It has always been my dream to own a Clive Cussler owned vehicle. As Mr. Cussler created my all-time fictional hero, in Dirk Pitt.
To this day, part of my automotive bucket list if I ever had lottery money, is a Cussler musuem collection vehicle. Right after a MB 540K and a Duesenberg SC cabriolet.
As a child growing up, I was a rabid James Bond fan, and had started scuba diving at 12, and become a member of the Cousteau Society the same year.

“I was fortunate enough to be able to watch Chuck Wray’s shop prepare a Bizzarrini for Pebble Beach, years ago- I think it was 2003. It came second in the Giugiaro class, which (of course) was judged by Giugiaro; best in class was a Ghibli, which he mentioned was his favorite of his designs. The level of meticulous work and knowledge at Chuck’s shop has to be seen to be believed. As Frank said, back then not many knew that these cars even existed. Nice to see them getting their propers.”

I sprung for the Polestar engineered upgrade and extended range battery (up to 50 miles on a charge), as well as air suspension (that lowers the car about 3 inches when I click “Polestar Mode.” Just here to say that this drivetrain — super charger +turbo + electric motor + Polestar tuning is absolutely mad! “This generation of Mondial is SO easy and inexpensive to maintain. Belt replacement is engine in, same for the clutch. This should be emphasized because in the Ferrari world, this is unusual.”

“Starting in 2023 these cars are turbocharged only it runs the 3gen erad rear diff that is constantly engaged compared to the clutch style of the previous model which could disconnect when not needed. The fun part is that if you are driving electric only you are rwd with instant torque.
I trekked down from Seattle to Cali for. ‘24 with 4k miles on it. It’s my daily commuter and plugging it in at home I have only topped off the gas tank once in 2 months.
