Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin officially opens new building
Marking 15 years of trust and stepping into the future of healthcare
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin held the official opening ceremony for its new building, marking another important milestone in the hospital’s development as it celebrates 15 years of service. The new building reflects the hospital’s commitment to enhancing its medical capabilities while improving the overall patient care experience, helping to support the growth of Hua Hin and the surrounding region.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr Nopporn Wutthikul, Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality. Also in attendance were Dr Poramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Senior Executive Committee, Group 1, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited; Mr Sripop Sarasas, Chief Administrative Officer of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited; Dr Metinee Maipang, Chief Executive Officer, Group 1, Bangkok Hospital; hospital executives; and honoured guests from the public and private sectors, who joined to witness the occasion.
Mr Nopporn Wutthikul said: “The opening of Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin’s new building is another important step in the development of Hua Hin’s public health services. It will greatly benefit residents and tourists, both Thai and foreign. Having a high-quality medical facility will help strengthen confidence in Hua Hin as a tourism destination and a city with a high quality of life, ready to support sustainable growth in the future.”
During the event, Dr Weerasak Pongpattanapan, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Group 1, Bangkok Hospital, delivered a presentation on the topic “Built on Trust, Expanding with Care: A foundation of trust, expanding towards comprehensive care.”
Dr Weerasak said: “The new extension building at Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin has been part of the hospital’s master plan since the first day of its establishment and has been developed in line with Hua Hin’s growth. The building has been designed according to international green building standards, with the aim of achieving LEED Platinum certification. It also reflects BDMS’s approach to sustainable development and its commitment to continuing to grow alongside the Hua Hin community in the future.”
Guests then looked back on the hospital’s journey through a video presentation titled “15 Years of Trust, Growing Together with Hua Hin”, which reflected Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin’s role in caring for the health of residents and visitors over the past 15 years.
Dr Asawin Phuwatanasan, Director of Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin, then presented the hospital’s vision under the topic “The Future of Healthcare Excellence: Stepping into the future of healthcare.” He outlined the hospital’s future development plans and shared the design concept behind the new building, which combines medical innovation with architecture and art.
Dr Asawin said: “This building is not simply an expansion of our service area. It has been designed under the concept of a healing environment. We believe that a hospital should not only be a place for medical treatment, but also a place that helps heal the mind. This is why art, nature and the identity of Hua Hin have been combined with modern healthcare inside the building, creating a warm, relaxing and friendly atmosphere that supports the recovery of patients and their families.”
Another highlight of the event was a presentation titled “The inspiration behind the hospital’s paintings” by Ajarn Tawee Kesa-ngam, co-founder and director of Baan Sillapin Hua Hin. He shared the inspiration behind the artworks created for the new building, drawing on Hua Hin’s distinctive identity, including its natural surroundings, the sea, the railway station and the way of life of the local community. The works were created to help form a beautiful, warm and meaningful healing space.
The event also included a charity auction of paintings, with all proceeds donated to the Vejdusit Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, Princess of Naradhiwas, to support assistance for underprivileged patients.
Towards the end of the event, honoured guests enjoyed a special performance by Jennifer Kim, who performed songs under the theme “Growing with Heart”. Guests then toured the new building, which has been designed to support specialised medical services, modern medical technology and service areas that meet the needs of comprehensive patient care.
The opening of the new building marks another important step for Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin as it continues its healthcare mission with international medical standards. The hospital will continue to develop its innovation, personnel and medical services in order to provide the best possible care for patients while growing sustainably alongside the Hua Hin community.
