The comments regarding frequent oil changes are spot on! Failure to follow or ideally improve on Leyland guidelines would result in multiple o ring failures (usually hardening) and damaged clutch packs.

“The gap between the order date and the serialized date on the Marti report reminds me that Ford workers went on strike in the fall of 1976.
I had factory ordered a new Econoline 150 around the same time as this Bronco and I took delivery in January of 1977. My van was the same Midnight Metallic Blue as this Bronco. A Great color”

“The childhood memories are strong with this one! GM Design did an excellent job of evolving the colonnade coupes for Buick and Oldsmobile toward the sheer look that began with the ’75 Seville. The Cutlass was the best selling car in the USA in 1976 with nearly 500K units produced. A neighbor had one in this color with bucket seats and I was thrilled to get a ride now and then. “I owned two 1976 Trans Ams back in the ’80s and ’90s: a 400 4spd and a 455 4spd. They are really special cars. I often notice TA owners leave the shaker hood scoops sealed, and I wonder why. It takes a few minutes to remove the plate and the intake noise completely changes the driving experience and adds some power. My friends would ask me to get on it just so they could hear the roar from the shaker scoop which sounded like it would suck in animals and small children if they were too close.…”

“The previous owner was a good friend of mine that has now gone to the garage in the sky. Seeing this brings up some great memories and I like to think he’s watching the auction from above. This was his final sale before he passed, he was pretty much in his last days during the auction. I was so pleased the auction went so well for him at the time.
