“John Oates was a very capable racer, campaigning a Tiga in SCCA S2000 among other cars.
During the Pontiac Fiero sponsored Big-Bam-Boom Tour, John tested a NASCAR Modified at Stafford Speedway, and Pontiac teamed him with Clay Young in the Dole Fiero for a couple of IMSA GTU races.
There was a crash at Brainerd or Road America (I forget which)… but not due to driver error. When Clay handed off the car to John he said something was rattling around in the transmission. Eventually the trans…”

“An incredible presentation here, under the radar in its day and virtually indestructible —
Make no mistake this is quite a find with the M130 straight-six one of my favorite engines. In this smaller W114 there’s plenty of power considering these were also utilized in the larger W108 series.
Notable recent service items ‘23 – ‘24 including:
    – shifter linkage and kick down arm bushing, and solenoid
    – front subframe mounts, engine mounts, and tie rods
    – alternator belts, accelerator…”

“This 599 is an earlier production as in the later production for 2007 the ceramic brakes became standard. Also, Ferrari jacked up the base price from $258k to $321k base price. Significantly increased the cost. These cars are appreciating fast. F-1 transmission is a very nice transmission in my opinion even though general public prefers the clutch version. Good luck.”

    “A layman’s view.
In 1987, at the age of 27, I quit my job and travelled to Europe for my 1st time for a 6-month adventure. After skiing a few areas in the Alps, I made my way north, as far as Bergen, Norway. Summer had arrived, and I wanted to have some beach fun.
The section on France in the Frommer’s Guide had many pages on the Mediterranean Coast, but few on the Atlantic.
I decided on a road less travelled, the Atlantic. To my pleasant surprise, I discovered a magnificent area…”

Very cool car. Unique color, mostly see red, black or blue.
    Would love this.”

A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:

“A 1952 220A Cabriolet was my daily driver in the early 1970s. When decades later I drove past a billboard depicting a painted one on Sunset Blvd, I did a u-turn to see what it was about. It advertised the Hiro Yamagata exhibit at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery running from Sept 13 thru Oct 23, 1994. I was at the opening, chatted with Mr Yamagata, and marveled that I was seeing more 220As in one room than I had seen in my entire life.
I asked him why he chose this car to paint. He replied…”

“This is the car that convinced me just why fulvias were rally champions. Having known the owner for a while you can rest assured that this particular example was treated with both love and care.
Having had a chance to drive it down a curvy road or two, it’s mechanically perfect and just a hoot to drive as well.
The gorgeous color doesn’t hurt either.”

-Powerful enough to explore in the mountains and pull a boat to the lake.
    -Always classy. Always adventurous.

I race my Datsun 510 in the historic B Sedan class against many of the cars supported by Jim at vintage events. The cars under his tent are always extremely well prepared, highly competitive, and generally with great history. I’m in. Let’s see where this baby ends up.
