It is certainly tough to say goodbye to “Baby” after keeping her safe in the Centennial garage since 1983, but we are thrilled to watch her go to a great new home where her story can continue. “I’m very familiar with this car. I’m the guy that painted it and changed the color from green to blue while working for Mr.Qvale.
It’s nice to see that my work has held up this long and still looking good. This is the only one with this color so it is quite unique. Best of luck to the seller and the buyer.”

“My dad also has a Judson in his ’56 lowlight and got me hooked on 36hps. I currently have an Okrasa and just pulled a ’58 T2 36hp out of my Brasilia science project. I see at one point in picture 507 this Ghia had an Okrasa setup. I would have loved to talk to the owner/builder and hear their feedback on the differences. Does the motor still have the Okrasa 69.5 crank or upgraded (356/custom) camshaft with the Judson setup? Does it by chance have a the uber rare “high compression” domed VW…”

“When I was President of the Pit Crew at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles I had the privilege of arranging a Tour of Bruce Meyer’s garage off Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Among his fabulous cars (e.g. the first production Cobra) is the SWB Berlinetta that won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1961, the highest placing of a SWB at Le Mans.”

“A few years ago I took one down the Oregon coast, right after some seat time in a GT3. Same engine DNA, same urgency to rev, but the experience couldn’t be more different in the best way. Top down, rowing your own gears, flat-six at 9k RPM echoing off the cliffs… it turns every mile into an event. What a great Porsche. Here’s to the next owner racking up the miles on it.”

“One owner is an extremely rare car. A small group of us starting tacking all the Zanardi’s when they came out. We used to communicate on the old NSX listserv, and then everything moved to Lud’s nsxprime.com. Our spreadsheet had 51 Zanardi’s on it and I still have a hard copy.
In addition, back in 2008 I pulled all 51 carfax’s. Even then there were fewer than 10 original owner cars. Two of which had never been reregistered, and one of those was known to have a supercharger…”

“A symphony of engine and exhaust! Given the size of the 440 (and 383s they also built), they were unable to fit power steering or brakes in the car. As show in the video, you can steer the car with the throttle!
As for the color, this is one of the best shades of green and suits this car perfectly.”

Mike Z who ran the Saleen shop floor set up a red door complete with gurney bubble on a small dolly door stand. For display and option for people coming to have your door converted.
Of course vin 1314 / signature car owner / Me wanted it that day to swap on my red car for the event!
The door was display only because it was a blemish / defect door and not complete , hence the parts missing on this door!
I think Bony had the first bubble after Gurney…”

People obviously differ regarding what they want from a car, but for me, it really doesn’t get much better than this among modern cars.
