“Happy Heavenly 92nd Birthday grandma! It’s only been a week, but wow, the amount of things I’ve learned about you this week from going through all of your stuff with mom has been beautiful,” Kim wrote. She added that discovering more about MJ’s life had only deepened her admiration and love for her grandmother. “I miss you like crazy and I love you endlessly, my sweet grandma MJ.” 

MJ, the mother of Kris Jenner, passed away at the age of 91 and was widely regarded as the heart of the Kardashian-Jenner family. She often appeared on the family’s reality shows, where her warm personality, humor, and close relationship with her grandchildren made her a fan favorite. Her influence extended far beyond television, as she inspired generations of her family through her work ethic, kindness, and unwavering support.

    ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to significantly strengthen economic cooperation by increasing bilateral trade to $10 billion and accelerating efforts to finalize a long-awaited Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The understanding was reached during the 10th meeting of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Trade Committee, held in Islamabad on Tuesday. The session was jointly chaired by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Iranian Minister for Industry, Mine and Trade Dr. Mohammad Atabak, with senior officials from both countries participating in discussions aimed at expanding trade and investment ties. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral trade and explored practical measures to unlock its full potential. The two countries agreed that stronger economic integration, improved connectivity, and enhanced cross-border cooperation are essential for achieving the ambitious trade target of $10 billion. Speaking on the occasion, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal said Pakistan and Iran enjoy longstanding historical, cultural, and religious ties, but stressed that these relations should now be translated into a robust economic partnership. He emphasized that expanding trade and investment would bring mutual economic benefits and contribute to regional prosperity. The minister underscored the importance of completing the Pakistan-Iran Free Trade Agreement at the earliest opportunity, describing it as a key step toward facilitating commerce between the neighboring countries. He also called for the removal of bottlenecks affecting border logistics, customs procedures, and cargo movement to ensure smoother and faster trade flows. Jam Kamal noted that bilateral trade could be further enhanced through the development of joint border markets, greater use of electronic data interchange systems, and closer coordination between relevant government agencies. He said modernizing trade infrastructure and simplifying customs procedures would help businesses on both sides benefit from increased commercial activity. The Joint Trade Committee also agreed to formulate a practical roadmap aimed at strengthening economic cooperation across multiple sectors. The roadmap will focus on trade facilitation, infrastructure development, logistics, and investment opportunities while encouraging closer collaboration between the public and private sectors. Iranian Minister Dr. Mohammad Atabak described Pakistan as one of Iran’s key long-term strategic trade partners and expressed confidence that bilateral economic relations could expand considerably in the coming years. He highlighted the importance of increasing regional trade and logistics cooperation, particularly by utilizing Pakistan’s Karachi and Gwadar ports to improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of goods. Dr. Atabak also voiced optimism about the early conclusion of the Pakistan-Iran Free Trade Agreement, saying it would create new opportunities for businesses in both countries. He added that cooperation in electricity trade, transport networks, and regional connectivity projects could open new avenues for economic growth and strengthen commercial links across the region.

    PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has warned Pakistan’s rulers and decision-makers to “open their eyes” before September 27, saying the situation could become increasingly difficult to control if justice, constitutional supremacy and the rule of law are not restored. Speaking to reporters while attending a protest outside the Supreme Court, Afridi also expressed concern over reports about the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan. The chief minister said serious concerns were emerging about Khan’s health and called for the matter to be treated with urgency. He said neither he nor Khan had attempted to use the former prime minister’s health for political relief. Afridi demanded that Khan’s family be allowed to be present and that his treatment be conducted under the supervision of his personal doctors. The KP chief minister referred to the treatment of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during Imran Khan’s government. He said Khan had allowed Sharif to travel abroad for medical treatment on humanitarian grounds, despite questions that had been raised at the time regarding medical certificates. According to Afridi, Khan was now being deprived of basic human rights and justice, which he described as a matter of serious concern. Afridi also criticized what he described as politically motivated cases against Khan. He alleged that his political opponents had themselves faced corruption allegations and accused them of misusing national resources. These claims represent Afridi’s political position and were not independently established in his remarks. The KP chief minister also spoke about the judiciary, saying Pakistan’s justice system was facing a major test. He urged judges to stand up for justice and said that one judge taking a principled position could encourage others to do the same. Reports also say that Epstein made some of his final telephone calls to her while he was in custody. At the time of his death, Epstein’s estate was estimated to be worth around $600 million. A significant portion of that wealth has since been used to compensate people who accused Epstein of sexual abuse. More than $170 million was reportedly paid to over 200 victims through compensation arrangements. The estate has also faced several legal claims and settlements with government authorities. These matters have complicated the distribution of Epstein’s remaining assets. After a recent tax refund, the value of the estate’s remaining assets is estimated at between $120 million and $150 million. Despite being named as a potential beneficiary, Shuliak has not yet secured the inheritance. Payments connected to the trust remain suspended while legal proceedings continue. Richard Kahn, the executor of Epstein’s estate, has reportedly raised concerns about the wording of the trust agreement. He described the document as unclear and poorly prepared. The uncertainty has made it difficult to determine exactly how Epstein intended his remaining fortune to be divided. He also claimed that six of the association’s eight demands concerning Punjab had been accepted. Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi and Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan welcomed the development and stressed continued dialogue. The 40-day postponement gives both sides an opportunity to resolve the remaining disputes and avoid further disruption to Pakistan’s goods transportation network.

    PPP, PML-N hold unity talks over AJK polls

    Senior leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held a high-level meeting in Muzaffarabad on Thursday to defuse growing political tensions over the ongoing Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections. The meeting came after days of heated exchanges between the two coalition partners following the Mirpur election. The PPP had accused the electoral process of being marred by widespread irregularities and raised concerns over the credibility of the results. According to sources, the talks were aimed at preventing the election dispute from affecting the working relationship between the two parties in the federal coalition government. The meeting was reportedly arranged after consultations at the federal level. Some sources claimed that the initiative received support from both the Presidency and the Prime Minister’s Office. However, this could not be independently verified. The PPP delegation included Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan, AJK Prime Minister Faisal Rathore and Nayyar Bukhari. They met with senior PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah and Amir Muqam. During the meeting, both sides openly discussed their concerns over statements made during the election campaign and after the announcement of the Mirpur results. PML-N leaders asked the PPP to present evidence supporting its allegations of organised election rigging. In response, PPP leaders said their objections were limited to four constituencies — LA-5, LA-9, LA-11 and LA-12 — where they believe serious irregularities took place. PML-N leaders argued that by restricting its objections to only four constituencies, the PPP had effectively accepted the results of the remaining nine seats. They noted that PML-N won five of those seats, while the PPP secured four. After detailed discussions, both parties agreed that political tensions should not be allowed to escalate further. They also agreed that the dispute should not affect the remaining phases of the AJK elections. The meeting also reviewed security arrangements for polling in the remaining constituencies, particularly in Muzaffarabad. Both parties agreed that no individual should be allowed to carry weapons inside or around polling stations. They stressed that strict security measures were necessary to ensure peaceful, transparent and orderly polling. Political observers view the meeting as the first major reconciliation effort by the two coalition partners to contain the election dispute
