Nadia Khan is one of Pakistan’s most recognisable television personalities. The actress married retired Pakistan Air Force officer Faisal Rao in January 2021. Since then, the couple has been living in Karachi and has largely kept their personal life away from the public eye. Although Nadia remains active on social media, she rarely shares family-related content and has stepped away from family vlogging because of her busy schedule with Kya Drama Hai and Rise & Shine.
In recent days, Nadia’s limited posts about her personal life led to speculation from several YouTube channels, which claimed that she and Faisal Rao had divorced.     Japan backs stronger, deeper Pakistan partnership

    Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Akamatsu Shuichi has reaffirmed Tokyo’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding relationship with Pakistan. In a message ahead of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, the Japanese envoy conveyed greetings to the Pakistani government and people on behalf of Japan. Speaking in Urdu in a video message, Ambassador Shuichi highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two countries and expressed hope for deeper cooperation in the coming years. He noted that Pakistan and Japan will mark the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2027. The ambassador said both countries would continue working as trusted partners to promote peace, development and stability. He also pledged to further strengthen friendly relations between Tokyo and Islamabad. Shuichi concluded his message by expressing confidence in the continued bond between the two nations and saying, “Japan-Pakistan Dosti Zindabad.” The ambassador’s message comes shortly after Pakistan and Japan signed a grant agreement worth 350 million Japanese yen, equivalent to around $2.2 million, to strengthen the Human Resources Development Scholarship Programme. The initiative, known as the JDS programme, will expand opportunities for Pakistani civil servants to receive postgraduate education and professional training in Japan. Under the agreement, 17 federal government officials will receive scholarships. Sixteen will pursue master’s degrees, while one official will undertake a PhD programme. Economic Affairs Secretary Muhammad Hameer Karim and Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi signed the Record of Discussions for the programme. Senior Joint Secretary Miran Mohiuddin Soomro and JICA Chief Representative Yusuke Shinazaki signed the grant agreement. The scholarship programme is expected to contribute to human resource development and strengthen institutional links between Pakistan and Japan.

    KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has announced a significant hydrocarbon discovery at its operated Sarani Block in Sindh’s Sujawal district, opening fresh prospects for exploration in the country’s shallow offshore and swampy onshore regions. The discovery was made at the Dolphin X-1 exploratory well, where PPL identified hydrocarbons in the Chiltan Formation of the Lower Indus Basin. The company described it as the first reported hydrocarbon discovery from the Jurassic-age Chiltan Formation in the basin. PPL said the find could expand exploration opportunities in adjoining shallow offshore areas and strengthen the hydrocarbon potential of Pakistan’s low-depth marine zones. The region had remained largely unexplored for years because of its challenging geological and geographical conditions. Drilling of Dolphin X-1 began on April 17, 2026, with the well reaching a measured depth of 3,850 metres to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of the Chiltan Formation. Analysis of drilling results and wireline logs subsequently identified a hydrocarbon-bearing zone. During testing, the well produced gas from the Chiltan Formation at a rate of 0.942 million standard cubic feet per day. The gas recorded a heating value of 1,000 British thermal units per standard cubic foot, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 211 pounds per square inch gauge through a 64/32-inch choke. PPL holds a 75 per cent working interest in the Sarani Block and serves as its operator, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited owns the remaining 25 per cent stake. The company said the well was drilled and tested using the expertise of its technical teams. The results have led to the identification of a new hydrocarbon play within the Chiltan Limestone, potentially providing a foundation for further exploration in the surrounding onshore and shallow offshore areas.

    Regal Chowk to be renamed Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk

    KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced that Regal Chowk will officially be renamed Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH) Chowk. The decision was announced during his visit to the historic intersection along with the Municipal Commissioner and members of the City Council. The mayor said the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) would carry out extensive renovation and beautification work at the site before the start of Rabi-ul-Awwal. He said the project aims to improve the appearance of the area while reflecting the significance of the holy month. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said the city administration had already started preparations for Rabi-ul-Awwal. He added that special arrangements would be made across Karachi to facilitate religious gatherings and ensure that citizens could observe the month in a peaceful and clean environment. He said a comprehensive cleanliness campaign would be launched throughout the city. Sanitation staff would remain active in all districts to maintain hygiene around mosques, religious processions and public places. Waste collection and disposal operations would also be intensified during the month. The mayor announced that decorative lighting and beautification work would be carried out on major roads, intersections and important public buildings. He said these measures were intended to create a festive atmosphere during Rabi-ul-Awwal. He recalled that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had successfully managed civic arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram. According to him, similar planning would be implemented during Rabi-ul-Awwal to provide better services to the public. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said all relevant civic departments, including sanitation, engineering, municipal services and emergency response teams, would remain on high alert throughout the holy month. He directed officials to ensure uninterrupted public services and respond promptly to any issues.

    Bus crash on Hungarian highway kills twelve Polish…

    Twelve people died and dozens more sustained injuries after a bus carrying Polish pilgrims veered off a motorway in Hungary and crashed into a ditch early Sunday. Police said the bus overturned after leaving the M3 motorway, which links the Hungarian capital Budapest with the northeastern city of Nyíregyháza, at around 1:00 a.m. local time, or 2300 GMT Saturday. Investigators believe the driver fell asleep at the wheel, and he has since been taken into custody. State media reported that firefighters have rescued 35 of the 57 passengers and two drivers who were aboard the bus. According to the Hungarian news agency MTI, emergency crews initially worked to lift the rear axle of the 24 tonne vehicle to free people trapped underneath before cranes arrived on scene to lift the entire bus. Hungary’s ambulance service said it treated one person with life threatening injuries, nine others with serious injuries and 37 more with minor injuries following the crash. Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar offered his condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a swift recovery. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk echoed those sentiments and said he had ordered a special Polish aircraft carrying foreign ministry officials and medical personnel to travel to the scene, saying Poland stands together with those affected during the difficult moment. The bus had been returning from Bosnia and Herzegovina and was carrying pilgrims from Poland’s southernmost region of Podkarpacie, according to the Polish news agency PAP. Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said his Hungarian counterpart informed him that police had already begun questioning the driver as part of the investigation into the crash.
