Sydney Sweeney, Scooter Braun heat up Mallorca yacht getaway

Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun’s romance continues going strong this summer. The couple was recently spotted enjoying a getaway on Spain’s Mallorca Island, according to a TMZ report published Saturday, August 15.

The outlet reported that the “Euphoria” actress and her businessman boyfriend kicked off their weekend with a lively yacht escapade off the coast of Mallorca. The pair boarded a large superyacht on Friday, August 14, before jet-skiing across the Mediterranean.

In photos shared by the outlet, the 28-year-old actress was seen in a light blue swimsuit, paired with a rash guard on top. Braun matched her look, wearing a light blue shirt, dark pants and a rash guard of his own.

The latest sighting adds to a string of romantic outings the couple has shared throughout the summer. Just weeks earlier, they were spotted bungee jumping together in New Zealand.

Before that trip, the two were seen holding hands while attending NBA Finals Game 4 in New York City. Sweeney also recently threw Braun a star-studded early birthday celebration, marking his 45th birthday in June.

Sweeney and Braun began dating in September 2025, months after first meeting at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s high-profile wedding in Italy. The couple made their relationship Instagram-official in April 2026, sharing photos from their time together at the Stagecoach Music Festival.

Since then, the pair has continued stepping out publicly at a steady pace, from sporting events to international getaways. Their latest yacht outing in Mallorca appears to be another chapter in what’s shaping up to be an active and increasingly public relationship.

With summer still in full swing, fans can likely expect more updates on the couple’s travels as they continue making joint appearances across various destinations.

Ukraine urges faster missile support as envoy pushes for stronger air defences

Ukraine has renewed its appeal for advanced air defence missiles, warning that the country urgently needs stronger protection against Russian ballistic missile attacks before winter arrives. Speaking in Washington, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Olha Stefanishyna, said diplomatic efforts to end the war are continuing, but military support remains essential as Russian strikes intensify. Stefanishyna said Ukraine hopes renewed ceasefire discussions with Russia could help bring an end to the conflict before the harsh winter season. However, she stressed that negotiations alone will not protect civilians from the increasing number of missile attacks targeting Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. She said the country urgently requires additional Patriot PAC 3 interceptor missiles to strengthen its air defence system. According to the ambassador, Ukraine is in talks with the Pentagon about obtaining a licence to manufacture Patriot PAC 3 missiles domestically. She acknowledged that such a project would take considerable time, with production possibly beginning anywhere between one and five years after approval. Ukrainian officials are also discussing a long term purchasing arrangement that would allow the country to secure future missile supplies by exchanging production slots with another customer. Stefanishyna revealed that representatives from Raytheon, the company that produces the Patriot air defence system, have already visited Ukraine. She added that Lockheed Martin, which manufactures the PAC 3 interceptor missiles, is preparing to send a team of specialists to the country to explore possible cooperation. Describing the current security situation, the ambassador said Russia has sharply increased its use of ballistic missiles during overnight attacks. She noted that recent waves of strikes have included between 30 and 40 ballistic missiles in a single night. While Ukraine has become more effective at intercepting drones supplied or produced by Russia and Iran, it still lacks enough advanced missile systems to counter large scale ballistic attacks. Stefanishyna said Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to expand missile production while maintaining pressure on Ukrainian cities. She argued that Ukraine has adapted successfully in many areas of the conflict but still requires additional missile defences to protect the population during the coming winter months. The renewed request for military assistance follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s meeting with United States President Donald Trump at the White House earlier this week. During the talks, Zelensky sought greater support for Ukraine’s air defence capabilities while also encouraging a fresh diplomatic effort aimed at ending the war. The ambassador said the latest peace initiative could include a visit to Kyiv by senior United States representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Although no official date has been announced, she said the visit could take place as early as next week if preparations are completed. Stefanishyna also said Zelensky has repeated Ukraine’s proposal for a ceasefire based on the current front lines, with negotiations continuing from that point. She stressed that meaningful progress is needed before winter because colder weather will make both military operations and humanitarian conditions more difficult. The ambassador also addressed reports about her own future in government. She confirmed that she had offered to resign from her position and return to Ukraine to respond personally to corruption allegations related to her financial declarations. Stefanishyna said President Zelensky had not requested her resignation and preferred that she remain in her role. However, she believes returning home is the best way to defend herself and her family against the accusations while the legal process moves forward.

Mir Raza’s father says new probe is moving in ri…

KARACHI: The father of young Karachi resident Mir Raza has expressed confidence in the newly formed investigation team. He said he felt, for the first time in 13 days, that the investigation was moving in the right direction. Mir Raza’s parents, lawyer Jibran Nasir and members of the new investigation team visited locations connected to the case. The visit was aimed at reviewing important points and gathering information that could help investigators understand what happened. Jibran Nasir said the family had identified several important locations on its own. These locations were later shown to the police. He said Mir Raza’s parents were cooperating fully with the investigators and answering their questions. Nasir said the investigation team was waiting for the results of samples collected during the post-mortem examination. He said additional samples obtained after the exhumation had also been sent to a forensic laboratory. The lawyer said the family now believed that an honest and serious officer was handling the investigation. He said the family had earlier faced difficulties in getting the matter investigated properly. Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain, said the family still wanted clear answers about his son’s death. He said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident had not yet been established. According to him, the initial investigation should have been more effective. He said timely and proper action at the beginning could have taken the case to a different stage. Mir Hussain said the new investigation team was listening to the family’s concerns. He said investigators were considering the information provided by the parents. The family, he added, now had greater confidence in the process. He said the main objective was to establish what happened to Mir Raza and how the incident took place. The family wanted every aspect of the case to be examined. Mir Hussain said Mir Raza’s kitchen was located around half a kilometre from the site of the incident. He also said information about three suspicious individuals had already been shared with the police. The victim’s father further alleged that the previous investigation team had not properly shared details of the inquiry with the family. He hoped the new team would maintain transparency and investigate the case from all possible angles. The family said it would continue cooperating with investigators. Mir Hussain said they would pursue the case as far as necessary to uncover the truth and obtain justice for Mir Raza. Investigators are now expected to examine forensic evidence, statements and other available information. The reports from the forensic laboratory could also play an important role in determining the circumstances surrounding the case.

Shai Hope anchors West Indies after Pakistan strike early

Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 89 as West Indies reached 303-7 at lunch on the second day of the first Test against Pakistan at the Brian Lara Stadium. Hope faced 174 deliveries and struck six boundaries and one six during a composed innings that helped the hosts recover from early pressure. Pakistan made an important breakthrough soon after play resumed, removing well-set batter Kavem Hodge for 84. West Indies had started the day on 194-3 after rain severely disrupted the opening day. Hodge’s dismissal came after he edged a delivery from Mohammad Ali towards second slip, where Salman Ali Agha completed the catch. Pakistan’s bowlers had another chance shortly before the wicket when Hope was dropped in the slips by Azan Awais. The missed opportunity proved costly as Hope continued to strengthen West Indies’ position. At the other end, Shamar Joseph provided valuable support to Hope. He was unbeaten on 23 from just 12 balls, hitting four boundaries and a six to keep the scoreboard moving quickly. Mohammad Abbas and Khurram Shahzad also tested the West Indies batters during the morning session, but Hope held firm to guide the hosts through to lunch. West Indies now have an opportunity to build a sizeable first-innings total, while Pakistan will look for quick wickets in the afternoon session to prevent the hosts from taking control of the Test.

Fatima Sana joins Vancouver Anchors for Canada Super 60

Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana has been signed by the Vancouver Anchors for the 2026 edition of the Canada Super 60, adding another milestone to her rapidly growing international career. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 29 to October 4, with franchises strengthening their squads by recruiting some of the world’s top cricketing talent. The Vancouver Anchors confirmed Sana’s signing through their official social media platforms, welcoming the 24-year-old bowling all-rounder as one of the team’s marquee players. Announcing the signing, the franchise expressed excitement over adding the Pakistan skipper to its squad, saying she is ready to make a strong impact for the team during the upcoming season. The announcement comes at a significant moment in Sana’s career as she is also set to make history by becoming the first Pakistan women’s cricketer to feature in The Hundred. She is expected to make her debut for Birmingham Phoenix in their opening match against Southern Brave in Southampton. Sana joined Birmingham Phoenix after replacing Australia’s Lucy Hamilton, who withdrew from the tournament as part of Cricket Australia’s workload management plan. As the replacement overseas player, Sana will receive the tournament’s minimum salary of £15,000. Her selection for both franchise tournaments reflects her growing reputation as one of Pakistan’s most promising all-round cricketers. Known for her ability to contribute with both bat and ball, Sana has consistently delivered important performances for her national side across international competitions. The Pakistan captain heads into these tournaments with impressive form following her standout performance at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. In Pakistan’s closely contested match against South Africa, Sana produced an outstanding all-round display despite her team’s narrow defeat. Batting under pressure, she remained unbeaten on 55 from just 38 deliveries, helping Pakistan post a competitive total. She then impressed with the ball, claiming three wickets while conceding only 16 runs in her spell. Although South Africa eventually secured a tense two-wicket victory, Sana’s performance earned widespread praise and highlighted her ability to perform on the biggest stage. Her recent performances have further strengthened her reputation in international cricket and attracted interest from franchise teams around the world. The opportunity to compete in tournaments such as The Hundred and the Canada Super 60 will provide Sana with valuable experience alongside some of the world’s leading players. Sana is also among three Pakistani cricketers who have secured contracts in this year’s edition of The Hundred. She joins fellow Pakistan player Usman Tariq, who will also represent Birmingham Phoenix, while mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed was signed by Sunrisers Leeds for £190,000 during the tournament’s player draft earlier this year. With opportunities in multiple franchise leagues and consistent performances at the international level, Fatima Sana continues to establish herself as one of Pakistan’s brightest cricket stars. Her latest signing with the Vancouver Anchors marks another important step in her career as she prepares for a busy and exciting season on the global stage.
