Back in the 1970’s on Seattles Green Lake were some special times. We would sit on the beach with a battery operated B&W 2 inch TV screen watching Indy and at the same time enjoy the boat races. He bought an ’87 Camry — same generation as this one. It opened his eyes so wide that he bought another one in ’89, then one after the other in ’96, ’02, ’08, ’12 and ’14, When he passed, we took the ’12 and ’14 and traded it in for a ’19 for my Mom to drive. “I drove a 2012 manual Fit for three years before I lost it in a flood trying to cross an underpass. They float extremely well by the way.
It was SO much fun to drive. It fit two bikes in the back with the seats up. Storage was best. I’ve not had a similar size car since that was as enjoyable. The Fiesta ST is a close second but the FIT had better (less) torque steer when burning the tires in the wet. It would get rubber past 2nd gear on moist roads.
