisa Haverkamp and Jasleen Kaily were photographed wearing outfits that featured prominent elements inspired by traditional Indigenous clothing. The images sparked criticism, with concerns being raised about the use of Indigenous cultural symbols in a pageant setting. Callingbull, who is known for representing and advocating for Indigenous communities, said the situation was deeply upsetting. She explained that seeing the outfits felt disrespectful and described the incident as “a slap in the face to the Indigenous community.” Rather than remaining silent, Callingbull decided to address the issue publicly during the live pageant. She found an unexpected opportunity when she and fellow host Sonny Borelli were preparing to announce the top 20 contestants. At that moment, the teleprompter stopped working, leaving the presenters without their prepared script. Instead of simply waiting for the technical problem to be resolved, Callingbull used the unscripted moment to speak directly to the audience. She delivered a brief but powerful message, saying, “It’s 2026, we should know better.” Her comments immediately drew attention because they came during a highly visible moment of the competition. Callingbull made it clear that she wanted to use the platform to encourage people to think more carefully about cultural representation and respect. Following the controversy, Miss Universe Canada responded to the criticism and stated that causing offense, hurt or misunderstanding was never the organization’s intention. The response came amid wider discussion about cultural sensitivity and the responsibility of public events to ensure that Indigenous traditions and symbols are treated respectfully. Callingbull has since received significant support from people who appreciated her decision to speak up. She said the response has reinforced her belief that public figures can play an important role in encouraging meaningful conversations. For Callingbull, the incident was about more than a pageant or a particular outfit. She believes it was an opportunity to highlight the importance of respecting Indigenous culture and challenging behavior that may be considered inappropriate or insensitive. She hopes the situation will encourage others to find the courage to speak out when they witness something they believe is wrong. By using an unexpected moment on stage to address the controversy, Callingbull showed that even an unscripted statement can draw attention to important social issues and encourage broader conversations about respect, representation and cultural awareness.

Parties back local governments over new provinces

Mainstream political parties have rejected the idea of creating new provinces and instead called for stronger local governments to improve governance and public service delivery. The position emerged during a day-long seminar organised by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), where politicians and independent experts discussed whether Pakistan needs new provinces or additional administrative units. Representatives of the PML-N, PPP, PTI and JUI opposed the creation of new provinces, while lawmakers from the MQM-P supported the proposal. Most independent experts also favoured transferring greater administrative, political and financial powers to local governments. Participants argued that Pakistan does not primarily face a shortage of resources. Instead, they said, excessive concentration of authority in provincial capitals prevents public spending from delivering its intended benefits. Several speakers also criticised the bureaucracy for weak governance and poor service delivery. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said the existing administrative structure could deliver better results if local governments received adequate powers. He argued that dividing Punjab into three provinces would still leave each province with around 40 million people and would not adequately address governance problems. Raja called for stronger constitutional safeguards for local governments and said Article 140-A, which provides for local governments, needed clearer and stronger provisions. Raja also rejected the idea of holding a national referendum on the creation of new provinces, arguing that the Constitution already provides a mechanism for altering provincial boundaries. He further opposed changes to Article 239, which governs constitutional amendments related to provincial boundaries. Minister of State for Law Barrister Aqeel Malik said political parties should first hold internal discussions on the issue before pursuing constitutional or legal changes. He also praised the 2001 local government system, saying it offered a stronger framework that should have been developed further. The seminar came weeks after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi described Pakistan’s governance system as having collapsed and called for the creation of new provinces. PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira warned that the debate could deepen existing political and administrative divisions. He said provincial chief ministers had accumulated significant power and often resisted efforts to establish genuinely strong local governments. Some participants even suggested removing the provincial tier altogether and maintaining only the federal government and fully empowered local administrative units.

Trump saves toddler from stage tumble, can’t resist a Biden dig

President Donald Trump found himself in a viral moment after a sweet interaction with a toddler took an unexpected turn. What started as a heartwarming scene at a Nevada event ended with a jab at former President Joe Biden. The moment unfolded when Trump invited Sandra and Brad, a couple from Las Vegas, onstage along with their two children. They were there to help promote his “no tax on tips” plan and his Trump Accounts proposal. As Sandra began addressing the crowd, their toddler suddenly bolted toward the edge of the stage. Trump reacted quickly, reaching out and pulling the child back to safety before anything could go wrong. Once the child was secure, Trump did not miss the chance for a joke. He remarked that he did not want the boy ending up like Biden and falling off the stage, a line that got the audience laughing. That was not the only memorable part of the appearance. Later, Sandra told Trump her son had something he wanted to say to him. Trump turned his full attention to the boy, clearly enjoying the moment. According to Fox News, the toddler leaned into the microphone and thanked Trump for his “Trump Account.” The crowd responded with loud applause. It was Trump’s Biden joke, though, that really took off online. Clips of the moment spread fast across social media, drawing a mix of reactions from viewers. Some found it genuinely funny. One user called it the funniest thing they’d heard all year, praising Trump’s sense of humour. Another agreed, saying the president has real comedic timing. Not everyone was amused, though. One critic questioned why Trump seems so fixated on bringing up Biden and Obama at nearly every public appearance. Whether people found it charming or grating, the moment has kept Trump in the headlines yet again, this time for something a little lighter than usual.

Rana Sikandar to join classroom as teacher

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that he will begin teaching students in government schools in Lahore from the first week of September as part of an initiative aimed at improving the quality of education in the province. The minister said he has decided to personally enter classrooms and teach students instead of only monitoring the education system from administrative offices. He said the experience would help him better understand the challenges faced by teachers and students while also providing an opportunity to evaluate classroom teaching firsthand. Rana Sikandar Hayat said English and Chemistry are his favourite subjects, and he will start by teaching these courses. He said he plans to teach English in primary schools and Chemistry in high schools before expanding his teaching to other subjects in the future. He added that he will visit a different government school every week without giving prior notice. According to the minister, these surprise visits will allow him to observe the actual learning environment, interact directly with students, and assess the effectiveness of teaching methods being used in classrooms. The education minister said the initiative is not symbolic but a practical effort to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the public education system. He believes that personally teaching students will provide valuable insight into issues affecting classroom learning and help identify areas that require immediate improvement. Rana Sikandar Hayat said he has immense respect for the teaching profession and considers it an honour to serve as a teacher. He added that educators play a vital role in shaping the future of the nation and deserve recognition for their contribution to society. He expressed hope that the initiative would encourage greater accountability within the education system and inspire teachers and school administrators to continue improving academic standards. He also said direct interaction with students would help the education department design better policies based on practical classroom experience rather than relying solely on reports. The minister said the feedback gathered during his teaching visits would be used to identify shortcomings in teaching methods, curriculum delivery, and classroom management. He added that the information would help the government introduce reforms aimed at improving learning outcomes and raising educational standards in government schools across Punjab.
