Taylor Swift breaks silence after marrying Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift has returned to social media with her first post since marrying NFL star Travis Kelce, although the pop superstar has yet to publicly share wedding photos from their highly anticipated celebration.

The 14-time Grammy winner took to Instagram Stories on Monday, August 17, to share her latest musical obsession. Swift posted a promotional image for fellow singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers’ newly released album, Lost Weekend, and admitted that she had been unable to stop listening to the record.

The heartfelt message also served as a birthday tribute to Bridgers, who recently turned 32. Swift praised both the album and her fellow artist for the emotional depth of the project, particularly its approach to grief and personal experiences.

In her Instagram message, Swift described Bridgers’ ability to write about grief with vulnerability and detail as an “absolute triumph,” while praising the trust she places in listeners by sharing such honest and deeply personal emotions through her music.

Swift’s social media update comes shortly after she made a surprise appearance at the United Kingdom wedding of her longtime recording engineers Laura Sisk and Oli Jacobs. The private celebration took place on August 16 at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Gloucestershire.

Swift’s unexpected appearance quickly generated excitement among fans after photos and glimpses from the event began circulating online. Swifties paid close attention to her appearance, with many commenting on her hairstyle as well as the large wedding ring visible on her hand.

The singer attended the celebration without Kelce, who remained in Kansas City, marking one of the first public occasions since their wedding that the newlyweds have been seen apart.

Their temporary time apart has also prompted interest in how Swift and Kelce are managing their relationship while balancing demanding schedules and commitments in different locations. According to an insider quoted by Rob Shuter, the couple is determined not to allow physical distance to create problems in their marriage.

The source explained that Swift and Kelce understand how easily busy schedules can affect communication between couples. They are reportedly making a conscious effort to stay connected rather than allowing their professional responsibilities to push their relationship into the background.

The insider also emphasized that the couple understands the importance of small gestures in maintaining a strong marriage. Even a brief phone call, the source suggested, can make a meaningful difference when both partners are occupied with their own responsibilities.

Swift and Kelce are now experiencing their first period of time apart since their reported wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 3, 2026. Despite the distance, the couple appears focused on keeping their relationship strong while continuing to navigate their busy lives.

Swift’s latest Instagram post may have focused on music rather than her personal life, but it still marked a significant moment for fans eagerly waiting for a glimpse into her life as a newlywed.

He came to me and said Tu director banega aur teri pehli film main karoonga.’ (You will become a director and I will do your first film). I thought to myself… he’s probably low on oxygen and may not completely know what he’s saying.” Johar went on to thank Shah Rukh for always believing in him as a filmmaker, referring to the superstar as his “guru.” Their friendship has produced several successful films over the years, making them one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actor-director partnerships. Professionally, both stars have busy schedules ahead. Karan Johar is preparing to return as host of the second season of The Traitors, which is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on August 13. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for one of the biggest projects of his career, King, in which he will share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. The highly anticipated film is currently slated for release on December 24, 2026. Charli XCX is giving fans a rare glimpse into her personal life, revealing that her husband, George Daniel, played a major role in inspiring one of the most heartfelt songs from her latest music. The Grammy-winning pop star recently reflected on her relationship with Daniel, the drummer for British band The 1975, explaining that he was the first person who truly understood her on both a personal and creative level. That deep connection, she said, naturally found its way into her songwriting. She explained that their relationship is built on honesty, trust and a shared passion for music, qualities that have strengthened their bond since they first began dating. Rather than writing a traditional love song, Charli wanted to capture the comfort of being with someone who accepts every part of her personality. She said Daniel gave her the confidence to express emotions she had previously struggled to put into words. Charli and Daniel married earlier this year after announcing their engagement in 2023. Their creative partnership has become another defining feature of their relationship. Daniel has contributed to Charli’s music behind the scenes, and the pair have often exchanged ideas in the recording studio. Charli believes that working together has strengthened both their marriage and their artistic vision, allowing them to inspire one another without losing their individual identities. Fans have welcomed Charli’s latest comments, with many appreciating the candid insight into a relationship that has remained relatively private despite both artists’ high profiles. Her reflections also offer a reminder that meaningful relationships can inspire creativity in unexpected ways. For Charli XCX, the song is more than another addition to her catalogue. It represents a chapter of personal growth, love and acceptance. By crediting George Daniel as the person who truly understood her, the singer has highlighted the emotional connection that continues to shape both her life and her music.

Iran warns US forces face regional expulsion

Senior Iranian officials on Wednesday issued fresh warnings against the United States, declaring that American forces could eventually be forced out of the Middle East while linking any future reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to changes in Washington’s policies. Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Committee, said the removal of US military forces from the region and from countries hosting American bases was only a matter of time. In a post on X, he claimed the US would eventually have to focus its resources on securing its own territory instead of maintaining military installations abroad. The remarks came as Iranian media reported that ongoing discussions between Tehran and Oman over future navigation arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz would not automatically lead to the reopening of the strategic shipping route. According to Iranian state media, negotiations are being conducted solely between Iran and Oman, with officials insisting that the process is independent of the United States. Iranian sources maintained that even if an agreement is reached with Muscat, the waterway will remain closed unless Washington changes what Tehran describes as its hostile policies and interference. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, carrying a significant share of global oil shipments. Any disruption to traffic through the strait has the potential to affect international energy markets and regional security. Meanwhile, the United Nations expressed concern over a sharp increase in executions in Iran. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said at least 56 people had been executed on national security-related charges since March, including dozens connected to protest-related cases. He warned that the growing use of capital punishment appeared aimed at creating fear within society. Regional tensions also escalated after Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed responsibility for a missile attack on the Saudi oil tanker Wafaa in the northern Red Sea. The group said the vessel was struck by ballistic missiles as part of its campaign targeting Saudi shipping. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the movement had targeted eight Saudi oil tankers since launching its maritime blockade in late July and said dozens of other vessels had either been prevented from passing or forced to change course. Saudi authorities had not commented on the claims at the time of reporting. Separately, Iranian lawmaker Esmail Kowsari criticised US President Donald Trump’s approach toward Tehran, describing Washington’s negotiating strategy as inconsistent and unreliable. He accused the US administration of issuing conflicting statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s regional position. Iranian officials also blamed what they described as continued US pressure and military threats for slowing negotiations with Oman over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, insisting that Tehran would not conclude any agreement under external pressure.
