Nicole Kidman reveals her secret ‘stealth mode’ for nights out

Nicole Kidman has a clever trick for going out in public without being recognised. She calls it her stealth mode.

Speaking with British Vogue, the “Babygirl” star opened up about how she enjoys ordinary outings and summer trips across Europe while keeping her identity under wraps. Her secret weapon is a slightly darker wig paired with a simple pair of glasses.

Kidman described herself as genuinely skilled at slipping in and out of places unnoticed. She named cities like London, Ibiza, Paris and Portofino as regular stops during her European summers.

She explained that her evenings can range from a quiet dinner party to a full night out dancing. According to her, it really comes down to two simple options, playing Scrabble at home or heading out for the night.

Kidman described her typical evening rhythm in detail, starting with dinner around 10:30 pm and moving to a club by 1 am. She said she’ll usually put on glasses to help blend into the crowd.

She admitted that sometimes she goes a step further, adding a dark wig to fully disguise her look. Once disguised, she said, she is free to simply enjoy dancing without being noticed.

Kidman noted that staying surrounded by trusted people is essential to feeling comfortable during these outings. She said she always brings people along with her, describing that sense of company as something she genuinely needs.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kidman reflected on how differently she viewed life before her recent divorce from Keith Urban. She said she has since adopted more of a feelings-first approach to both her personal life and career.

She explained that she does not want to be ruled entirely by logic anymore. According to Kidman, she once had a very different vision for how her life would unfold, but reality simply turned out differently.

She said people often build detailed plans and expectations, only to find life does not follow that script. Kidman added that adjusting and adapting has become necessary, describing her future right now as something entirely unknown to her.

How K-pop stars turned concert stages into runways for luxury fashion

Fashion and music have always crossed paths, but K-pop has taken that relationship to a whole new level. Red carpets and front-row seats used to be where haute couture made its mark, but now concert stages are doing the same job. Every costume change is planned down to the last detail, every embellishment is built to catch the light, and every custom outfit says something about who the artist is. BTS’s ongoing ‘ARIRANG’ tour and ‘BLACKPINK’s’ solo shows have both proven that concert fashion is officially having its moment. What is more, luxury houses are not just dressing these artists anymore, they are designing with them, turning performance costumes into genuine collector’s pieces. For brands, a sold-out world tour means access to a massive, engaged audience eager to study every seam and fabric choice, a crowd that’s often broader than the one watching from the front row at a runway show. K-pop concert looks now blend ready-to-wear, couture and performance-first design, and they have to survive far more than just a photo op. Outfits need to hold up through intense choreography while still fitting the artist’s public image and giving fans something to freeze-frame in fan edits. Stylists are increasingly pulling from designer archives or commissioning fully custom pieces to keep things exclusive. BTS’s Paris tour stop was a masterclass in this. V leaned into Celine’s Parisian tailoring, J-Hope brought youthful energy to Louis Vuitton’s classic menswear, and Jimin wore four custom Dior looks spanning fringed knitwear to Napoleon-inspired jackets. Jin and RM turned to Gucci for leather-and-crystal ensembles, Suga went with a beaded Givenchy suit, and Jungkook wore custom Balenciaga pieces pulled from the label’s latest collections. BLACKPINK’s members have been just as bold. Lisa’s Swarovski-crystal catsuit from her Chicago show later ended up on display at Swarovski’s own crystal museum in Austria. Jennie leaned into archival fashion, wearing vintage Chanel pieces from the Karl Lagerfeld years, while Jisoo and Rosé spotlighted Asian designers, choosing Malaysia’s Ivan Yong and Seoul-based Gyouree Kim respectively. TWICE worked with New York designer Kim Shui for futuristic, metallic-heavy looks, while G-Dragon continues to blur the line between fashion and performance entirely, recently mixing bespoke Chanel tweed with an Amiri sequin suit. Together, these artists are proving that concert wardrobes can be just as fashion-forward as anything seen on a runway.

Japan earthquake survivors struggle with water shortages and extreme heat

Communities across southern Japan are facing growing hardship after a powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake left at least 17 people dead, damaged essential infrastructure, and cut off water and electricity for thousands of residents. As emergency teams continue rescue and relief operations, authorities are racing to address the worsening impact of intense summer temperatures on affected communities. The earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture on Tuesday, causing widespread destruction in Yatsushiro, a port city where cracked roads, collapsed buildings, and broken water pipelines have made daily life increasingly difficult. While damaged homes and public buildings are visible reminders of the disaster, local officials say the lack of clean water and electricity has become one of the biggest challenges facing residents. Akio Matsushita, a city official involved in coordinating relief efforts, said restoring the damaged water system could take a long time because of the scale of the destruction. He explained that repair crews are still assessing the underground damage and cannot estimate when normal services will resume. With temperatures reaching around 35 degrees Celsius and humidity remaining high, the shortage of water has become especially dangerous. Even city hall has been affected, forcing officials to install temporary toilets above sewer manholes after indoor facilities stopped working. Authorities have confirmed that at least 17 people lost their lives in the earthquake. Most of the deaths occurred at a paper manufacturing plant operated by Nippon Paper Industries, where severe structural damage trapped workers. Others were reported at an Aeon shopping mall after what officials believe may have been a gas explosion. Six more people remain in cardiopulmonary arrest, while authorities continue investigating additional deaths that may also be linked to the earthquake. Including those cases, the overall death toll could rise to 28. Emergency responders are also preparing for another serious threat as weather forecasts predict temperatures could approach 40 degrees Celsius over the coming days. Officials have warned that people staying in evacuation centres face an increased risk of heat related illnesses. To reduce that danger, Japan’s Self Defense Forces have begun installing around 300 air conditioning units at evacuation shelters and other important relief locations throughout Kumamoto Prefecture. In the hours after the earthquake, military vehicles transported large water tanks to schools and community centres across Yatsushiro. Emergency water stored beneath city hall has been used to refill the tanks, allowing residents to collect drinking water. However, supplies remain limited, with each person allowed only three litres. Among those waiting for water was Masahiro Miyamoto, who spent hours clearing debris after a temple gate collapsed during the quake. Although his own home remained standing, the neighbouring house was destroyed. Without running water, he has depended entirely on military water deliveries. He said the few stores that reopened after the disaster were crowded with shoppers trying to buy food and other essentials, while long lines formed outside petrol stations as people rushed to fill their vehicles. Japan’s location along the Pacific Ring of Fire makes earthquakes a frequent occurrence. The country has invested heavily in earthquake resistant construction and emergency preparedness, helping reduce casualties during many disasters. Even so, powerful earthquakes continue to cause severe disruption, especially in regions with major industrial facilities. The latest earthquake has also affected manufacturing across Kyushu, an important centre for Japan’s automobile and semiconductor industries. Several leading companies, including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Aisin, and Sony, temporarily suspended parts of their production while inspections were carried out. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company also evacuated workers and briefly stopped operations to ensure facilities remained safe. Many residents of Kumamoto still remember the devastating earthquakes that struck the region in 2016, killing more than 260 people and destroying thousands of homes. Even those who survived that disaster said this week’s shaking felt stronger in parts of Yatsushiro. Miyamoto recalled shelves crashing to the floor and computers being thrown across rooms. He said the violent movement was unlike anything he had experienced before, describing the sensation as if he had been lifted off the ground and tossed through the air.

Alex Cooper’s drink company reportedly shutting …

Alex Cooper’s venture into the beverage industry may be coming to an end. The Call Her Daddy host’s Unwell Beverage business is reportedly shutting down after less than two years on the market. According to a Bloomberg report cited by People, the company is expected to end its beverage operations after releasing a final collection of Halloween-themed drinks this fall. Neither Cooper nor Target, the brand’s main retail partner, has publicly confirmed the report. (People.com) The reported closure marks an unexpected turn for a business that Cooper created after noticing what she believed was a gap in the hydration market. The idea for Unwell Hydration came to her while she was on her 2024 Unwell Tour. Cooper said she often struggled to find hydration and energy drinks that felt designed for women rather than men. She wanted to create something convenient for people with busy lifestyles while also offering lower-sugar options. Cooper previously explained that she would often feel exhausted while traveling and performing. She said many of the drinks she found either tasted unpleasant or contained more sugar than she wanted. That experience helped inspire the concept behind Unwell Hydration. (People.com) The beverage line was developed in partnership with Nestlé and officially launched in 2025. It initially focused on electrolyte drinks before expanding into additional products, including Unwell Focus, Unwell Protein and Unwell Energy. The products were primarily sold through Target stores and online. (People.com) Cooper’s goal was to bring her huge female audience into a category that had traditionally been associated with sports and performance. The company’s branding was closely connected to the wider Unwell media network, which Cooper has continued to expand through podcasts, entertainment projects, merchandise and other ventures. However, the beverage business reportedly struggled to establish a long-term position in an increasingly crowded functional-drinks market. The Cut noted that the brand moved from its original hydration focus into protein and energy products, potentially making its overall identity less clear to consumers. (The Cut) The reported shutdown does not mean Cooper’s larger Unwell business is disappearing. Her media company continues to operate across several areas, and recent reports indicate that Unwell itself has secured new investment that values the broader company at around $500 million. (TMZ) For now, fans may still see Unwell beverages on shelves as retailers sell through their remaining inventory. The final Halloween-themed release could become the brand’s last major product launch. While the drink company may have had a short run, Cooper’s attempt shows how quickly major digital creators are moving beyond social media and podcasts into consumer products—and how difficult it can be to turn a huge online following into a lasting beverage brand. UN recognition strengthens Pakistan’s football diplomacy and global social impact

The international recognition earned by Pakistan’s “Football for Mental Health Programme” at the United Nations has been hailed as a major milestone for Pakistan’s sporting diplomacy, reinforcing the country’s positive image while strengthening its standing within the global football community. Officials associated with the initiative believe the acknowledgement has gone beyond celebrating a successful social programme, instead highlighting Pakistan’s growing ability to contribute meaningfully to international discussions on youth development, mental well-being and community empowerment through sport. The recognition has also reinforced the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) belief in the unity of the global football family, demonstrating that football continues to transcend geographical, cultural and political boundaries by bringing together nations in pursuit of common humanitarian goals. PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani described the achievement as a significant endorsement of Pakistan’s potential to transform football into an instrument of social progress. “It proved that Pakistani people have the will and ability to serve society, while the Pakistan Football Federation possesses the professional capacity to implement globally conceived ideas focusing on building a better society by using football as a vehicle,” he said. Gilani added that the international appreciation had projected Pakistan’s soft image before the world by showcasing the country’s commitment to innovation, social responsibility and community development through sport. According to the PFF president, one of the most significant outcomes of the initiative was its emphasis on mental health, an issue receiving increasing attention across the global sporting landscape. “Football has the power to improve the emotional and psychological well-being of players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and families, while creating healthier and more connected communities.” PFF Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar said that the United Nations platform enabled Pakistan to engage with a diverse range of international stakeholders, including football administrators, policymakers, development organisations, athletes and youth leaders. “These interactions created valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, explore future collaborations and strengthen partnerships aimed at using sport to address global social challenges,” he remarked. “Football has increasingly become an effective platform for promoting inclusion, education, health awareness and youth empowerment, with governing bodies around the world encouraging federations to expand their role beyond competition and contribute to broader community development,” Khokhar added. The other delegation members said that Pakistan’s participation in the global dialogue reflects the PFF’s commitment to embracing this modern vision of football, where the game’s influence extends beyond the pitch to create lasting social impact. “The recognition is also expected to encourage greater international cooperation and support for similar initiatives in the future, while reinforcing Pakistan’s reputation as a responsible and constructive member of the global football community,” they added.

Becky G opens up about embracing complicated ideas…

Becky G is entering a new chapter in her music career, and she is no longer interested in fitting herself into just one box. The Mexican-American singer, whose birth name is Rebbeca Marie Gomez, recently opened up about the personal ideas behind her fifth studio album, Baraja Bendita. Released on August 14, 2026, the 17-track project explores identity, culture, womanhood and the complicated experiences that have shaped her. (KUNC) For Becky, the album is about embracing every part of herself rather than choosing one identity over another. She has often described herself as being “200%” — both American and Mexican. That duality has influenced her career, from her language and music to the expectations placed on her as a Latina artist. With Baraja Bendita, she decided to make that complexity part of the story. In a recent interview, Becky explained that the album represents a meeting point between Becky G, the public performer, and Rebbeca, the person behind the stage name. She described the project as a personal collaboration between those two sides of herself. (KUNC) That honesty also appears in the subjects she tackles through her songs. One example is “EPA,” a track that addresses the difficult political climate surrounding Latino communities. Rather than avoiding uncomfortable subjects, Becky uses music to create a sense of joy and safety for people who may be dealing with uncertainty. She has emphasized that Latino communities deserve spaces where they can experience happiness, even when the world around them feels heavy. (HipLatina) Other songs explore more intimate sides of her identity. Tracks such as “CHULA” embrace confidence, sensuality and womanhood, while other songs move through vulnerability, relationships and emotional complexity. The album allows those different moods to exist together instead of forcing Becky into a single image. (FemMusic) That approach is especially meaningful for an artist who began working in entertainment as a teenager. After years of being publicly defined by her language, genre and cultural background, Becky now appears determined to define herself on her own terms. The album also moves freely between musical styles, including Latin, pop, electronic and urban influences. Becky has said she does not want to be restricted to one genre or language, embracing Spanglish as another natural part of who she is. (LOS40) Ultimately, Baraja Bendita is less about becoming a new Becky G and more about accepting the woman she has always been. Through complicated ideas, personal stories and cultural themes, she is showing listeners that identity does not have to be simple. Sometimes, the most honest version of yourself is made up of many different sides.
