“My late grandfather had a 92 Accord EX sedan that he took to 800,000 before he passed. Unfortunately it was in northern Illinois so by the time he died the car was only about 75% there from the beltline down due to rust. It was a stick and still had the original engine and transmission (I think it was only on t he second clutch) and still drove like a dream. “@CForrest 1975 MY 930 was RoW and were badged simply “Turbo”. The “Turbo Carrera” badging was for US version cars starting in 1976 MY.
Anyone seriously considering a 930 of this vintage should refer to Ryan Snodgrass’s award winning book Turbo 3.0, it is the reference standard for these cars. If you don’t own a copy, buy it. GLWTA!”

“Mezger engine block was literally built to be wailed on at redline for 24 hrs straight, it’s nearly impossible to destroy it, you have to be intentionally holding it past redline for probably 1 hr+.
Reminds me of the old cash for clunkers video where they emptied the oil pan on an 80 series landcruiser, put it in neutral, and floored it. It took like 20+ mins at past redline for the engine to give out with no lubrication.”

“I have and would drive any 200 cross country. Bring a couple spanners 10mm 13 mm pop into advance grab some coolant and oil, bring an extra thermostat and you should be good to go.
If coming west stay off 80 at night when rainy lol. 200’s are the best when on point.”
