A$AP Rocky says Rihanna is working on new album

Rihanna may finally be preparing to end her nearly decade-long break from releasing a studio album, after her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, revealed that the global music star is currently back in the recording studio.

Speaking during a recent podcast interview, A$AP Rocky confirmed that Rihanna has been working on new music, saying she is “in the studio” and actively creating material. While he did not reveal any details about the project, his comments have renewed excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the singer’s next album.

The rapper dismissed speculation that the couple might be planning a joint album, making it clear that Rihanna is focused on her own music. He jokingly admitted that he might get into trouble for revealing that she is recording again.

Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has not released a full studio album since “Anti” in 2016. Despite her long absence from the album scene, she has continued to release a handful of singles over the years, including “Lift Me Up,” which featured in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Earlier, Rihanna had said she wanted to make sure her next album meets fans’ expectations after such a long wait. She explained that she would rather take more time than release music that does not meet her own standards.

In recent years, the Barbadian superstar has focused heavily on her business ventures. Her cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty, and fashion and lingerie businesses have become global successes, helping make her one of the world’s wealthiest entertainers.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are also raising their three children together, balancing family life with their professional careers.

During the interview, A$AP Rocky declined to comment on speculation about whether the couple had secretly married, choosing to keep their personal relationship private.

The highly anticipated film brings back several familiar faces from the original series while introducing new characters and expanding the story beyond the world audiences have previously seen. The trailer launch also offered insight into how the movie came to life, with producer and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar crediting the show’s passionate fan base for playing a major role in turning the idea into reality. According to Akhtar, the popularity of Mirzapur continued to grow after its debut, with fans across different parts of the world constantly asking when the next installment would arrive. The demand became even stronger after the movie was officially announced, as viewers began asking about its release date and eagerly following every update. Akhtar expressed his gratitude toward the audience for their continued support, saying that the movie was ultimately a result of the love and enthusiasm shown by fans over the years. He also praised the original cast as well as the new additions for helping bring the cinematic version to life. The filmmaker also recalled the unusual beginnings of the franchise. He revealed that when writer Puneet Krishna first presented the story, his initial reaction was so surprised that he jokingly thought the writer might need to see a brain specialist. However, the team eventually recognized the potential of the idea and decided to develop it into a series. Akhtar credited Krishna and director Gurmmeet Singh as key figures behind the success of the franchise. The movie’s trailer appears to continue the story established in the series, bringing back some of its most recognizable characters. Pankaj Tripathi returns as Kaleen Bhaiya, while Ali Fazal reprises his role as Guddu Pandit. Divyendu and Rasika Dugal are also part of the returning cast. One of the major changes is the addition of Jitendra Kumar, who takes over the role of Bablu Pandit, a character previously played by Vikrant Massey. His inclusion adds another interesting element to the film and has already attracted attention from viewers familiar with the original series. The struggle for power also appears to become much larger in the movie. While the previous storylines focused heavily on the Purvanchal region, the new chapter promises to take the rivalry into unfamiliar territory, including desert landscapes. The trailer hints at an intense battle involving Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna Tripathi and Guddu Pandit, with political figures and rival gangs becoming increasingly involved in the conflict. As alliances shift and the fight for control grows more dangerous, the movie appears set to deliver the violence, drama and suspense that made Mirzapur a fan favorite. With its original stars, new additions and a much bigger setting, Mirzapur: The Movie is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated adaptations of the popular Indian web series.

Govt moves SC against Imran’s hospital transfer

A request for an early hearing has been filed in the Supreme Court against its August 18 order concerning the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a private hospital. The application was filed by the Islamabad Chief Commissioner, who has asked the Supreme Court to urgently hear a review petition challenging its earlier directions regarding Imran Khan. In the review petition, the petitioner has sought a review, amendment and withdrawal of the August 18 order. The petition specifically challenges the direction to transfer the PTI founder from Adiala Jail to a private hospital. The application also challenges the court’s directions concerning his medical examination and treatment by a medical panel. According to the petition, the matter is not limited to the provision of medical facilities. It also involves questions relating to the legal and constitutional jurisdiction of the court and the authorities concerned. The review petition raises legal questions regarding the scope of judicial jurisdiction following the 27th Constitutional Amendment. It also refers to Article 175(2) of the Constitution and relevant prison laws. The petitioner has argued that the Supreme Court’s August 18 order was subject to a specific timeline, making an early hearing of the review petition necessary. The Islamabad administration has therefore requested the apex court to take up the matter on an urgent basis and reconsider the directions concerning Imran Khan’s transfer, medical examination and treatment. The development comes as authorities seek legal clarification over the implementation of the Supreme Court’s directions concerning the PTI founder’s medical care while he remains in custody.

Travis Kelce calls Taylor Swift his wife while reflecting on wedding

Travis Kelce is openly embracing married life, recently referring to Taylor Swift as his “wife” while sharing a few personal details about their wedding during a media appearance. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke about his newlywed life on Wednesday, August 12, while addressing reporters at the team’s training camp. During the press conference, Kelce was asked about the significance of getting married at Madison Square Garden, one of New York City’s most iconic sporting venues. Kelce explained that performing at or attending an important event at the legendary arena had been a longtime personal dream. He recalled wanting to attend a playoff game involving the New York Knicks but said he previously missed the opportunity because he was busy with football commitments. Referring to Swift’s appearance at the Knicks’ Game 4 NBA Finals matchup on June 10, 2026, Kelce jokingly noted that his wife had managed to experience the venue before him. He said it was particularly meaningful to finally fulfill his childhood dream by getting married at the famous arena. Kelce described Madison Square Garden as the “Mecca” of sports venues and said having his wedding there made the occasion feel even more special. The NFL star also found a humorous way to discuss the weather, joking about the intense New York City heat. He praised the arena’s air conditioning, saying it was working perfectly during the celebration. While discussing his offseason, Kelce became more sentimental and described his wedding as the “best night” of his life. He expressed appreciation for everyone who attended and helped celebrate the couple’s special occasion. “It was a fun offseason,” Kelce said, adding that the wedding was the highlight before turning his attention back to football. His comments offered a rare glimpse into how meaningful the celebration was for him. Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement on August 26, 2025. They later exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden in New York City in front of nearly 1,000 guests. The star-studded guest list reportedly included Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Hugh Grant, Jennifer Lopez, Jason Sudeikis, Jimmy Fallon, Dakota Johnson, Mariska Hargitay, Zoë Kravitz, Karlie Kloss, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Benson Boone and several other high-profile names. The ceremony was officiated by their friend Adam Sandler. The couple also opted for a less traditional wedding party arrangement. Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honour, while Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, took on the role of best man. Following the ceremony, celebratory messages appeared on the jumbotrons outside Madison Square Garden, announcing the newlyweds with the words, “JUST T&T MARRIED!” Now that the wedding celebrations are behind them, Kelce appears ready to begin the next chapter of his life while returning his full attention to the football season.

Ariana Grande’s Petal video sparks fresh health concerns

Ariana Grande has once again become the centre of online discussion after the release of her new music video for Petal, with fans expressing renewed concern over the singer’s noticeably slim appearance. While many praised the video’s creative direction, others said they were worried about Grande’s health, reigniting a debate that has followed the pop star for several years. In one of the video’s opening scenes, Grande appears at an audition wearing a Grease-inspired outfit consisting of black leggings, an off-the-shoulder black top, a matching neck scarf, vintage-style sunglasses, pearl earrings, black heels and a leather jacket draped over her shoulder. Her signature ponytail was styled into tight curls as she joined a group of aspiring actresses in a choreographed waiting-room dance sequence. Soon after the video’s release, social media platforms were flooded with reactions. Many fans admired the song and visuals but admitted they were distracted by Grande’s appearance. One fan wrote: “She is extremely thin and it’s concerning.” Another commented: “I think people are allowed to be concerned for her health.” A third person remarked: “Bones are literally popping out.” Another fan wrote: “As an Ari fan, the song and video are absolutely incredible concepts and incredibly executed but honestly all I can think about is how I hope she’s okay because she literally looks ill. She needs to get help.” However, many others rushed to Grande’s defence, arguing that constant public discussion about her body amounts to body-shaming rather than genuine concern. One supporter wrote: “If y’all actually cared about her you wouldn’t be publicly making comments about her body.” Another added: “Leave her body alone. Ariana doesn’t exist for your commentary. She’s out here meeting fans, dropping Petal, and living her life. Her weight is not a public discussion. Body-shaming a woman for being thin is still body-shaming.” A third fan posted: “CLOCK THEM, ARIANA GRANDE. THEY BETTER STOP COMMENTING ON HER BODY, HER WEIGHT, OR HER LOOKS. It’s weird, it’s unnecessary, and she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation for how she looks.” The renewed discussion echoes comments Grande herself made in 2024 when she spoke about the pressure women face over their appearance. During an interview, the singer admitted that public scrutiny can be painful. “I think that it’s something that is uncomfortable no matter what scale you’re experiencing it on.” She also described comments about a person’s weight as: “Uncomfortable” and “horrible.” Grande further explained that society has become far too comfortable commenting on other people’s appearance, saying: “There’s a comfortability that people have commenting on that that I think is really dangerous.” Despite the ongoing debate, Petal has been warmly received for its music and visual storytelling, with many fans urging others to focus on Grande’s artistry rather than her physical appearance. The latest conversation once again highlights the growing discussion around celebrity privacy, body image and the impact of online commentary on public figures.
