“That fuse panel is as good as it gets for 48 years old, no wiring hacks, clean relay blocks, no signs of burnt fuse terminals. And all the fuse positions have the correct fuse in them, and fuse 13 is supposed to be empty. Gotta love the hand-painted stripes on many of the wires, these early cars are full of little easter eggs like that.
Definitely worth the hassle of getting the pics to instill bidder confidence!”

This car is more than a time capsule, it is a time machine. Drive it and you will be transported back to Italy during an automotive golden age. A 100 point Pebble Beach example couldn’t give you any more pleasure than enjoying this in today’s real world. GLWTA.”

“I bought my 1st 300SL roadster in 1987, and sold my last one in 2018. I have loved the model since I was a 1st grader in 1957. I found the 300SL to be remarkably bulletproof when sorted by an excellent mechanic. I 1st met Scott Grundfor in 1989. My current 993 cup-based racecar has THEE original M64/70 993 Cup 3.8L engine that was originally in this BaT car listed (before John Ruther had it converted to an RSR, courtesy of Alwin Springer of ANDIAL and who was also the head of PMNA back then). Basically I have the original low hours still-sealed 3.8L Cup motor and original motorsport ECU/DME that belonged to this car listed when it arrived stateside back in 1995. Small world indeed!”

“Honda corporate donated 50 of these Big Reds to our Sheriff’s department in 1990, and provided advanced training to me and the rest of our deputies who were assigned these vehicles, including taking on thick underbrush at speed, when a four wheel ATV would dry dock. They became marked tactical vehicles for an amazingly-wide variety of extreme duties. What a magnificent machine. GLWTA!!!!!”
