Prime Video renews ‘Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya’ for two more seasons

Prime Video is bringing back “Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya” for two more seasons, confirming both Season 2 and Season 3 following the show’s successful debut run. The renewal marks a strong vote of confidence in the series.

The streamer also confirmed that development on the upcoming seasons has already begun. Work is reportedly underway even before the current buzz around the first season has fully settled.

The comedy drama premiered worldwide on July 24 and quickly became a global favourite. It trended at No. 1 among non-English titles on Prime Video’s worldwide Top 10 list.

The show also achieved impressive domestic reach, connecting with audiences across 94% of India’s PIN codes. That level of penetration highlights just how widely the series resonated with viewers nationwide.

At the centre of the story is Gyaneshwar Tripathi, a laid-back headmaster trying to bring order to one of Tinki Toli’s most chaotic schools. His attempts to manage the dysfunction form the emotional and comedic core of the series.

The show is directed by Himank Gaur, with Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena serving as creators and executive producers under their Posham Pa Pictures banner. Their creative partnership has previously delivered several well-received comedy projects.

Leading the cast is veteran actor Kay Kay Menon, joined by Archana Puran Singh and Abhimanyu Singh. The ensemble also includes Naveen Kasturia, Prasanna Bisht, Deven Bhojani, Ajitesh Gupta, Annapurna Soni and Prachee Shah.

    India alarmed by Pakistan-Saudi-Türkiye alliance

    The defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye has emerged as a major strategic concern for India. The three countries signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement on August 7. Under the pact, an armed attack against any one of the three countries would be treated as an attack against all three. The agreement has attracted significant attention in New Delhi. Indian analysts are assessing its possible impact on the regional balance of power. An Indian media analysis recalled comments made by Indian Army Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh in 2025. He had said that during the military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May, India faced several forms of support for Pakistan. The analysis claimed that Pakistan was directly involved in the conflict. It also alleged that China provided satellite information to Pakistan. Türkiye was accused of providing military assistance to Pakistan. The assistance reportedly included drones and other defence equipment. Saudi Arabia’s participation has now added another dimension to India’s concerns. Indian analysts fear that Riyadh could support Pakistan if another armed conflict breaks out between India and Pakistan. The concern comes despite India’s strong relations with Saudi Arabia. The two countries have extensive economic and strategic ties. India and Saudi Arabia cooperate in oil, trade, investment, security and cultural affairs. Their bilateral trade is estimated at around $43 billion. Saudi Arabia also remains an important supplier of crude oil to India. It reportedly meets around 14% of India’s crude oil requirements. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also have a long history of defence cooperation. Pakistan has provided military training to Saudi forces. Pakistani military personnel have also been deployed in Saudi Arabia at different times. The Indian analysis claimed that Pakistan sent around 8,000 military personnel and 16 JF-17 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia during 2026. It also referred to reports about possible Pakistani drone support and Chinese-made air defence systems. These developments were reportedly linked to Saudi Arabia’s security concerns and attacks involving drones. The relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye has also expanded significantly in recent years. The two countries have increased cooperation in defence technology and military production. Pakistan has acquired Turkish-made warships and other defence equipment. Türkiye has also supported the modernisation of Pakistan’s naval capabilities. The two countries are also cooperating in the field of unmanned aerial systems. Pakistan has acquired Turkish Bayraktar Akıncı drones. Both sides have discussed and worked on expanding cooperation in drone technology. Türkiye’s KAAN stealth fighter has also attracted interest from Pakistan. However, no final purchase agreement for the aircraft has been confirmed.

    Punjab fixes wheat release price at Rs3,800 per ma…

    The Punjab government has fixed the new wheat release price at Rs3,800 per maund following approval from the provincial cabinet. According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department, a formal notification has been issued to implement the decision. The spokesperson said the federal government has directed Punjab to immediately procure wheat from the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO). The province has been approved to receive 300,000 metric tons of wheat under the arrangement. The department has already received 200,000 metric tons of wheat, while PASSCO has set its wheat price at Rs4,150 per maund. Officials said the move aims to ensure an uninterrupted supply of wheat and flour across the province while maintaining price stability in the market. The Punjab government also reiterated its commitment to ensuring that bread (roti) remains available to the public at Rs15 per piece. According to the spokesperson, Punjab had requested 800,000 metric tons of wheat, but only 533,440 metric tons have been allocated. Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Food Security has instructed the Punjab government to promptly submit its wheat procurement schedule along with the required advance payment to complete the purchase process.

He maintained that he had made several attempts to obtain permission but had not received a positive response from the relevant authorities. The PTI chairman said he would once again submit a request for permission to meet the party founder. He also stressed the importance of allowing the founder’s family members and legal team to meet him. His remarks come amid continued political and legal developments surrounding the PTI founder, whose access to family members, lawyers and party leadership has remained a subject of political discussion.     PAC flags Rs19bn BISP payment irregularities

    A subcommittee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has raised concerns over financial irregularities in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) after audit officials revealed that more than Rs19 billion was paid outside the beneficiaries’ respective provinces or districts. The meeting was chaired by subcommittee convener Moeen Aamir Pirzada. Members reviewed a series of audit objections related to BISP covering the financial years from 2010-11 to 2022-23. During the briefing, audit officials informed the committee that payments worth over Rs19 billion had been made in locations different from the beneficiaries’ registered districts or provinces. The audit team said the transactions required further scrutiny to determine whether they resulted from administrative weaknesses, verification gaps or possible misuse of the programme. Committee members expressed concern over the findings and stressed the need for stronger monitoring and accountability in the country’s largest social welfare programme. They said public funds intended for deserving families must be distributed through a transparent and well-monitored system. The subcommittee examined the audit observations in detail and sought explanations from the relevant BISP officials regarding the irregular payments. Officials were asked to clarify how such payments were processed and whether adequate checks were in place to prevent similar cases. The committee also discussed measures to improve the verification process, strengthen oversight and ensure that future payments are made only to eligible beneficiaries through proper channels.
