Elizabeth Hurley has opened up about her relationship with Miley Cyrus, revealing that she admired the singer long before she began dating Miley’s father, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus. The actress shared that while she had never met Miley before her romance with Billy Ray, she already felt she knew the Grammy-winning star thanks to her son, Damian Hurley. 

Speaking during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Hurley explained that Damian was a huge fan of Hannah Montana and Miley’s music while growing up. As a result, she became very familiar with the pop icon’s career and personality long before their families became connected.

“I always knew who she was,” Hurley said, adding that her son frequently played Miley’s music and watched her videos. She joked that she had seen the music video for “Wrecking Ball” countless times because of Damian’s enthusiasm. Looking back, Hurley admitted she had a feeling she would get along with Miley if they ever met—and that prediction turned out to be true. 

The Bedazzled actress described Miley as “adorable” and said she genuinely enjoys spending time with her. Hurley’s comments offer a glimpse into the positive relationship developing within the blended family since she and Billy Ray Cyrus confirmed their romance in early 2025. 

Hurley and Billy Ray first crossed paths while filming the 2022 holiday movie Christmas in Paradise. Although they remained friends for some time, their relationship eventually blossomed into romance, which they made public in April 2025. Since then, the couple has frequently spoken about how much they enjoy each other’s company and the peaceful lifestyle they share between Tennessee and the English countryside. 

Miley has also publicly expressed support for both of her parents finding happiness following their separation. Reports indicate that she has welcomed Hurley warmly, helping create a positive atmosphere within the extended family. Hurley and Billy Ray even attended the London premiere of Miley’s visual album in 2025, showing their support for the singer’s career. 

Hurley’s heartfelt remarks suggest that her admiration for Miley began years before her romance with Billy Ray. Rather than seeing Miley only as a global superstar, the actress remembers her through the joyful memories she shared with her son. Now that their paths have crossed personally, Hurley says her first impression was right—she always believed she would like Miley, and today, she says that feeling has only grown stronger.

    Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has highlighted the key provisions of the landmark Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, stressing that any external armed attack on Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Türkiye will be considered an attack on all three countries. Dar said the agreement, signed in Makkah Mukarramah on 7 August 2026, reflects the depth of the brotherly relations between the three nations and is the culmination of years of consultations and strategic coordination. Under the accord, an external armed attack against any one of the three countries will be considered an attack against all, consistent with the right of individual and collective self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The Foreign Minister stressed that the agreement is purely defensive in nature and is not directed against any country. He said the accord is intended to strengthen cooperation in confronting shared peace and security challenges while promoting regional stability and prosperity. Dar also clarified that the Makkah Accord does not replace or abrogate any existing bilateral or multilateral agreements between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, or their agreements with other countries and international organisations. Another significant provision, he said, is that the agreement remains open to other countries in the region willing to uphold its fundamental principles and resolve differences through mutual respect, cooperation and peaceful means. Dar reaffirmed that the agreement is consistent with Pakistan’s foreign policy and said Islamabad would continue working with all brotherly countries towards lasting peace and stability. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and to building a more secure, stable and prosperous future for the peoples of the region.

    KARACHI: Signs of reconciliation have begun to emerge within the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) after a violent confrontation at the party’s Bahadurabad headquarters, with senior leaders initiating behind-the-scenes contacts to ease tensions and restore unity. Two days after the clash, senior party figures, including Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani, visited the party’s central office to discuss organizational affairs. Speaking to reporters, Mustafa Kamal rejected speculation of an internal power struggle, insisting that the party remained united despite recent events. According to sources, communication has been established between the two rival camps—one led by Mustafa Kamal and the other by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui—in an effort to defuse tensions. A joint press conference is reportedly being considered as part of efforts to present a united front, although party leaders have neither confirmed nor denied the possibility. Notably, close associates of Siddiqui, who also serves as the party’s convener, did not attend the meeting at the headquarters. Despite the passage of two days since the confrontation, which reportedly involved a physical altercation and aerial firing, police have yet to register a First Information Report (FIR). Officials said no faction of the party has formally approached law enforcement to lodge a complaint. If neither side files a case, authorities are expected to register one on behalf of the state. Police sources said a draft FIR has already been prepared and is awaiting approval from senior officials before being formally registered. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have carried out raids and detained several MQM-P office-bearers and workers suspected of involvement in the violence. Officials said those currently in custody could face formal arrest once the FIR is registered, as investigations into the incident continue.
