Understanding celebrating Mile Marker 200—Limited Edition Signed Posters on Sale Now!

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

It seems like yesterday that we were celebrating sludgo’s 100th Mile Marker, but in fact it was four years ago. Since then, he’s continued to grace our pages with his special brand of wit, wisdom, and humanity. Today, we’ll be publishing Mile Marker 200, and that’s cause for celebration. It’s been an amazing journey that shows no signs of slowing down, and in fact his role on BaT has recently expanded with the new Riding Shotgun interview series.

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

We closed nearly 1,400 auctions in the last seven days and have since replaced them with 1,100 more, so to save you some time we’ve done the hard work of compiling this compact list of odd or noteworthy cars, trucks, boats, bikes, and leather jumpsuits on BaT.

BaT Auction Success Story: Green Eggs and Damn! You Should Know

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

BaT member JoeyFreshwater recently wrapped up a road trip home following his win of this 996 C4 cabriolet, sold by GattoVeloce in an April 2025 BaT auction—but with a twist. He wrote in to tell us about it:
This story isn’t some saccharine tale of polished chrome and rose-tinted spectacles. It’s about the brutal, beautiful reality of chasing an automotive itch, especially when that itch involves one of Stuttgart’s finest, albeit most misunderstood, creations.

Question of the Week: What’s Your Favorite Road Trip Stop of All Time?—WINNER’S UPDATE You Should Know

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

    WINNER’S ANNOUNCEMENT:

We’re back after a long Labor Day weekend, and it’s time to announce the winner for our Question of the Week! Our victor will receive the prize of all prizes: a $25 credit for a hat or t-shirt in the BaT Gear Store (there’s lots of great stuff to choose from right now).

Our question this week was: what’s your favorite road trip stop of all time?

“The one where he let me go with just a warning…”

    Ditto, @3Pedalonly.

We made sure not to speed through this week’s thread, which was filled with a variety of quirky stops and go-to eateries. As we visited each of the nominations, one particular comment grabbed our attention. BaT member @TimM happened upon a submarine along his travels—a strange sighting considering he was approximately 1,000 miles from the Atlantic Ocean! It was the HMCS Ojibwa, and he wrote all about it:

A Look at baT Auction Success Story: Return of the CTS-V.R

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

BaT member Ctsvr brought his CTS-V race car, which he won from Dlawrench back in November 2024, back into to the public spotlight at Road Atlanta. He recently wrote in to tell us about his Cadillac and included some great photos and a video of the car in action!
As a Cadillac CTS-V enthusiast (specifically the first-generation V1), I naturally had my notifications turned on specifically for that model on Bring a Trailer. When I saw this Cadillac CTS-V.R up for sale, I knew I had to make it happen. I had previously attempted to purchase one of the other chassis out of a private collection, but was never able to come to an agreement on the deal.

Bring a Trailer and Pennzoil Present: Something Simpler—Our Latest Success Story Video — Explained

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

Our newest Success Story video is a bit of a departure from the norm. Most of our subjects grew up with some sort of attachment to and appreciation of cars and car culture. Old cars weren’t a part of Ranna‘s life until very recently, but through running her family’s home design business she developed an eye for style, an appreciation of craft, and a fearless approach to life. On a lark, she bought a blacked-out 1979 Corolla on BaT in January, taught herself to drive stick, and has been enjoying the change of pace that comes with driving a fully analog vehicle. We spent the day with Ranna, her family, and Doom (an adorable Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix), and we’re excited to share her story.

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

Friend of BaT Jim Huff, connoisseur of the Neue Klasse, talks with Alex and Randy about racing at this year’s Car Week, mixing it up with Giulias and GTAs in his BMW 1800 Ti, developing camaraderie on track, helmet-yelling, the ultimate old-school tow rig, the wooden boat of our dreams, and the 50th annual SAAC meeting.

BaT Auction Success Story: Wheels on Wheels with frenchfelgen You Should Know

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

This Success Story comes to us from frenchfelgen—a serial BaT seller and wheel purveyor with over 100 listings to date. In May 2024, he sold a set of BBS LM wheels to BaT user JoeCab for his Ferrari F355 and a set of BBS GT-II wheels to L39E for his widebody 993 911. He followed up with both of them for their thoughts, and provided his own account from a seller’s perspective.
From JoeCab, the winning bidder on the set of BBS LM wheels for his Ferrari F355:
My original F355 wheels were in rough shape; the fronts suffered from cracks in the inner barrels and had been poorly repaired. As you know, magnesium is not easily repairable, and the alloy can develop hidden porosity issues that are not visible under the paint. So I didn’t really consider the original wheels a safe option for anything other than car shows.

    This Week’s Weird and Wonderful—September 5, 2025 — Explained

    Byjustpastevehicles August 28, 2026

It’s been a short week thanks to Labor Day, but for many of us that just meant packing five days of work into four. The real tragedy of this is that it likely left you with even less time to peruse the endless scroll of interesting vehicles that arrived on our pages over the last several days. Do not despair! Your humble editors have taken it upon themselves to look at every single listing, and select a small list of the most unusual and notable cars from the crowded field.
