Ed Sheeran shares the story behind KATSEYE’s ‘Animal’

Ed Sheeran has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of KATSEYE’s latest single, “Animal,” revealing how the collaboration began and the inspiration behind the song and its music video. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter recently shared a studio recording in which he explained that the project started after he heard KATSEYE’s breakout hit, “Gnarly,” while traveling in Mexico. Impressed by the group’s sound and energy, Sheeran said he became an instant fan and reached out with the hope of writing a song for them. The studio clip shows Sheeran performing the chorus before the members recorded their vocals, offering a glimpse into the songwriting process. He explained that “Animal” is about the side of a person that only close friends or loved ones truly get to see. According to Sheeran, everyone has a bold, carefree version of themselves that comes alive when they feel completely comfortable, and the song encourages listeners to embrace that hidden confidence. That message is reflected throughout the official music video, which blends polished visuals with high-energy choreography. The members transition between refined, glamorous looks and more fearless performances, representing the contrast between the image people present to the world and the uninhibited version of themselves. The visual concept reinforces the song’s themes of confidence, freedom and self-expression. The music video also features a special cameo from actress Demi Moore, who helps introduce the story before the group fully embraces their “animal” personas. Her appearance adds a dramatic element to the narrative, leading into the video’s vibrant dance sequences and striking visuals. Sheeran’s collaboration with KATSEYE highlights his admiration for the rising global group. Rather than being approached to write the track, he revealed that his interest stemmed from genuinely enjoying their music and wanting to contribute to their next chapter. By combining Sheeran’s songwriting with KATSEYE’s powerful vocals and performance style, “Animal” showcases the group’s evolving artistry while giving fans a rare look at the creative journey that transformed an idea in the studio into one of their latest releases. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbV6A–iZhj/?igsh=azZ0cTB2ZGlvdGIx

The Democratic Republic of Congo is facing the fastest-spreading Ebola outbreak on record, with official data confirming that total infections have surpassed 4,000 cases. According to the national public health institute, recorded infections have reached 4,053, alongside 1,850 deaths across five provinces: Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut-Uele, and Tshopo. Research published in the journal Science indicates that the virus was circulating in Ituri as early as January 2026, months before the epidemic was officially declared on 15 May, with over 500 suspected cases occurring during that initial period. Ranking as the world’s second-largest Ebola outbreak in history, the epidemic is surpassed only by the 2014–2016 West African outbreak.
