Krabi recorded Thailand’s highest growth in staycation accommodation bookings on Traveloka, with bookings more than doubling compared to the same period last year. This increase demonstrates strong traveler confidence in Krabi as a leading destination for short-term getaways.

​The booking data confirms Krabi’s ongoing popularity, supported by its renowned beaches, islands, natural attractions, quality accommodations, and distinctive dining options. These features appeal to travelers seeking experiences that combine relaxation, exploration, and wellness.

​Krabi Governor Angkoon Silathewakul credited this growth to the joint efforts of government agencies, the private sector, tourism operators, and local communities. He noted that these groups have consistently worked to raise service standards, enhance public facilities, and promote tourism activities.

​The governor emphasized the administration’s commitment to visitor safety, maintaining tourist site quality, and ensuring convenient travel. He highlighted that Krabi offers both natural beauty and a safe, welcoming environment for all visitors. These symptoms usually appear on the same side where the wallet is carried. Experts warn that similar symptoms can also be caused by a slipped disc spinal narrowing or other nerve conditions. For this reason people should not rely on online information to diagnose themselves. If the pain continues a medical check up is important to find the real cause. People who sit for long hours such as office workers drivers and frequent travelers may face a higher risk. Carrying a wallet packed with cards receipts and cash makes the problem even more likely. The good news is that many people improve simply by changing this habit. Keeping your wallet in a front pocket jacket or bag removing unnecessary items and using digital payments can help reduce pressure on the nerve. Doctors also recommend standing up and walking for a few minutes every 30 to 45 minutes sitting with good posture and doing gentle stretching exercises with professional guidance. If pain numbness or difficulty walking continues or becomes severe seek medical care immediately. Experts say ongoing back or leg pain should never be ignored as it may sometimes be a sign of a more serious nerve or spine problem.

    Jamaat-e-Islami announces nationwide sit-ins on Au…

    Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has announced that his party will hold simultaneous sit-ins across all four provinces on August 16, as part of its campaign against what he described as injustice and oppressive policies. Speaking about the planned demonstrations, Naeemur Rehman said a sit-in would be held outside the Punjab Chief Minister’s House in Lahore. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan, party workers will stage protests outside the respective Governor Houses. The Jamaat-e-Islami chief said the demonstrations would be held at the same time across the country. He called on the rulers to stop what he termed oppression and injustice, saying the government must pay attention to the concerns of the people. Naeemur Rehman said his party would continue raising its voice on issues affecting citizens. He maintained that the government should take practical steps to address public grievances instead of ignoring them. The announcement comes as Jamaat-e-Islami continues its political activities and prepares to mobilise workers in different parts of the country. The party is expected to organise demonstrations in provincial capitals and other major areas as part of its campaign. The JI chief also welcomed the recent defence agreement signed by Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia. He described the agreement as a positive development and said stronger cooperation among the three countries could contribute to regional security and closer ties.

    A police constable was martyred while two suspected robbers were killed during an exchange of fire in Karachi’s Orangi Town early Tuesday morning, according to police officials. The incident occurred near Liaquat Chowk within the jurisdiction of Pakistan Bazaar Police Station during a routine police patrol. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Tariq Illahi Mastoi said four police officers were conducting motorcycle patrols when they encountered armed suspects. According to the police, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire upon spotting the patrol team, prompting officers to return fire in self-defense. During the shootout, both suspected robbers were killed at the scene. Police recovered two pistols, ammunition, spent shell casings, and the motorcycle allegedly used by the suspects. However, 26-year-old Constable Hassan Ali sustained serious gunshot injuries during the exchange. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors made every effort to save his life. Despite medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries and was later declared martyred. District West police spokesperson Nabeel Ahmed Rajput stated that the constable was wearing body armor at the time of the encounter. However, the bullets struck him from the side, causing fatal injuries. Constable Hassan Ali was unmarried and hailed from Sukkur. Following funeral prayers at the Garden Police Headquarters in Karachi, his body was transported to his hometown for burial. The funeral was attended by Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho, Additional IGP Azad Khan, and several senior police officials, who paid tribute to the fallen officer’s sacrifice. Police investigations later revealed that one of the deceased suspects had a significant criminal history. Officials said he had previously been arrested in connection with the 2021 killing of an assistant sub-inspector and was involved in at least 13 criminal cases. Another criminal case had also been registered against the second suspect. The incident highlights the continuing security challenges faced by law enforcement personnel in Karachi. Police officers frequently encounter armed criminals during patrols, placing their lives at risk while carrying out their duties. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continuing operations against street crime and organized criminal networks across the city to improve public safety and maintain law and order.

    Army troops deployed in Rawalpindi for six months

    The federal government has approved the deployment of three companies of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi. The troops will perform sensitive security duties in the city. The deployment will remain in place for six months. The decision was taken after a request from the Punjab Home Department. The Interior Ministry issued the deployment order on August 21. The order said the army personnel would help prevent any undesirable situation. They will also assist the civil administration in dealing with any unexpected security challenge. The deployment has been authorised under Article 245 of the Constitution. The provision allows the armed forces to assist the civil administration when required. The troops will perform their duties according to the requirements of the district administration. Their presence is intended to strengthen security arrangements and improve the authorities’ ability to respond to emergencies. The government has given the deployment immediate effect. The three army companies can therefore begin their assigned security responsibilities without delay. The order did not provide details about the exact locations where the troops will be stationed. It also did not specify particular operations or threats that prompted the deployment. The decision places additional security resources at the disposal of the Rawalpindi administration.
