Kui Buri National Park safari vehicle fee rises to 1,200 baht
Kui Buri National Park has increased the wildlife viewing vehicle fee from 850 baht to 1,200 baht per vehicle, effective from Friday, 1 May 2026.
The adjustment applies to the safari-style vehicles used to take visitors into the Huai Luek Wildlife Watching Area, one of the best-known locations in Thailand for seeing wild elephants and gaurs in their natural habitat.
The park said it had been informed of the fee change by the Kui Buri Wildlife Ecotourism Club, the authorised provider of wildlife viewing vehicle services within the park.
According to the club, the increase is needed because of rising operating costs, including fuel, vehicle maintenance, labour and other related expenses. The club said the new fee would help maintain service quality, safety standards and care for visitors.
The vehicle service fee is separate from the national park entrance fee. Foreign adults are charged 200 baht to enter the park, while foreign children are charged 100 baht. Thai citizens pay 40 baht.
Private vehicles are not allowed into the wildlife watching area. Visitors must park at the visitor centre and use one of the authorised open-air vehicles operated through the local ecotourism system. The vehicle service is typically charged per group, rather than per person.
Kui Buri National Park said income from the service also supports local communities by creating work and income opportunities for residents, while helping promote ecotourism linked to conservation.
One of Thailand’s best places to see wild elephants
The park, located about 85 kilometres south of Hua Hin, remains a popular day trip for residents and visitors staying in Hua Hin and other parts of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The journey from Hua Hin usually takes around one to one-and-a-half hours by road.
Kui Buri is widely associated with wild elephant sightings, with visitors also having the chance to see gaurs, deer, hornbills and other wildlife. The viewing area operates in the afternoon, when animals are more likely to come out from deeper forest areas.
The wildlife viewing area is generally open from 2pm to 6pm, with many visitors choosing to arrive at the visitor centre during the mid-afternoon before joining a guided vehicle trip.
The fee change means visitors planning a trip from Hua Hin or elsewhere in the province should factor the higher vehicle charge into their budget, particularly families or groups already paying national park entry fees.
