He said its network is being expanded beyond Punjab. New Daanish Schools are being established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, he added. Shehbaz said young people must be given access to modern education and technology. He warned that Pakistan would fall further behind if its youth were not prepared for the changing global economy. 35% quota for women The prime minister announced important measures under the new employment policy. He said women would receive a 35% quota across the labour force.He also announced a 10% annual quota for startups. The measure is aimed at encouraging young entrepreneurs and creating new employment opportunities. Shehbaz said young people should not only look for jobs. They should also be encouraged to establish businesses and create employment for others. Daanish University in Islamabad The prime minister also announced progress on Daanish University in Islamabad.He said the university is being established to provide modern and quality education. Classes are expected to begin next year.Shehbaz said financial difficulties should not prevent talented students from pursuing higher education. He said students with strong academic results would be given opportunities even if they could not afford expensive education. The prime minister pledged that his government would take every possible step for youth development. He said higher education and employment would remain among the government’s key priorities. Shehbaz also highlighted the government’s laptop distribution programme. He said around 700,000 laptops had already been distributed among deserving students.According to the prime minister, the laptops were awarded strictly on merit. He recalled that the programme had faced criticism in the past. Some critics had accused the government of using laptops for political purposes.Shehbaz rejected the criticism and said deserving students received the devices based on their academic performance. He further announced that 250,000 students would receive Chromebooks this year.The devices will also be distributed on merit. Sources said an office has been allocated to Hamza Shehbaz at the Prime Minister’s Office. Although he has not yet been given any formal government position, he is likely to play an important role in coordinating between the prime minister and ruling party lawmakers. His main responsibility will be to engage with members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and address issues related to their constituencies. He will work to ensure that development projects, administrative matters and public concerns raised by lawmakers are communicated to the relevant authorities for timely resolution. Government legislators often seek meetings with the prime minister to discuss problems faced by their constituencies. However, due to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s busy official schedule, it is not always possible for him to meet every lawmaker. Hamza Shehbaz is expected to help manage this coordination process and facilitate communication between the government and parliamentary members. Sources said his office is located on the sixth floor of the Prime Minister’s Office. A meeting room has also been allocated alongside his office, where he is expected to hold meetings with lawmakers, party representatives and visiting delegations. Hamza Shehbaz is currently an MNA from Lahore’s NA-118 constituency. He has previous experience in coordinating with elected representatives, having performed a similar role during Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure as Punjab chief minister. Sources further said that office staff has also been assigned to assist him in carrying out his responsibilities. There is currently one vacant adviser position in the Prime Minister’s team. Under the Constitution, the prime minister can appoint up to five advisers. At present, four adviser positions are occupied. However, sources indicated that Hamza Shehbaz may not immediately receive the status of adviser or special assistant. Instead, the government is considering assigning him the title of coordinator to avoid political criticism over his appointment. If approved, he is expected to perform his responsibilities from behind the scenes while assisting the government in maintaining close coordination with lawmakers and resolving constituency-related matters.

Police also warned about unauthorized insurance plans and false advertisements offering vehicles allegedly seized by Abu Dhabi Customs. Scammers are also targeting buyers with fake listings for vehicle registration plates and luxury watches sold at heavily discounted prices. In addition, authorities highlighted fraudulent investment schemes that promise exceptionally high returns in a short period, a tactic commonly used to convince victims to hand over their savings. Police said criminals are increasingly using fake websites that imitate government departments and well known organizations to trick people into revealing sensitive information. Other scams involve persuading victims to install remote access software on their phones or computers, allowing fraudsters to gain access to personal data and banking accounts. Residents were also warned about requests for advance payments for products or services that do not exist. These include fake training courses, certificates, event tickets, and online shopping offers where the promised goods are never delivered after payment is made. Abu Dhabi Police strongly advised the public never to share banking information, passwords, or one time passwords with anyone, regardless of the reason given. Officials stressed that banks and government agencies do not ask customers to disclose such confidential information through phone calls, text messages, or online links. Authorities also encouraged residents to verify the identity of sellers and service providers before transferring money or making advance payments. They recommended accessing government services only through official websites and authorized mobile applications instead of clicking on links found through search engines or social media advertisements. Anyone who suspects they have encountered a scam or comes across suspicious online activity is urged to report it immediately through Abu Dhabi Police’s Aman service. Prompt reporting allows investigators to respond more quickly, prevent additional victims from being targeted, and strengthen efforts to combat cybercrime across the community. Police emphasized that staying cautious, verifying information before making payments, and protecting personal banking details are the most effective ways to avoid falling victim to online fraud, particularly during salary periods when scammers are most active.
