Transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney has responded after US President Donald Trump mentioned her several times during his speech at the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner, saying she was surprised to remain a topic of conversation years after her controversial Bud Light partnership. Mulvaney addressed the remarks in a TikTok video, where she congratulated CNN correspondent Kaitlan Collins before responding to Trump’s comments.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner, originally scheduled for April, was postponed after a gunman opened fire while the event was underway. During his speech on Friday, Trump congratulated CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins on receiving a journalism award before joking about her success and comparing her to Mulvaney.
Trump said, “I thought Kaitlan had really made it big with a major new sponsorship, but then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can, it was Dylan Mulvaney.” He went on to criticise Mulvaney’s 2023 promotional campaign with Bud Light, adding, “Dylan Mulvaney cost Bud Light $35 billion in market cap. That was the worst commercial ever made by the way, for those few people who want to hear that. Most people don’t care, but I would. I wouldn’t want to hire Dylan any time soon.”
According to the report, Trump later shared an edited image on social media that placed Kaitlan Collins’ face onto Mulvaney’s body from the Bud Light advertisement, further extending the joke beyond the dinner. The post quickly circulated online and generated widespread discussion on social media.
In a TikTok response posted on Sunday, Mulvaney began by congratulating Collins on her award. She said, “I would like to tell her that I’m incredibly honored to be compared to her in any way, and I hope that she keeps doing all the great work.” She then pointed out that Trump had mentioned her repeatedly during his speech, saying, “And yet I am still his topic of conversation all these years later.”
Reflecting on the continued attention she receives, Mulvaney added, “It seems to me that I might be like the one that got away for these men.” She also made it clear that she would not want support from an administration whose policies she believes do not support her or many others, stating, “I wouldn’t want to be professionally supported by an administration that doesn’t personally support me or so many others in this country.”
Mulvaney concluded her video with a pointed remark about the criticism she has received from the administration. “Maybe being publicly mocked and criticized by this administration is actually like the greatest compliment of all,” she said. Her response has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions online, with supporters praising her composure while critics continued debating the controversy surrounding her Bud Light partnership and Trump’s remarks.

    DPM Dar boosts Pakistan-ADB partnership

    Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila on Wednesday to review the bank’s partnership with Pakistan and discuss ways to strengthen future cooperation. The visit took place on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting, where Pakistan is participating in a series of high-level diplomatic engagements with regional and international partners. He signed the visitors’ book before holding discussions on the institution’s evolving development agenda and its ongoing collaboration with Pakistan. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in several important sectors, including infrastructure, energy, climate resilience, education, economic reforms and sustainable development. Both sides also discussed future opportunities to support Pakistan’s economic growth and development priorities. Dar later attended a working luncheon hosted by Pakistan’s Executive Director to the ADB, Nashita Mohsin. The event was attended by Pakistani professionals serving in senior leadership positions across different departments of the bank. During the interaction, Dar appreciated the contributions of Pakistani professionals working at the ADB. He said their expertise and leadership have strengthened the institution’s work while enhancing Pakistan’s image at the international level. He also congratulated Nashita Mohsin on assuming her responsibilities as Pakistan’s Executive Director to the Asian Development Bank and expressed confidence that she would further strengthen Pakistan’s engagement with the institution. On the sidelines of the ASEAN forum, Dar also met Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rehman. The two leaders reviewed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation between the two countries. Both sides welcomed the steady improvement in diplomatic ties and appreciated the growing engagement in trade, communication and people-to-people contacts. They noted that the launch of direct flights earlier this year has further improved connectivity and created new opportunities for cooperation. The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the positive momentum in bilateral relations and agreed to continue close engagement in areas of mutual interest. Dar and Rehman also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including issues affecting South Asia and broader global challenges. They emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation in promoting regional peace, stability and economic development. Earlier, Dar arrived in Manila with a Pakistani delegation to participate in the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting. During the visit, he is expected to attend the forum’s plenary session and hold several bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from participating countries. The ASEAN Regional Forum brings together foreign ministers and senior diplomats from ASEAN member states and major global powers to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, energy security, food security, geopolitical developments and other international issues. Representatives from the United States, China, Japan, India, Australia, South Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom and the European Union are also participating in the meeting.

They said the promotion of the committee’s material from the Indian side could indicate an attempt to exploit political and social issues in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Defence analyst and retired Major General Zahid Mahmood said people were already aware of claims regarding foreign involvement in the activities of the banned Action Committee. He said information about alleged external support had previously emerged through what he described as reliable sources. Mahmood said efforts had been made to develop a specific narrative about Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, the objective was to damage the broader Kashmir freedom movement and create divisions among the people. He alleged that India and other international actors were playing a role in shaping narratives related to Kashmir. The retired general also claimed that some international forces and media groups were helping promote these narratives. He said such efforts could be aimed at influencing public opinion and weakening support for the Kashmir cause. Security sources maintained that the alleged circulation of the videos was part of a broader attempt to provoke anti-Pakistan sentiments. They said the use of material associated with the banned committee could also be intended to create political unrest and confusion among the public. The allegations come amid continued tensions surrounding political developments in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities are closely monitoring activities along the Line of Control and the dissemination of material they believe could fuel unrest.
