Paris Jackson reveals nightmare experience at trea…

Paris Jackson is opening up about one of the darkest periods of her teenage years, revealing previously undisclosed details about her experience at a treatment facility after a suicide attempt at age 15.

The singer and actress recently described her time at a Utah treatment center as a deeply distressing experience. Jackson said the facility, which was supposed to help her recover, instead left her with additional emotional wounds. Her comments offer a rare look at the difficult experiences she faced during her adolescence. (The News)

Jackson has spoken publicly before about struggling with her mental health as a teenager. After the death of her father, Michael Jackson, in 2009, she faced intense grief while growing up under constant public attention. At 15, she attempted suicide and later received treatment.

In her latest account, Jackson described the facility as a place where she felt trapped rather than supported. She recalled eventually escaping from the Utah facility, despite being warned about what could happen if she tried to leave.

The experience appears to have had a lasting effect on her. Jackson has previously discussed being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after attending a treatment program, and she has also expressed solidarity with other people who have described harmful experiences in youth treatment facilities.

Her story highlights a complicated part of mental health treatment that is often overlooked. While professional care can be essential during a crisis, Jackson’s experience shows why young people need environments where they feel safe, respected and genuinely heard.

Over the years, Jackson has continued working to rebuild her life and establish an identity separate from her famous family. She has pursued music, modeling and acting, while becoming increasingly open about her experiences with addiction, grief and mental health.

Her recovery has not been presented as a simple journey. Instead, Jackson has described difficult setbacks alongside periods of growth. In 2020, she spoke about how songwriting helped her process painful emotions and turn difficult experiences into something creative. (ABC News)

Jackson’s willingness to discuss her past also gives fans a different perspective on the person behind the headlines. Growing up as Michael Jackson’s daughter brought enormous attention, but her struggles were deeply personal.

Her latest revelations are particularly significant because they show that seeking help does not always mean every treatment experience feels healing. Jackson’s account reinforces the importance of compassionate and appropriate care, especially for vulnerable teenagers.

Today, she continues to focus on her music and personal growth. By speaking honestly about the painful chapters of her past, Jackson is also helping start conversations about mental health, trauma and the importance of finding safe ways to recover.

Kangana Ranaut sparks criticism after calling Gen Z ‘Generation Gutter’

Bollywood actor and BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has come under heavy criticism after making a series of controversial remarks about young people who participated in recent anti government protests in India. Her comments, shared on social media, quickly went viral and triggered strong reactions from politicians, activists, and social media users. The controversy began after a 36 day protest led by the Cockroach Janata Party along with students and civil society groups ended on July 25. The demonstrations concluded after the government accepted several key demands, including the resignation of then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. A few days later, Ranaut posted on Instagram, where she strongly criticised videos from the protests held at Jantar Mantar. She described the footage as disturbing and accused participants of displaying behaviour that she considered offensive and lacking basic values. She questioned the conduct and language of the young protesters and claimed their actions reflected poorly on the country’s cultural traditions. In another post, Ranaut focused on young women who took part in the demonstrations. She argued that true independence comes through personal responsibility, career choices, and accountability rather than simply demanding freedom. Referring to the younger generation as “Generation Gutter,” she claimed many participants were promoting irresponsible lifestyles while depending on their families for financial support. The actor also suggested that independence must be earned through hard work and self reliance. She criticised what she described as a culture of entitlement among some young people and argued that freedom without responsibility leads to negative consequences. Ranaut continued defending her position in another social media post, saying that those who publicly express strong opinions should also be prepared to face criticism. She claimed that if protesters insult public leaders or damage public property, they should expect a response from people who support the government. Referring to Newton’s third law of motion, she argued that every action naturally brings an equal reaction. Her remarks immediately attracted widespread criticism online. Many users accused her of making disrespectful and insulting comments about an entire generation. Others argued that her statements distracted attention from the issues that motivated the protests in the first place. Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury criticised Ranaut’s language, saying it was disappointing for a sitting Member of Parliament to make such remarks about young citizens. She added that public representatives should communicate more responsibly and suggested that Ranaut could eventually face political consequences for her comments. Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi also condemned the actor’s statements. He expressed confidence that India’s younger generation would respond through democratic means and reject the views she had expressed. Several social media users also pointed to Ranaut’s previous controversial remarks, including comments about actor Urmila Matondkar and participants in earlier protests such as the Shaheen Bagh and farmers’ demonstrations. Critics argued that her latest statements followed a pattern of using harsh language against those with opposing views. Others accused the actor of hypocrisy, saying she frequently criticises the tone of her opponents while overlooking aggressive language used by members of her own political camp. One user described her comments as deeply offensive and questioned why someone in a position of influence would use social media to attack young women instead of encouraging meaningful discussion. The debate has once again placed Ranaut at the centre of political and social controversy. While her supporters defended her right to express her opinions, critics argued that public figures should promote respectful dialogue, especially when discussing young people participating in democratic protests. The exchange has continued to fuel intense debate across social media platforms, reflecting the growing political divide over youth activism and freedom of expression in India.

Rain expected across Pakistan amid flood alert

Rainfall is expected at several locations across Punjab, Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, with weather conditions likely to remain unsettled in parts of the country. According to the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) Lahore, low-level flooding is continuing at several key barrages along the Indus River. The affected locations include Kalabagh, Chashma, Taunsa and Guddu, where water levels remain elevated. The latest situation has prompted continued monitoring of river flows, particularly at locations where water levels are already above normal. The expected rainfall in different parts of the country could influence water flows in rivers and streams, depending on the intensity and duration of the showers. The FFD keeps a close watch on river conditions and provides updates to relevant authorities to help them assess possible flooding risks. Local administrations in vulnerable areas are also expected to remain alert as weather conditions develop. Residents living near rivers, canals and other low-lying areas have been advised to remain cautious and follow instructions issued by local authorities. People travelling through areas vulnerable to heavy rainfall or flooding are also encouraged to stay updated on weather and river conditions. The rainfall forecast comes as several parts of the country continue to experience varying weather patterns. While scattered showers may provide relief from hot and humid conditions in some areas, heavier rainfall could increase runoff and raise water levels in vulnerable waterways.

Indian youth protest alleged exam irregularities in Jharkhand

Thousands of students and unemployed young people marched toward the state legislature in India’s eastern Jharkhand state on Monday. The protesters were demanding action over alleged irregularities in civil services recruitment examinations. Police used water cannons to disperse the demonstrators as they moved toward the state assembly in the state capital, Ranchi. The protesters accused authorities of failing to ensure transparency in government recruitment exams. They also raised concerns over alleged question paper leaks. The demonstrations began on July 25 and have grown in size in recent days. Thousands of young people had earlier gathered at a stadium in Ranchi as the campaign gained momentum. The protesters are demanding major changes to the state’s examination system. They have also called for the cancellation of certain examinations and a federal investigation into the alleged irregularities. On Monday, demonstrators moved toward the legislature despite heavy security arrangements. Some protesters climbed over police barricades while carrying placards and Indian flags. They chanted slogans and called for action against those responsible for the alleged examination problems. The protests reflect growing frustration among students and unemployed youth in Jharkhand, one of India’s less economically developed states. The state government has held talks with representatives of the protesters. Officials have said that many of their demands have already been accepted. The government has also indicated that it is willing to continue discussions to address the remaining concerns. The demonstrations in Jharkhand come amid wider anger among Indian youth over alleged corruption in recruitment examinations. Similar protests were held in New Delhi in recent weeks. Those demonstrations focused on alleged irregularities and paper leaks involving national-level examinations. The protests eventually contributed to the resignation of India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan last month, following controversy surrounding alleged leaks in a national medical entrance examination. The growing demonstrations have highlighted concerns over unemployment and limited job opportunities for young people. Students and job seekers argue that examination irregularities can damage their career prospects after years of preparation. The protests also reflect broader concerns about transparency in public recruitment and the credibility of competitive examinations.

Nawaz Sharif heading LHAR to give old Lahore a new…

Lahore’s old city is going through a major change under a heritage revival plan, and the project has now been placed directly under the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-(N) leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. According to a recent notification issued by the Punjab government’s Local Government and Community Development Department, Nawaz Sharif has been made chairman of the newly formed board of the Lahore Heritage Area Revival project, also known as (LHAR) and patron-in-chief of the Punjab Walled Cities and Heritage Areas Authority (PWCHAA) Earlier, Nawaz Sharif only held the position of chief patron of the project. This meant he could give advice but had no formal powers. Under the new rules, the project’s legal structure has been changed, and a proper board has been formed. This board is now headed directly by the three-time former prime minister. The notification was published in the Punjab Gazette on July 23. It was issued under Section 8-A of the Punjab Walled Cities and Heritage Areas Authority Act 2012. The notification was approved by the governor of Punjab. With this change, the Lahore Heritage Area Revival Board has been formally established. The board now has full executive and administrative powers. Officials say this step was taken to remove bureaucratic delays in restoring the city’s historic fabric. The heritage revival areas cover Mughal, Sikh and colonial-era sites. Details of the ongoing work will be shared soon. Several government departments are working together on the project. These include the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency, known as TEPA, C&W and PWCHAA. TEPA is handling infrastructure work, such as building basements and parking. The PWCHAA is handling the restoration of old buildings. A major part of the plan is to turn old city streets into pedestrian zones. This includes the route from New Anarkali to Paan Gali in Lohari. It also includes Bora Bazaar, which has Bakshi Market inside it. Another walking route will run from Kacheri Chowk to Anarkali and then onward to Neela Gumbad. To name a few. Many buildings along these routes are old. All of them are being restored as part of the project. One of the biggest parts of the plan is a new public space called Neela Gumbad Square, where a two-floor underground parking garage is being built; it will become a place for families to walk and gather. Fountains and seating areas will be added. The Parks and Horticulture Authority will help plant trees and grass in the area. Other nearby heritage sites are also being restored. These include Ewing Hall and the first Bank of India building. The mosque near Neela Gumbad is also being renovated, while some roads nearby will be closed for traffic. LHAR spokesperson also responded to earlier criticism in media reports, where past reports only mentioned TEPA, even though other departments were also doing important work on the ground. The project now has a monitoring cell in place to track progress and check timely completion. The spokesperson further said that shopkeepers near Neela Gumbad were paid compensation a year before their shops were relocated. The officials had collected data on each shop’s daily business and income before deciding how much compensation to give; this was done so shopkeepers would not lose their livelihood during construction. With Nawaz Sharif now in the driving seat and his past records of completing mega projects on time, officials believe the project will move forward faster. The government says the goal is to restore Lahore’s historic buildings and streets while creating new public spaces for residents and visitors.
