Govinda hits back at wife Sunita over ‘sugar daddy’ claims

Govinda has finally responded after wife Sunita Ahuja publicly accused him of having an affair with his “Roopa” co-star, Komal Rani Swarnkar. Sunita had reportedly called him a “sugar daddy” in connection with the actress.

The 62-year-old actor addressed his wife’s remarks at length, saying they were actively damaging both his reputation and his career. He pointed out that Sunita had once relied on his help for her own shows during the lockdown period.

Now that he has begun work on a new film, Govinda claimed his wife seems determined to make sure he loses public goodwill or faces professional setbacks. He said her comments felt deliberately aimed at hurting his business.

The actor also spoke more broadly about people from modest backgrounds entering the film industry. He said such newcomers shouldn’t be humiliated to the point where they feel scared enough to walk away from their careers entirely.

Addressing the age-gap criticism surrounding his pairing with Komal, Govinda noted that several senior actors have worked alongside younger co-stars while still appearing youthful on screen. He suggested his wife seemed unwilling to accept that he could still look youthful himself.

He further claimed that a specific group was actively working to damage his public image. Govinda appealed directly to Sunita, asking her to show some restraint and stop making public statements about the matter.

He also criticised his wife for using abusive language in her recent comments. Govinda warned that young fans following her online could end up imitating that kind of behaviour if it continues.

The controversy comes as Govinda and Komal have been making joint public appearances recently while promoting “Roopa.” The two were first spotted together at Mumbai airport, months after Sunita had hinted that the woman allegedly involved with her husband was a newcomer to the industry.

They were seen together again on Friday, reigniting public interest in the ongoing dispute. As of now, Sunita has not issued a fresh public response to her husband’s latest remarks.

Iran holds fresh talks with Pakistan and Saudi Ara…

ISLAMABAD: Iran has intensified its diplomatic engagement with key regional partners by holding another round of high-level discussions with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as efforts continue to ease tensions and prevent a wider conflict in the Middle East. According to Iranian state media, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by telephone on Monday with Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The conversations marked the second round of talks between the leaders within 24 hours, reflecting the urgency of ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at preserving regional peace and stability. During the discussions, the leaders exchanged views on the latest political and diplomatic developments and stressed the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to resolve tensions through dialogue rather than confrontation. They agreed that political engagement remains the most effective path toward ensuring lasting security across West Asia. The renewed diplomatic outreach comes shortly after US President Donald Trump announced that Washington had suspended planned military strikes against Iran and would resume negotiations with Tehran. While Trump claimed that regional countries had helped establish the framework for renewed talks, Iran rejected suggestions that it had requested a pause in hostilities. Nevertheless, Tehran has continued consultations with influential regional capitals to support diplomatic efforts. The upcoming negotiations between the United States and Iran are expected to focus on Tehran’s nuclear program and the future of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime trade routes. The waterway remains under heavy international attention due to its critical role in global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments. Iran has maintained that any military action by the United States, Israel, or any regional country supporting such operations would receive a firm and proportionate response. The warning follows months of heightened confrontation that began after military operations launched by the United States and Israel earlier this year, citing concerns over Iran’s missile capabilities, nuclear ambitions, and support for allied armed groups. The prolonged conflict has disrupted shipping across the Gulf and Red Sea, pushed global energy prices higher, and increased fears of broader regional instability. Although Washington has repeatedly signaled the possibility of military escalation, diplomatic channels remain active as regional powers work to prevent the crisis from expanding further. With fresh talks now on the horizon, Iran’s latest engagement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia underscores the growing role of regional diplomacy in seeking a peaceful resolution to one of the Middle East’s most challenging security crises.

Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet slow down romance

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are reportedly happy with the current stage of their relationship and are not planning to rush into an engagement, despite being together for several years. According to a recent report, the couple remains deeply committed to each other but prefers to allow their relationship to develop naturally rather than making immediate plans for marriage. A source reportedly described Jenner and Chalamet as being very much in love and said they are comfortable with how their relationship is progressing. The couple has apparently chosen not to put pressure on themselves to take the next major step. The pair have also continued spending time together away from the spotlight. They recently enjoyed a getaway with Jenner’s sister Kendall Jenner and her boyfriend, actor Jacob Elordi. The two couples reportedly spent time together in Malibu during the trip. Jenner and Chalamet have become increasingly comfortable appearing together publicly throughout 2026. They have been spotted at several high-profile events, including the Critics Choice Awards, the Oscars, the NBA Finals and the World Cup Final. Earlier reports also suggested that the couple is in a strong place emotionally. Sources close to them have described their relationship as supportive, with both reportedly enjoying each other’s company and feeling comfortable together. Friends and family are said to be positive about the relationship, with those close to the couple believing they could remain together for the long term. However, neither Jenner nor Chalamet appears to be treating engagement as an immediate priority. How their relationship began Jenner and Chalamet were first linked romantically in 2023 after reportedly interacting at an event during Paris Fashion Week earlier that year. Their relationship attracted widespread attention after they were publicly seen together at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour concert in Los Angeles in September 2023. At the time, reports described their romance as relaxed and uncomplicated, with Chalamet praised for being affectionate and supportive toward Jenner. The couple later reached another major milestone when they made their red-carpet debut together at the David Di Donatello Awards in Rome in May 2025. Since then, Jenner and Chalamet have continued to maintain a relatively private relationship while occasionally appearing together at major events.

Harrison Ford refuses to slow down as he announces…

Harrison Ford is proving that age is no reason to stop exploring new adventures. At 84, the legendary actor has surprised Indiana Jones fans with major news about his iconic character. Ford announced that he will be part of a new Indiana Jones attraction coming to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. The attraction, titled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, will take guests on a dangerous journey inspired by Maya culture and legends. (Disney Parks Blog) The announcement came during Disney’s D23 event in Anaheim on August 15. Ford appeared in a prerecorded video message and revealed that, for the first time, he will serve as the actual model for an Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronics figure. (People.com) For fans, the news is especially exciting because Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was widely expected to be Ford’s final appearance as the legendary archaeologist. The 2023 movie was presented as the fifth and final film in the franchise. (Wikipedia) This new project does not mean Ford is returning for another Indiana Jones movie. Instead, his likeness will help bring the character to life inside the upcoming Disney attraction. The ride will be located in the new Tropical Americas area of Animal Kingdom. According to Disney, the story follows Indiana Jones as he explores an ancient temple near an underground cave known as a cenote. Riders will eventually be pulled into a mysterious underworld filled with dangerous creatures, fire, snakes and other obstacles. (Disney Parks Blog) The attraction will also feature a giant serpent known as the Tsukán. Disney says the story has been developed with archaeologists, anthropologists and Maya experts to create a setting inspired by the region’s culture and history. (Disney Parks Blog) Ford’s involvement adds an extra layer of nostalgia to the project. He has played Indiana Jones for more than four decades, beginning with Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981. His performance helped turn the character into one of cinema’s most recognizable action heroes. Although Ford has previously suggested that Dial of Destiny marked his final journey as Indy on the big screen, his latest announcement shows that he is not quite finished with the character. (Wikipedia) The new attraction is expected to open in 2027 as part of Disney World’s expanding Tropical Americas land. (WDW Magic) For longtime fans, seeing Ford’s likeness return as Indiana Jones will be a nostalgic moment. And while this may not be another movie adventure, it proves that the legendary archaeologist still has plenty of life left in him.

Fake Iranian statements allegedly used to push nuc…

TEL AVIV: An Israeli journalist has alleged that a fabricated statement attributed to an Iranian official was circulated as part of an effort to portray Tehran as actively seeking to develop nuclear weapons. According to Israeli journalist Ronen Bergman, a false statement was allegedly created and attributed to Ahmad Vahidi, a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The fabricated remarks purportedly claimed that Iran was developing nuclear weapons. Bergman said the alleged fake statement was initially circulated through the social media account of a Hindu extremist in India before being amplified by a number of prominent Israeli and US-linked accounts and figures. He alleged that the material was subsequently shared by accounts associated with Israel’s Mossad, an Israeli television channel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the US ambassador to the United Nations. The claims have raised questions about the role of disinformation in the highly sensitive debate surrounding Iran’s nuclear programme, particularly amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Israel. The allegation is significant because claims about Iran’s nuclear ambitions have repeatedly featured in political and security debates in the region. Any fabricated statement presented as an authentic admission could potentially influence public opinion and international perceptions. However, the reported allegations concern the authenticity and circulation of the statement rather than independently establishing the broader question of Iran’s nuclear intentions. The development highlights how rapidly unverified material can spread across social media and be amplified by influential accounts, especially during periods of heightened geopolitical tension. The claims attributed to Bergman are likely to fuel further debate over information warfare, source verification and the use of alleged intelligence-related material in the ongoing Iran-Israel confrontation.

British social media personality and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been found not guilty of raping a fan in his hotel room following a performance in Hillarys, Western Australia. A jury at the District Court of Western Australia in Perth delivered the verdict on Friday after an eight-day trial, acquitting the 30-year-old on three counts of sexual penetration without consent, an assault charge involving an alleged slap, and a choking charge. However, the jury convicted Barrientos on two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm related to bite marks inflicted on the woman’s neck and breast during the encounter. The jury remained hung on three additional counts of sexual penetration without consent. Barrientos, who denied all charges and maintained that the acts were consensual, wept as the decision was announced. Türkiye condemns Black Sea drone strikes on cargo…

ISTANBUL: Türkiye has strongly condemned drone attacks on two commercial cargo vessels in the Black Sea, warning that continued assaults on civilian shipping could jeopardize international maritime trade and global food security. According to international media reports, the vessels were attacked shortly after departing Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that several crew members were injured in the incidents and said their condition is being closely monitored. In a statement, the ministry expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea, noting that repeated warnings about the risks to civilian navigation have gone unheeded. It stressed that disruptions to commercial shipping could have serious consequences for global trade routes and food supply chains. Ankara urged all parties involved in the conflict to take immediate and effective measures to safeguard freedom of navigation and ensure the safety of commercial vessels operating in the region. Reports identified the targeted ships as Yasir and Nadezhda, sailing under the flags of Panama and Cameroon, respectively. Although registered abroad, both vessels are reportedly owned by Turkish companies. The attacks come amid a steady rise in hostilities across the Black Sea, where commercial shipping has increasingly been caught in the crossfire of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In late June, an attack near Crimea on a Turkish fishing boat left one person dead and four others injured, while another Turkish cargo ship was reportedly struck by a drone at the end of May. Meanwhile, separate security incidents have further heightened regional tensions. In the Russian-controlled Crimean city of Sevastopol, four people, including a soldier, were killed after a serviceman allegedly opened fire on both military personnel and civilians before being taken into custody. Authorities have launched an investigation into the motive behind the shooting. Elsewhere, Russian officials reported that a Ukrainian drone strike on the industrial area of Novoselki near Moscow killed five people and injured ten others. The attack also triggered multiple fires across the industrial zone. Analysts say the intensifying military activity in the Black Sea is increasing the risks to international commerce, energy transportation, and global food supplies, while further complicating efforts to ease the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
