Banglamung Presses Ahead with Drug Crackdown: 90-Day Operation Nets 7 Dealers, 20 Users and Large Seizures of Meth and Ice in South Pattaya and Third Road
Pattaya, Thailand – July 25th, 2026 – Under the government’s drug prevention and suppression policy, Chonburi Governor Narit Niramaiwong and Banglamung District Chief Anusak Phiriyamon ordered Deputy District Chief for Security Affairs Khamphrai Lao-saen to lead a coordinated operation. Village Defense Volunteers (Or Sor), Bang Lamung administrative officers and a rapid-response special operations unit worked jointly with police from Pattaya City Police Station to launch the “90 Days to Eradicate Drugs” campaign, continuing the push to dismantle drug networks and users in the area.
Authorities acted on tip-offs from informants and public complaints that several daily-rental rooms along Pattaya Third Road and in South Pattaya, were being used for gatherings and drug dealing. After gathering evidence, officers planned simultaneous raids at multiple locations.
They sealed off and searched three daily-rental sites. At the first, near the Chaimongkol Temple intersection in South Pattaya, they arrested Praphas, also known as “Chai,” on drug-trafficking charges inside his room. Officers seized 29.32 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine), 189 methamphetamine pills and 2.44 grams of methamphetamine fragments. He was taken into custody along with all the evidence.
Following the initial arrest, the team expanded the operation to other daily-rental rooms in the South Pattaya area known to house people linked to the drug trade. Searches resulted in the detention of 20 individuals who tested positive for drugs; they will face legal proceedings and mandatory treatment under the law.
Officers also arrested six additional small-scale dealers:
– Thawisak, with 8.04 grams of ice and 32 meth pills;
– Waraporn, also known as “May,” with 3.90 grams of ice;
– Chokchai, with 1.60 grams of ice and 9 meth pills;
– Phakphum, with 22 meth pills;
– Chansri, with 1.83 grams of ice; and
– Arthit, 41, with 3 meth pills and 0.34 grams of ice.
In total, the operation led to the arrest of seven suspected dealers, the seizure of substantial quantities of methamphetamine pills and ice, and the detention of 20 people found with drugs in their systems. All suspects and evidence were handed over to investigators at Pattaya City Police Station for further legal action, with efforts continuing to track down remaining members of the network still at large.
Banglamung administrative officials confirmed they will intensify and sustain the “90 Days to Eradicate Drugs” campaign to dismantle trafficking networks, enhance public safety and achieve concrete reductions in drug problems across the district.
