According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the deputy prime minister paid his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool ﷺ and offered Salam. He also performed voluntary (Nafl) prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites, where millions of Muslims from around the world gather every year to worship and seek spiritual blessings.

The Foreign Office said Dar made special prayers for Pakistan’s economic development, national stability and the well-being of its people. He also prayed for unity, peace and prosperity across the Muslim world, expressing hope for harmony and progress among Islamic nations.

As part of his visit to Madinah, Dar also travelled to Jabal Uhud, a site of immense historical and religious significance in Islamic history. He visited the resting place of Hazrat Ameer Hamza (RA), the beloved uncle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and one of the most revered martyrs of the Battle of Uhud, where he offered prayers and paid his respects.

The visit reflects the spiritual aspect of Dar’s Saudi Arabia trip while highlighting Pakistan’s longstanding religious and diplomatic ties with the Kingdom. Senior Pakistani officials traditionally visit Islam’s holy sites during official engagements in Saudi Arabia, where they offer prayers for the country and the wider Muslim Ummah.

The Foreign Office noted that Dar’s prayers focused on Pakistan’s future, asking for sustained peace, economic growth and national prosperity. His visit to the Prophet’s Mosque and other sacred sites also underscored the importance of faith and spiritual reflection alongside official diplomatic engagements.

The visit comes at a time when Pakistan continues to seek economic stability and stronger cooperation with friendly countries, while reaffirming its commitment to unity and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Tanweer Ahmed urges AI skills, MicroCerts for yout…

On International Youth Day 2026, American-Pakistani businessman and analyst Tanweer Ahmed called for greater investment in young people and highlighted ACT AI and MicroCerts as key initiatives for preparing Pakistan’s youth for an artificial intelligence-driven global economy. Addressing a Youth and AI Summit at the United Nations, Ahmed said artificial intelligence was transforming education, employment, entrepreneurship, healthcare, public services and almost every aspect of modern economies. He stressed that young people should not be treated merely as beneficiaries of development but as innovators, decision-makers, entrepreneurs and leaders capable of shaping the future. “Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not,” Ahmed said, emphasising the need to close the gap between young people who have access to advanced technology and those who remain excluded from the digital economy. ACT AI initiative Ahmed placed particular emphasis on ACT AI — Awareness, Competency and Tools Training for Artificial Intelligence — describing it as an important effort to expand practical AI capabilities among Pakistani youth. He said the initiative, associated with the state-owned enterprise AXI, focuses on areas including generative AI, agentic AI systems, AI-powered productivity tools, automation and sector-specific applications. According to Ahmed, one of the initiative’s major strengths is accessibility. Young people from different academic backgrounds can develop AI-related capabilities without necessarily having prior programming or artificial intelligence experience. He said making AI education accessible and free of cost could help ensure that Pakistani students and young professionals are not left behind as the global economy rapidly adopts AI. Ahmed argued that young people should acquire the ability not only to use artificial intelligence but also to understand, question, develop and responsibly apply the technology. MicroCerts to strengthen youth credentials Ahmed also placed strong emphasis on MicroCerts, describing micro-certifications as an important complement to traditional university degrees. He said rapidly changing technology means education can no longer end when a student completes a conventional degree. Young people need flexible opportunities to continuously acquire and demonstrate new, market-relevant skills. According to Ahmed, MicroCerts can provide focused credentials that demonstrate specific competencies and potentially create pathways into employment, freelancing, entrepreneurship, higher education and lifelong learning. He highlighted the importance of making such credentials accessible to young people facing financial or geographical barriers. “The future should not belong only to those who can afford opportunity,” Ahmed said, stressing that skills and credentials should be available to talented young people regardless of where they live or their economic circumstances. From AI users to AI creators Ahmed called for a shift from preparing young people simply to consume AI tools toward enabling them to become AI creators, innovators and responsible leaders. He said technology must be combined with human judgment, ethics and responsibility, warning that artificial intelligence cannot replace compassion, character or the human responsibility to determine the kind of society people want to build. He also called for stronger international cooperation between governments, universities, businesses, technology companies and international organisations to expand AI education and establish credible skills and certification systems. Ahmed said Pakistan could contribute to this global effort through initiatives such as ACT AI and MicroCerts, which he described as mechanisms for developing practical AI capabilities and recognised skills among the country’s youth. He further stressed that the expansion of AI infrastructure must be accompanied by environmental responsibility because data centres, cloud computing and AI systems require significant energy and resources. Addressing young people around the world, Ahmed urged them to learn and question emerging technologies, use AI to solve real-world problems and build businesses and communities with a clear sense of purpose.

Aima Baig dedicates debut album to late mother

Singer Aima Baig has shared that her upcoming debut album, “Guriya,” is a heartfelt tribute to her late mother and reflects her personal journey through grief, healing and self-discovery. The singer said the album represents a significant milestone in her career and carries deep emotional value because it is inspired by the memory of her mother, who passed away in 2017. She revealed that “Guriya” was her mother’s nickname, making the title a lasting tribute to someone she continues to miss every day. Aima said losing her mother changed her life forever. She explained that grief evolves with time and becomes more meaningful as a person grows older. According to the singer, the absence of her mother remains one of the most difficult realities she continues to face despite achieving success in her career. She added that the album is not a response to criticism or public opinion but rather a reflection of her own experiences and emotions. She described the project as her story, told in her own voice and on her own terms. The singer also spoke about the emotional process of creating the album. She said working on the songs required her to revisit old memories and go through her mother’s belongings, making the experience both painful and therapeutic. She described the creative journey as emotionally intense but one that ultimately helped her heal. Aima revealed that several prominent musicians collaborated on the project, including Atif Aslam, Asim Azhar, Qasim Hasan, Raheel and Mubashir. She expressed appreciation for everyone who contributed to bringing the album to life. Discussing her personal life, Aima said spending time in London while working on new music gave her a much-needed break from the pressures of public life. She explained that the change of environment helped her overcome emotional stress, creative exhaustion and writer’s block, allowing her to focus fully on her music. The singer also addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video that allegedly showed her and singer Bilal Saeed intoxicated in London. She clarified that the footage was recorded during the filming of a project and said the situation had been widely misunderstood. According to Aima, people often form opinions without knowing the complete context behind such videos. She added that although the controversy attracted significant public attention, it unexpectedly increased interest in an unreleased song linked to the project. However, she stressed that she wants to be recognized for her music and artistic abilities rather than media controversies. Reflecting on her career, Aima said much of her youth has been lived in the public eye, with both her personal struggles and professional achievements closely followed by fans and the media. She acknowledged that many people have misconceptions about her based on headlines rather than her true personality.

Paris Jackson shares rare insights into first meet…

Paris Jackson is opening up about one of the most personal moments of her life: meeting her mother, Debbie Rowe, for the first time when she was 15. The singer and actress discussed the experience during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Looking back, Paris revealed that the meeting was much more relaxed than people might expect. Rather than being an emotional or dramatic reunion, their first encounter unfolded in a surprisingly natural way. (People.com) Paris explained that she had started asking questions about her mother when she was around 10 or 11. At the time, she was given enough information to satisfy her curiosity, including Rowe’s name, and she simply moved on. Several years later, however, Paris and Rowe finally connected when Paris was about 15. The reunion happened after years of limited contact. Rowe is the biological mother of Paris and her older brother, Prince Jackson. She was married to Michael Jackson from 1996 until their divorce in 2000, after which Michael retained full custody of their children. (EW.com) Paris recalled that when she first encountered Rowe, she was with her grandmother. Instead of making the moment overly serious, Paris greeted her mother casually, reportedly saying, “Hey, Mom.” The two then spent time together talking and getting to know each other. (Page Six) Interestingly, Paris said she did not approach the reunion with many expectations. She believes that keeping expectations low helped their relationship develop naturally instead of placing pressure on either of them. Over time, the mother-daughter relationship became stronger. Paris has previously spoken about discovering similarities between herself and Rowe, including their personalities and shared interest in music. She has also noted that they look alike and enjoy similar genres, particularly country and folk music. (Yahoo) Their bond became especially meaningful as the years passed. Paris supported Rowe during her battle with breast cancer in 2016, further strengthening their connection. More recently, Paris has continued to share glimpses of their relationship, including rare photos of the two together. The actress has also reflected on how different her relationship with Rowe is from a traditional mother-daughter bond. Because they were separated during much of Paris’ childhood, their connection developed more gradually as she grew older. Now, Paris appears grateful for the relationship they have built. Her latest comments offer a rare glimpse into a deeply personal chapter of her life and show how a simple first meeting at 15 eventually grew into a meaningful bond between mother and daughter.

Selena Gomez, Wondermind partners sued by investors

American singer and actress Selena Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey and former business partner Daniella Pierson are facing a lawsuit from investors in Wondermind, a mental health startup co-founded by Gomez. The investors have accused the three of misleading them about the company’s financial condition, business activities and future plans. The lawsuit was filed in a Delaware court on Thursday. According to the complaint, two groups of investors collectively invested nearly $1.2 million in Wondermind. They allege that the company’s founders and executives made representations about its business that did not match reality. The investors have brought several claims, including securities fraud, common-law fraud and breach of contract. They allege that they were kept unaware of serious problems within the company while their money continued to fund its operations. Wondermind was launched in 2021 with a focus on mental fitness. The company promotes practical ways for people to prioritise their mental wellbeing in everyday life. Gomez is identified as a co-founder of the startup, while Teefey served as its chief executive. Pierson was also a co-founder but left the company in 2023 following reported disagreements with Teefey. The investors claim they were encouraged to put money into Wondermind after being told about major commercial opportunities. These allegedly included partnerships with companies such as JPMorgan, advertising arrangements, celebrity magazine features and plans for a major mobile application. According to the lawsuit, those opportunities either did not exist or failed to materialise. The investors also allege that the promised app was never developed. The complaint claims the investors only became aware of the company’s internal problems after a September report examined disputes within Wondermind and allegations of mismanagement. The investors subsequently contacted Teefey in November and requested that their money be returned. They say Teefey initially indicated that she would respond within 10 days but did not provide a substantive response. The complaint states that Teefey later replied to another notice in April, saying she believed the investment had already been returned. She reportedly referred further questions to Gomez’s legal team. The investors allege that Teefey later said Wondermind had established an escrow account to facilitate repayment. However, they claim repeated requests for information about the account went unanswered. The plaintiffs allege that no such escrow account existed and describe the events as part of an alleged years-long scheme to mislead investors. The lawsuit seeks repayment of the investors’ original funds, along with additional damages and legal costs.
