Paris Jackson has made it clear that she is not interested in letting strangers dictate how she should look.

The singer and actress recently hit back at an Instagram user who criticized her extensive collection of tattoos, saying the body art made her look “dirty.” Jackson responded with a blunt and sarcastic comment, showing that the criticism had little effect on her.

The exchange happened after E! News shared an Instagram post about Jackson opening up about meeting her mother, Debbie Rowe, for the first time. The post featured a photo highlighting the colorful chakra-inspired tattoo running down the center of Jackson’s chest. (E! Online⁠)

One commenter complimented Jackson’s appearance but then criticized her tattoos, writing that they made her look dirty and took away from her overall look.

Jackson was quick to respond.

“Oh no what ever will i do 😰 (i’m dirty even without the tattoos),” she wrote, turning the criticism into a joke rather than allowing it to become a serious confrontation. (People.com⁠)

The commenter continued to defend their opinion, telling Jackson that she was beautiful and questioning why she had “messed with perfection.” Jackson did not appear interested in continuing the argument.

The reaction is hardly surprising considering Jackson’s long-standing love for tattoos. The 28-year-old has accumulated more than 80 tattoos over the years, with many carrying personal or symbolic meanings. In a recent Call Her Daddy interview, she discussed meeting her mother, Debbie Rowe, for the first time when she was 15. For Jackson, tattoos appear to be more than just a fashion choice. They are a form of self-expression and, in some cases, a way of carrying memories and personal experiences with her.

    Pakistan, allies condemn Israeli actions in Gaza

    Pakistan inflation falls to 9.2% in July 2026: PBS

    Pakistan’s annual inflation eased to single digits in July 2026, with the latest official figures showing a noticeable decline in price growth compared to the previous month. However, economists cautioned that inflationary pressures have not disappeared, as higher fuel costs and other economic challenges continue to weigh on the outlook. According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Monday, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded an annual inflation rate of 9.2% in July 2026. The reading marked a significant decline from 11.1% in June, although it remained considerably higher than the 4.1% recorded in July 2025. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 1.2% during July, reversing the 0.3% decline witnessed in June. In comparison, monthly inflation had risen by 2.9% in July last year. Urban and rural inflation The PBS data showed that inflation in urban areas slowed to 8.7% year-on-year in July, down from 11.2% in June. During the same month last year, urban inflation had stood at 4.4%. Month-on-month, urban prices climbed 1.2%, compared to a 0.5% decline in June and a 3.4% increase recorded in July 2025. Meanwhile, rural inflation also moderated, with the annual rate easing to 9.9% in July from 10.9% a month earlier. Rural inflation had been 3.5% in the corresponding month of last year. On a monthly basis, rural prices increased by 1.2%, compared with no change in June, while July 2025 had witnessed a 2.2% monthly increase. Government projects inflation to remain elevated The Finance Division had earlier projected inflation to remain between 9% and 10% in July, warning that rising international oil prices could continue to exert pressure on domestic prices. The ministry’s latest economic outlook also highlighted concerns over external investment, noting that Pakistan’s foreign direct investment (FDI) fell by 33.9% during the last fiscal year, declining from $2.48 billion in FY2024-25 to $1.64 billion in FY2025-26. SBP keeps policy rate unchanged Last week, the State Bank of Pakistan’s Monetary Policy Committee maintained the benchmark policy rate at 11.5% during its first monetary policy meeting of the new fiscal year. Speaking after the decision, SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad said inflation was expected to decline in July and expressed optimism that it would gradually move towards the central bank’s target. He said the State Bank expects inflation to settle within the upper end of its 5-7% target range by the close of the current fiscal year. Analysts see base effect behind slowdown Market analysts had largely anticipated inflation returning to single digits in July, though many argued that the improvement was mainly due to favourable statistical base effects rather than a broad-based easing in price pressures. Analysts at Ismail Iqbal Securities estimated July inflation at 9.3%, saying the decline reflected comparison with a higher base from the previous year rather than a sustained reduction in inflationary momentum. Similarly, JS Global projected headline inflation at 9.1% for July, indicating that while inflation has eased, underlying economic pressures continue to pose risks for the months ahead. The latest inflation reading provides some relief for consumers and policymakers, but economists believe the path ahead will depend on global commodity prices, exchange rate stability, energy costs and the government’s fiscal management during the current financial year.

    The Anti-Corruption Department has conducted an inquiry into alleged irregularities and appointments to key positions at Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), raising questions over the appointment procedures and eligibility of several candidates. The inquiry report identified alleged violations of rules and regulations in appointments to important positions, including Director Finance, Chief Internal Auditor, Director Supply Chain, and Director Research and Clinical Audit. According to the report, a person was appointed as Director Finance despite allegedly failing to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The inquiry also found that the candidate who secured the top position on merit for the post of Chief Internal Auditor was allegedly overlooked. The report further stated that the appointment of the Director Supply Chain was made despite the candidate allegedly not meeting the required technical expertise criteria. Similarly, the inquiry raised objections to the appointment of the Director Research and Clinical Audit, stating that the appointee allegedly did not meet the required eligibility criteria. The Anti-Corruption Department said the appointments allegedly violated provisions of the Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Act and relevant rules and regulations. Based on its findings, the inquiry recommended that the disputed appointments be cancelled. The report also recommended action against the Chairman and members of the Board of Governors, along with other officials allegedly involved in the appointment process. According to the inquiry report, the disputed appointments remained in place for around three years, allegedly causing a financial loss of approximately Rs150 million to the public exchequer. The inquiry recommended recovering the alleged financial loss from the individuals responsible. The Anti-Corruption Department has also recommended verification of the educational qualifications, professional experience and certificates of the officials concerned. The verification is aimed at determining whether the documents submitted by the candidates at the time of their appointments met the prescribed criteria and were in accordance with the relevant rules. The matter has already been under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Department. A petition challenging appointments to key posts, including Director Finance, Chief Internal Auditor and Director Supply Chain, is also pending before the Peshawar High Court.

    Shakib ready to return to Bangladesh if assured of security

    DHAKA: Bangladesh cricket star and former lawmaker Shakib Al Hasan has said he is prepared to return home from exile, face ongoing court proceedings and play a farewell series if the government guarantees his safety. Shakib, 39, has been living in the United States since the fall of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government following a deadly student-led uprising in August 2024. The former Bangladesh captain remains politically linked to Hasina’s Awami League, having previously served as a lawmaker from the party. He is currently facing criminal cases in Bangladesh, including one related to the alleged killing of a protester and another involving anti-corruption authorities. Speaking to Reuters from Sri Lanka, where he is playing franchise cricket, Shakib said he wanted to return and was willing to appear before the courts. He said he would go back if the government formally assured him that adequate security would be provided. Shakib maintained that he had not committed any wrongdoing and described the murder case against him as baseless. He said the case was filed on a day in August 2024 when he was playing a match in Toronto. The cricketer also said he had previously attempted to return to Bangladesh. In late 2024, he boarded a flight after receiving assurances that he would be protected, but was reportedly instructed to turn back while the journey was underway. He eventually landed in Dubai before returning to the United States. Shakib said another planned return was blocked after he posted a birthday message for Hasina. He questioned why such a social media post should prevent him from entering his own country. The former captain also rejected suggestions that he should distance himself from Hasina or the Awami League to facilitate his return. Shakib recently appeared virtually at a press conference in Delhi alongside Hasina. Following the event, his vacant home in Bangladesh was reportedly attacked. He defended his participation, saying his message was focused on peace and Bangladesh’s progress. The National World War II Memorial was reportedly targeted on Thursday, when its fountain was filled with soap, creating bubbles and suds across the water. Graffiti was also painted on one of the memorial’s surfaces, including the words “Clean hands Dirty $”, while red and green paint was splattered around the area. Police and National Guard personnel quickly converged on the memorial, which was surrounded by yellow crime scene tape as investigators examined the damage. A plainclothes investigator was seen measuring the affected area, while workers later arrived to remove the graffiti. The US Interior Department condemned the incident and pledged that authorities would identify those responsible. “The vandalism that occurred is an utter disgrace and will not be tolerated,” the department said in a statement. It added that US Park Police were at the scene and that the investigation was continuing. The Friends of the National WWII Memorial, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to preserving the site, also condemned the act, describing the memorial as a “sacred place of remembrance”. The group stressed that although Americans have many venues for political expression, debate and disagreement, a national memorial dedicated to those who served in the war should not be used as a target for vandalism. Located near the Washington Monument, the memorial occupies a prominent position in the US capital and attracts visitors throughout the year. The incident comes amid heightened political tensions in Washington, where debates over national history, public monuments and their symbolism have become increasingly contentious. Despite deep political divisions in the United States, the country’s role in World War Two remains widely associated with national sacrifice and unity. The war’s legacy, however, continues to generate debate, including over the US decision to use atomic bombs against Japan in 1945. According to the National Park Service, construction of the memorial began in 2001 and was completed in 2004. It was formally dedicated on May 29, 2004, during Memorial Day weekend and opened to the public that year. Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect. The investigation remains ongoing as officials assess the damage and work to restore the memorial.
