“Drag racing in the south in the 60’s I watched the advent of the lightweights. Lakeland Drag strip in Memphis had among others Herb McCandless aka Mr 4 Speed. I swear he could shift faster than an automatic! ! Car just shuttered when he slammed into gear. As I remember also circa 63 NHRA outlawed aluminum front caps? At the nationals people would tech and then go switch the entire front cap. NHRA got hip and would wait in staging area. With magnet in hand! Truth or consequence time!!”

“Great looking e28 that has been dialed in the way all e28s should be dialed in, starting with euro bumpers and properly lowered suspension. 👏
You’d be hard pressed to find better wheels for an e28 than the 16″ BBS RX wheels.
The crack free dash is also a bonus, as is the top end motor refresh just a few thousand miles ago.
The Recaros alone are worth between two and five thousand dollars in case someone wanted to replace them with e28 sport seats.

As said, not only does it NOT need power steering, leave off all options including AC and Borrani wire wheels on these cars. The AC in this era had an ugly compressor, was very heavy and not very effective. Borrani’s are certainly beautiful but along with the attaching hardware are much heavier than the race proven Campagnolo disc wheels with their P car style provenance.…”
