Pakistan, Türkiye unite for Palestine

Pakistan and Türkiye have reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian people while expressing deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, continued military operations in the occupied Palestinian territories, and repeated violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

The commitment came during a telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The two leaders reviewed the latest regional and international developments, with the situation in Palestine dominating their discussions.

Both foreign ministers voiced serious concern over the continued violence in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, warning that the deteriorating humanitarian conditions require immediate international attention. They also condemned repeated violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem and stressed the need to protect religious and historical sites.

The ministers reiterated their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries aimed at coordinating diplomatic efforts to address the crisis and strengthen international support for Palestine.

The discussion follows Pakistan’s recent diplomatic engagements with several regional partners, including Egypt, where officials also called for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian assistance, and greater diplomatic coordination to end the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, fresh violence was reported in Gaza despite an existing ceasefire, with Palestinian medical officials reporting casualties and injuries following new attacks. Military operations and raids also continued across the occupied West Bank, adding to concerns over the worsening security and humanitarian situation.

HANGU: Pakistani authorities have registered a terrorism case following a deadly drone attack on the Khazina Banda police checkpost in Hangu, where officials say militants carried out a coordinated assault that left several police personnel dead and dozens injured. According to police, the case has been lodged at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Kohat on the complaint of the station house officer (SHO). The First Information Report (FIR) names members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and includes 16 charges, including terrorism, murder, attempted murder and kidnapping. According to the police report, DSP Diyar Khan was among 10 police officials martyred during the attack, while 33 other personnel sustained injuries in the fierce confrontation. Authorities said security forces responded immediately, leading to a prolonged gun battle with the militants. The FIR claims that 15 militants were killed during the retaliatory operation carried out by police. The attack also caused significant damage to government property. Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet slow down romance

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are reportedly happy with the current stage of their relationship and are not planning to rush into an engagement, despite being together for several years. According to a recent report, the couple remains deeply committed to each other but prefers to allow their relationship to develop naturally rather than making immediate plans for marriage. A source reportedly described Jenner and Chalamet as being very much in love and said they are comfortable with how their relationship is progressing. The couple has apparently chosen not to put pressure on themselves to take the next major step. The pair have also continued spending time together away from the spotlight. They recently enjoyed a getaway with Jenner’s sister Kendall Jenner and her boyfriend, actor Jacob Elordi. The two couples reportedly spent time together in Malibu during the trip. Jenner and Chalamet have become increasingly comfortable appearing together publicly throughout 2026. They have been spotted at several high-profile events, including the Critics Choice Awards, the Oscars, the NBA Finals and the World Cup Final. Earlier reports also suggested that the couple is in a strong place emotionally. Sources close to them have described their relationship as supportive, with both reportedly enjoying each other’s company and feeling comfortable together. Friends and family are said to be positive about the relationship, with those close to the couple believing they could remain together for the long term. However, neither Jenner nor Chalamet appears to be treating engagement as an immediate priority. How their relationship began Jenner and Chalamet were first linked romantically in 2023 after reportedly interacting at an event during Paris Fashion Week earlier that year. Their relationship attracted widespread attention after they were publicly seen together at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour concert in Los Angeles in September 2023. At the time, reports described their romance as relaxed and uncomplicated, with Chalamet praised for being affectionate and supportive toward Jenner. The couple later reached another major milestone when they made their red-carpet debut together at the David Di Donatello Awards in Rome in May 2025. Since then, Jenner and Chalamet have continued to maintain a relatively private relationship while occasionally appearing together at major events.

Liberal democrats urge PM to intervene over EU entry-exit system disruptions

The Liberal Democrats have called on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to directly contact European leaders and lobby for an immediate suspension of the EU’s Entry-Exit System (EES) until at least September. Speaking at Heathrow Airport, foreign affairs spokesperson Calum Miller criticised the biometric scheme as a “bungled, malfunctioning border system” that risks ruining summer holidays for millions of British citizens during peak travel periods. The call comes as approximately 2.2 million British holidaymakers prepare to travel abroad over the weekend following the start of school summer breaks across the UK. Spain, Greece, Portugal, Italy, and Turkey remain the primary destinations. While the EES requires non-EU citizens to undergo biometric registration, including photographs and fingerprinting, border police have retained discretion to relax checks during severe delays. Several European nations have already introduced temporary flexibilities or experienced tech issues, with automated border booths in France failing to function and Greece opting to exempt British nationals from additional biometric checks. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander has held discussions with EU commissioners and French counterparts regarding cross-Channel concerns, particularly at French border posts situated in the UK, such as the Port of Dover. To mitigate severe queueing, French border police have temporarily suspended fingerprinting and photography for car passengers at ferry ports and the Eurotunnel terminal. Consequently, queue times at Dover have remained manageable, staying under 40 minutes despite heavy traffic volumes. Meanwhile, airlines such as easyJet are pressing the EU to extend border flexibility through the end of October to prevent further travel disruption.
