“@Thoney Love the old pics, your Dad was a cool dude ‘57 Chev for mom, a bike for him for sunny days, ( was that a Norton ? ) a motorhome for the family and the Charger with a 4 speed for a blast, beauty car GLWTA I’ll be watching. Greg”
“Impressive longhood. Dogleg, solid door boxes, crank windows, no AC, some patina……tons of originality………oh to be the next custodian of this tiny little open 911😍”

“A high school friend had one of these. It was light on its feet and plenty quick. Ahead of its time with an overhead cam engine, and so rare today. Jay Leno’s build of his Firebird Sprint adds some value to this one, in my opinion.”

“My first car was a 1963 Rambler that my uncle sold to me for $50. It ran forever — you can’t kill these cars! Although the vacuum powered windshield wipers would not move in cold weather, so in snow storms the passenger had to lean out of the window and manually swish the wipers so the driver could see!”

A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:
“Jimmy Don Ventura had owned enough unusual automobiles over the years to believe he understood the public. He’d driven a lime-green AMC Gremlin, a Triumph Spitfire that leaked oil with the determination of an East Texas mosquito, and a Plymouth Barracuda that had once stranded him in front of the Dairy Twin during the lunch rush. Every one of them had attracted comments, questions, and unsolicited mechanical advice from complete strangers.
Then he bought Fred.
Officially, it was a 1949…”

A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:
“Formula for years, worked in secrecy with Mercury and designed the 500 Super Sport Crossover expressly for the new 600-hp Mercury Verado V12.
It was the first boat fitted with these innovative V-12 motors that had a fixed powerhead and a rotating lower unit.
I saw the original factory black hulled SSC at Soverel Harbor in Palm Beach Gardens when it first hit the water,
Spent some time talking with the crew, admiring the boat and the serious Mercury motors the likes of which I’d never seen…”

“I love this car – the color is one of my top choices – and that interior … so cool and unique – I have a ’74 GTS and as others here have said the driving experience is special – so low to the ground with the motor humming on your shoulder – hypnotic – GLWTA”

“There are two of us in the USA (that we know of) that have Turkis Coupes, me being one of them. No matter where I drive, I get thumbs up and comments about what an amazing color this is and how well it compliments the smooth curvy lines of an E9. This example looks nearly perfect, and the seller is THE source of E9 expertise. You can buy this car with the utmost of confidence, and join Club Turkis! You won’t be disappointed! GLWTA!”

“One of my long-time car friends is a national champion level modeler. When my wife and I married his wedding gift to us was a custom-built diorama of a C-Type Jaguar at le Mans. Remains my second favorite gift from the wedding (my wife’s unending love is the most favorite).
There have been far too many years passed since I build a car or airplane model. I have quite a few unbuilt kits on the shelf, I need to either get building or move them along.”

“I almost bought one of these in silver blue 45+ years ago but my dog could not stand up in the back so I bought a used Audi Fox wagon (think VW Dasher) instead.
I’m excited to have this opportunity to own one now. I was impressed with the Sellers response and candid video talk. I’m unsure if I’ll meet the Seller but I want to thank you.

“Like others, hopefully you will take this to the Historics and let it eat! I spectate and enjoy getting to see the first car I ever drove on a road course – the #78 Boss 302 Matthews car that you would be running with if you go. The guy that restored it barely knew me and still let me run it in the Cobra Club novice group around 35 years ago now that I think about it! Changed my life – drag raced one more time after that before putting fat tires all around on my 70 Fastback 🙂 Guy that has…”

(Recently, we even had two Vallelungas in the shop simultaneously). I searched for quite some time looking for a solid no stories Mangusta for my personal collection. “Thank you all for the responses! This car has been in my family since the mid 90’s and one that I fell in love with the moment my Grandfather brought it home. As a kid I use to sit in the back seat and watch him drive it (amazed at how his hands and feet would move) and whenever it was parked I would sit behind the wheel and pretend to drive it myself. When I finally turned 16 he taught me how to drive and although there were many frustrating moments for him and I in this car we both would love…”

“There is a really really good chance that I painted the door jams on that car! I worked at the St. Thomas assembly plant in St. Thomas Ontario Canada from 1980 to 2011. Every time I see one of these it brings back really good memories. And trust me these things were built Ford tough. all the door jams on the early cars like this one we’re all painted my hand. In time we got the robots to start doing door jams. I was 21 years old when this car was built. Good luck with the auction I would love…”

“As we all know, cars are a huge bridge in bringing people together. I first met this car in a garage at Sonoma Raceway attracted by its rad stance. Ventured into the garage with my 11yo and the owner says “go ahead, take a closer look, get in it!” A small conversation later and come to find out he is neighbors with a good friend of mine. We hve been good friends ever since.
