Faisal Quraishi urges Mohammad Ahmed to expose actor’s identity

Pakistani actor Faisal Quraishi has reacted to veteran actor and writer Mohammad Ahmed’s recent claims about being humiliated by a fellow actor during the filming of two projects.

The controversy began after Mohammad Ahmed appeared on a podcast and recalled what he described as repeated disrespectful behavior from a younger actor. Although he chose not to reveal the actor’s identity, his remarks quickly gained attention on social media and sparked widespread discussion within the entertainment industry.

Responding to the viral interview, Faisal Quraishi shared a clip of Mohammad Ahmed’s comments on his Instagram Story and urged him to identify the person involved. In his post, Faisal wrote, “Please tell us the name, Sir Mohammad Ahmed. I should know, and then so should everyone else.”

During the podcast, Mohammad Ahmed said that actors often reveal their true personalities behind the scenes rather than in front of the cameras. He explained that he had experienced such behavior several times throughout his career but had chosen to remain silent.

The senior actor recalled working with a much younger performer, whom he said was nearly 40 years younger than him. According to Mohammad Ahmed, the actor frequently mocked him on set and made sarcastic remarks in front of the cast and crew.

He alleged that the actor once ridiculed his leather bag loudly to attract attention from others. On another occasion, the same actor reportedly questioned why directors continued to cast Mohammad Ahmed, claiming that both his acting style and hairstyle never changed.

Mohammad Ahmed also described another incident in which the actor allegedly picked up a handheld fan from a female co-star and jokingly waved it over his head as though styling his hair with a hair dryer. The gesture, he said, was intended to mock his baldness and embarrass him in front of everyone present.

Reflecting on the incidents, Mohammad Ahmed admitted that the comments hurt him but said he deliberately chose not to respond. He explained that in today’s environment, anyone can record a video on a mobile phone and upload it online in a way that could damage someone’s reputation.

“I know I am bald, I know I have a dark complexion, and I know I am short,” he said, adding that he can laugh at himself. However, he noted that hearing such remarks from someone decades younger felt deeply disrespectful.

The veteran actor revealed that he worked with the same individual on two separate projects and endured repeated criticism about his appearance and acting without reacting. He said he wanted to avoid lowering himself to the same level and did not wish to create problems for the production team, whom he described as respectful and supportive.

Mohammad Ahmed also stressed that the behavior of one individual should not define an entire generation. He praised many younger performers for being professional and specifically commended actress Aina Asif, describing her as a talented and thoughtful artist who focuses on performance rather than appearance.

Lahore High Court rules abused women retain dower rights following divorce

The Lahore High Court has ruled that a woman who seeks a divorce on the grounds of her husband’s cruelty, abuse, or marital misconduct is not automatically deprived of her right to receive her unpaid dower, known as haq mehr. Delivering the judgment, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani dismissed a petition filed by a man challenging lower court decisions in Toba Tek Singh that awarded 50 percent of a deferred dower to his former wife, Nisha Shahid. The petitioner argued that under family law provisions, the court lacked a legal basis to grant dower following a khula dissolution. However, the High Court drew a clear distinction between a standard khula, where a woman seeks separation solely due to personal incompatibility, and a judicial dissolution triggered by a husband’s mistreatment. The court clarified that abuse encompasses physical violence as well as psychological, emotional, verbal, and economic misconduct, noting that a wife is not required to present formal medical reports or police filings to establish her claim. The ruling directed Family Courts to assess the underlying causes of a marital breakdown rather than stripping a woman of her dower rights purely because the separation is categorized as a khula. Additionally, the Lahore High Court recommended that the Punjab government and the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan update relevant family laws to ensure clear determinations of fault in dower disputes.

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ trailer is here and the internet has thoughts

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana finally gave fans what they were waiting for. The trailer dropped today at 4:15 am, timed deliberately with the Brahma Muhurat. It offered the clearest glimpse yet of the mythological epic, and reactions began pouring in within minutes. The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Yash as Ravana. The trailer begins with Ravana making a forceful entrance at a palace. He is met with resistance but responds with sheer power, announcing the start of his rule. As fear spreads across the realms, Lord Vishnu is reborn as Prince Ram, son of King Dasharatha, played by Arun Govil. The story then moves through Ram’s battles with demons alongside his brother Lakshman. It builds toward the pivotal moment when Queen Kaikeyi, played by Lara Dutta, forces Dasharatha to keep an old vow. This leads to Ram being exiled for fourteen years. Sita refuses to remain behind and insists on joining him. Compared to the earlier teaser, this trailer puts more emphasis on the scale of Ayodhya and Lanka. It relies less on fantastical creatures and focuses more on emotional depth. One notable absence is Hanuman, who does not appear even briefly, suggesting his big entrance is being saved for part two. Reactions online were loud and divided. Several viewers praised the visuals, music, and overall production value, with some calling it a landmark moment for Indian cinema. Others pushed back, especially given the film’s reported Rs 4,000 crore budget, arguing that certain shots still look unfinished or overly digital. Ranbir’s take on Rama became a major point of discussion too. Some fans appreciated his calm, restrained energy, saying it fit the character’s traditional image. Others were unconvinced, feeling his performance leaned too casual for the role. Yash, meanwhile, seemed to win over almost everyone. Fans repeatedly praised his screen presence as Ravana, calling it one of the standout aspects of the trailer. A few viewers also flagged Hanuman’s absence, while others felt the design of Kumbhkaran looked slightly cartoonish. The film’s score comes from A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, with VFX handled by DNEG. Music rights for both parts have reportedly been secured by T-Series in a Rs 75 crore deal. Ramayana’s part one releases globally on November 8, coinciding with Diwali, with part two expected in 2027.
