    It’s time for the Weekly Weird and Wonderful—our collection featuring some of the most interesting and unique vehicles featured on BaT in the last seven days. These certainly aren’t the only notable auctions on our site. In fact, there were oh-so-many vehicles that we couldn’t include—you know there is some crazy stuff on the site when a mobile recording studio and two cars with Jim Farley ownership history get left on the cutting room floor. Not to worry, you can still find those and more among the ~1,100 cars currently on our live auctions page.

  • BaT Auction Success Story: jerhofer’s Singh-er 911 — Explained

    This latest Success Story comes to us from BaT member jerhofer, who won this G50 Carrera coupe from SinghMotors in a November 2025 BaT auction:
    In November 2025, I won this 51k-mile, all-original 1988 911 Carrera coupe, powered by a 3.2L flat-six backed with the G50 transmission. It was located in Lakeville, Connecticut, a five-minute drive from Lime Rock. The seller was Bobby Singh, whose Porsche business was located in the very same building that Skip Barber had used for his racing school cars.

    BaT Alumni Project Update: leokahn’s Ripe Olive 911SC You Should Know

    BaT member leokahn became the latest custodian of this 1981 Porsche 911SC roller project when he won it from brentcline in a June 2019 BaT auction. After five years of work it’s back on the road, and he wrote in to tell us about it:
    Mr. Cline was easy to work with. As soon as the auction finished, I went to the bank, requested a cashier’s check, and flew to Augusta, Georgia. I rented a car and drove to Aiken, South Carolina, where I met Mr. Cline and delivered him the check. That same day, we loaded the Porsche into an auto transport, which delivered it the next day at my shop in Miami.

    “Wow! Owner of touring #9 here. Hope to see a second B8 4.6 touring come to the US! If the new owner is US based, please find me. Happy to connect and provide steer on how to maintain this thing in the US. I just refreshed the hydraulic system on my car after getting it back from the BMWCCA Foundation museum.
    The unique thing about the Alpina B8 touring is it’s the only e36 touring chassis that got the m3 rear subframe reinforcements welded in as well.”

    “This is SW, this car belonged to me for quite a while. I purchased it as a 4 speed A/C car. It was extremely nice, straight with a beautiful undercarriage, which was the main reason I bought it. The Paint was nice but I am very picky so we disassembled it and had it blocked and resprayed. It drove amazingly well. After a few years I sold it to a friend so I wouldn’t take it apart and make it a restomod like all my others. He had a 5speed installed, drove it some but since he owns over 75 other…”

Matched with a few good options like the trunk organizer and heated seats this is a great example of a car that all of us would buy 10 times over given the chance to go back 20 years and walk into a new car dealership!     My very first car was precisely this, but in tan and minus the Cragars. Served me well throughout college and for a cross-country drive to Southern California after college. Raced a Mazda RX-7 across approximately 100 miles of the desert Southwest, with my 10-speed bike strapped to the roof rack. I pulled away from him on the flat stretches and he caught and passed me in the mountain curves. Eventually my 440 needed gas and he didn’t. Good times.

    “This example is all steel. The Fulvia coupe 1.2 were all steel up to VIN 018988 and all aluminium panels to the last one VIN 021436 So 2448 coupe 1.2 with aluminium panels.
    This one looks very original througout. For now I can only see that the tyres are not the original height 185/70R14 The original size is 145/80R14.”
