Ellie Goulding sues former managers over alleged hidden Live Nation ownership

British singer Ellie Goulding has launched legal proceedings against her former managers, Ben Mawson and Ed Millet of TaP Management, alleging that they failed to disclose a business connection to Live Nation while representing her.

The dispute centers on HNOE, the parent company associated with TaP Management. Goulding alleges that the company was owned by Live Nation during the period in which Mawson and Millet managed her. According to the claims, the alleged ownership was not disclosed to her, despite the managers receiving a 20 percent commission on her earnings between 2018 and 2025.

The lawsuit argues that the undisclosed relationship created a potential conflict of interest. During those years, Goulding entered into several agreements involving Live Nation-related companies, including deals connected to touring, merchandise and film projects. She claims she was unaware of the alleged ownership connection when those agreements were made.

The case also reportedly points to contractual arrangements that prevented her managers from reducing or avoiding their business ties with Live Nation. Goulding’s legal action therefore raises questions about whether decisions made on her behalf were influenced by interests that had not been fully revealed to her.

The allegations have drawn attention across the music industry because of TaP Management’s wider history with major recording artists. Online discussion has also connected the dispute with Dua Lipa’s departure from TaP and the management links surrounding Lana Del Rey, although those circumstances are separate from Goulding’s legal claims.

Goulding’s lawsuit remains at an early stage, and the allegations have not been established in court. The case is expected to focus on the nature of the relationship between TaP, HNOE and Live Nation, as well as what Goulding was told about those business interests during her management agreement.

Neither Mawson nor Millet has publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication. The outcome of the proceedings could have broader implications for artist-management relationships, particularly when managers have financial or corporate connections to companies with which their clients conduct business.

As the legal process continues, the central issue will be whether Goulding was adequately informed about the alleged ownership structure and whether the relationship created a conflict that affected business decisions made during her seven-year management period.

Ben Affleck spends 54th birthday with Garner amid JLo buzz

Ben Affleck marked his 54th birthday on Saturday, August 15, with a quiet family celebration. His former wife, Jennifer Garner, was among those who joined in marking the occasion. The two share three children together, Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14. According to a Daily Mail report, Affleck kept this year’s celebrations especially low-key, given that it marks his first birthday since losing his mother, Chris Anne. The family gathering took place in Santa Monica, where Garner and the children joined Affleck for an intimate celebration. For the outing, Affleck wore a white button-down shirt paired with blue jeans and matching sneakers. He was seen heading to a favourite local eatery over the weekend, accompanied by his two sons, Fin and Samuel. Garner arrived separately for the celebration, dressed in green fitted gym trousers, a black hoodie and a blue baseball cap. Despite both attending the same birthday outing, Affleck and Garner weren’t spotted together during the celebration itself. The appearance also holds added significance given recent speculation about Affleck’s personal life. This marks the former couple’s first public outing together since rumours began swirling about a possible reunion between Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Affleck and Garner divorced in 2015 after ten years of marriage. Meanwhile, Affleck finalised his separation from Lopez in 2025, following roughly two years of marriage. Reports earlier this month suggested the two had been spending quality time together, including during a secretive getaway in Italy. An insider claimed Lopez feels genuinely thrilled to have reconnected emotionally with Affleck, despite their difficult split back in February last year. The source described Affleck as comfortable continuing to offer Lopez guidance and emotional support whenever she needs it. Neither Lopez nor Affleck has directly addressed the growing reunion speculation so far. For now, both the birthday outing with Garner and the reunion buzz with Lopez continue to draw significant attention from fans and entertainment outlets alike. With his personal life generating steady headlines in recent weeks, Affleck’s understated birthday celebration offered a rare, low-profile moment amid the ongoing speculation surrounding his relationships.

Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan return sparks excitement around Ahsoka

Another exciting chapter in the Star Wars universe is officially on its way, with fans getting a fresh look at the upcoming instalment of Ahsoka. Disney unveiled the official trailer on Friday, August 14, offering viewers a glimpse at the major battles, returning characters and new threats that will shape the story. The upcoming film features Rosario Dawson returning as Ahsoka Tano, while the story expands the conflict between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. Grand Admiral Thrawn once again emerges as a major threat, bringing renewed danger to the galaxy as the New Republic struggles to contain the growing power of the Empire and the Nightsisters. The trailer also highlights Ahsoka and Sabine Wren’s continuing journey on Peridea, a mysterious world located in another galaxy. Their adventures are expected to play an important role in the new story, while the expanding conflict promises to bring several familiar Star Wars elements back into the spotlight. Among the biggest talking points surrounding the new instalment is the potential return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. McGregor previously portrayed the legendary Jedi throughout the Star Wars prequel trilogy and later reprised the role in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Fans have continued to hope that McGregor could return for another season of the series, particularly after his emotional reunion with Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker. However, McGregor recently admitted that there does not appear to be any major progress toward another season. “There seems to be no — I don’t know of any — progress in that direction,” the actor said while discussing the possibility of returning as Obi-Wan. McGregor nevertheless remains hopeful that more stories featuring the character could eventually be told. He suggested that there are still interesting possibilities for the beloved Jedi, leaving the door open for a future appearance. Although a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi may not happen soon, fans have not given up hope of seeing McGregor in the role again. His potential involvement in future Star Wars projects continues to generate excitement, especially as the franchise explores new timelines and characters. The upcoming story is also expected to include live-action flashbacks involving Ahsoka and Anakin during the Clone Wars. These sequences could provide additional insight into their relationship and Ahsoka’s development as a Jedi. With the return of Ahsoka, Sabine and Thrawn, along with the continuing Imperial threat and possible connections to Anakin and Obi-Wan, the new instalment is shaping up to be a major event for Star Wars fans. The film is currently expected to arrive on January 20, 2027, giving audiences plenty of reason to anticipate another major chapter in the galaxy far, far away.

Crimean residents struggle with power cuts as Ukrainian strikes disrupt daily life

Residents across Crimea are facing growing hardship after repeated Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure disrupted electricity and fuel supplies across the peninsula. Long power outages have forced many families to rely on community kitchens for hot meals as daily life becomes increasingly difficult. Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014, has experienced months of pressure on its energy network following Ukrainian strikes targeting power plants and other strategic facilities. Ukrainian officials say the campaign is aimed at weakening Russia’s military capabilities and bringing the effects of the war closer to Russian controlled territory. The attacks come as Ukraine continues to endure regular missile and drone strikes on its own cities since Russia launched its full scale invasion in 2022. In the town of Massandra, local authorities have organised public meal services for residents who are unable to cook because of prolonged electricity cuts. Large pots of buckwheat and reheated canned beef are prepared each day and distributed to around 200 people. Officials say many households depend entirely on electric stoves, leaving them without a way to prepare food when the power goes out. Massandra town administration head Oksana Madyud said the community kitchens were set up to support families facing ongoing disruptions. She explained that many residents have no alternative cooking methods and need access to hot meals until electricity supplies become more stable. Local workers continue preparing food every day to help elderly residents and vulnerable families cope with the difficult conditions. The prolonged outages have created serious challenges for many people, particularly those living in high rise apartment buildings. Marina, a local resident, said she was forced to search for a gas stove and fuel cylinders after losing electricity in her apartment. She explained that climbing down from her tenth floor flat has become painful because of a leg injury, yet she had little choice because her home has only an electric cooker that cannot be used during blackouts. Another resident, Alexandra, said she had spent ten days without electricity before power was finally restored. She joined the queue for a hot meal after being drawn by the smell of freshly prepared food. Although electricity had returned that afternoon, she remained uncertain whether the supply would continue once she reached home, reflecting the uncertainty many families now face. Fuel shortages have added to the difficulties across towns and cities in Crimea, making transport and everyday activities more challenging. The continuing disruption has increased pressure on local authorities to provide emergency support while residents adjust to frequent interruptions in essential services. As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, civilians on both sides are increasingly feeling the consequences. While Ukraine says its strikes are intended to weaken Russia’s military infrastructure, residents in Crimea are left dealing with power shortages, limited fuel supplies and an uncertain daily routine as the war continues to affect civilian life far from the front lines.

At least 18 migrants die as thousands cross into Spain’s Ceuta enclave

At least 18 migrants have died while attempting to reach the Spanish enclave of Ceuta after thousands crossed the border from Morocco in one of the largest migration surges seen in the region in recent years. The humanitarian situation continued to worsen on Friday as migrants kept arriving by sea while clashes broke out between Moroccan security forces and groups gathered near the border. Hundreds of migrants were seen on hills overlooking Ceuta as Moroccan authorities used tear gas to disperse crowds trying to move toward the Spanish territory. Despite the security operation, many people continued to swim across the narrow stretch of water separating Morocco from Ceuta. At the same time, large numbers of migrants who had already entered the enclave chose to return to Morocco on foot. Rachid Sbihi, who heads a local association representing Spain’s Civil Guard officers, described the situation as a serious humanitarian emergency. He said thousands of migrants, including many unaccompanied children, were sleeping in parks, streets and public spaces because reception centres had reached capacity. Emergency teams and military personnel sent to the area have mainly focused on treating the injured and providing humanitarian assistance as authorities struggle to manage the crisis. According to local officials, many of the 18 victims drowned while trying to swim into Ceuta. Others reportedly died during a stampede near the breakwater at Tarajal beach as large crowds rushed toward the border. Rescue teams continued searching the coastline while personal belongings including shoes, clothing and flotation devices were scattered along the shore. Many migrants said they left Morocco in search of better economic opportunities in Europe. One migrant, 33 year old Ahmed Karim, said unemployment and limited prospects at home had driven many people to take the dangerous journey. He explained that many dream of reaching Europe or the United States but see few legal opportunities to do so. Moroccan authorities strengthened security along the border by deploying additional police officers, using water cannons and firing warning shots into the air to stop more crossings. Human rights groups said migrants who were detained near the border were transported further into Morocco, although many others continued arriving in the area hoping to enter Ceuta. Morocco’s ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, expressed hope that those who had crossed into Ceuta would voluntarily return. She said Morocco supports safe and orderly migration but did not comment on what had triggered the sudden movement of thousands of people toward the Spanish territory. Officials in Spain linked the surge to a recent Supreme Court ruling stating that migrants who reach Spain by swimming cannot automatically be returned, unlike those who cross by land or climb the border fence. The Spanish government argued that people smuggling networks had exploited public misunderstanding of the ruling to encourage migrants to attempt the dangerous crossing. Some Moroccan rights activists questioned that explanation, saying many migrants were unlikely to have known about the legal decision. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was expected to visit Ceuta after local authorities requested military assistance. His government’s migration policies have come under criticism from opposition politicians, who argue that recent measures granting residency and work permits to certain undocumented migrants have encouraged more people to head for Spain. The government rejected those claims, insisting the current crisis is unrelated to its immigration reforms. The unrest also spread to Melilla, Spain’s other North African enclave, where groups of migrants attempted to cross the border and clashed with Moroccan police. Rights groups reported injuries among security personnel and dozens of arrests. Spanish officials have not yet confirmed how many migrants entered Ceuta, although media reports estimate that between 30,000 and 49,000 people crossed into the territory within a single day, placing enormous pressure on a city with a population of about 84,000.

Rosie O’Donnell is opening up about a major change in her health journey, revealing that Mounjaro has played a role in helping her feel healthier and more comfortable at 64. O’Donnell said she has reached a point where she feels better than she ever has, while reflecting on how her health has changed in recent years. (Business Insider) O’Donnell’s unexpected weight-loss experience O’Donnell explained that her doctor initially prescribed Mounjaro about three years ago to help manage her diabetes. According to the actress, weight loss was not the reason she was given the medication. She said her doctor was focused on improving her health numbers rather than changing her appearance. She acknowledged that it took until age 64 to reach this point, adding that Mounjaro was one part of the change. Her comments highlight how her experience with the medication began as part of diabetes care rather than a cosmetic weight-loss plan. Mounjaro contains tirzepatide and was approved by the FDA for treating type 2 diabetes in 2022. The same active ingredient was later approved for chronic weight management under the brand name Zepbound. (Business Insider) A personal health conversation O’Donnell is among several public figures who have spoken publicly about their experiences with GLP-1 medications. However, responses to these medications can vary, and they can cause side effects including gastrointestinal problems. At 64, O’Donnell says she feels more comfortable and healthier, describing this period of her life as one in which she has finally found a better sense of well-being.
