Alia Bhatt could not contain her excitement once the trailer for Ranbir Kapoor’s mythological epic Ramayana finally dropped. The Jigra actress turned to her Instagram story on Thursday morning to share it with fans. She kept her caption short and sweet. It simply read “DIWALI 2026,” dressed up with a few sparkle emojis.

Fans had been watching closely for this moment. Alia has always been vocal about supporting Ranbir’s work online. This is not the first time Alia has praised Ranbir’s work on the project either. During an earlier Zoom conversation, she spoke warmly about his performance. “I think Ranbir has just done such a beautiful job and I just can not wait for you guys to see it,” she said. “It is just out of this world.”

The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. It brings together a powerhouse cast. Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Yash takes on the role of Ravana. Sunny Deol steps into the part of Hanuman. Together, they make up one of the most talked-about casts in recent Indian cinema.

Ramayana’s first part is scheduled for release this Diwali, in 2026. Its second instalment will follow a year later, during Diwali 2027. With the scale of the project and the anticipation building around it, the Kapoor family’s theatre outing might turn out to be just as special for audiences as it will be for young Raha.

He described meetings with family members, doctors and lawyers as Imran Khan’s fundamental legal right. He urged the judiciary to address the matter and ensure that the former prime minister received appropriate medical attention. Gohar said the party’s concerns would not end until Imran Khan was provided proper medical treatment and regular access to his family and legal team. He also criticised what he described as a prolonged dispute over access to the PTI founder. Gohar said the situation had continued since October and called for an end to what he termed a “cat and mouse game”. The PTI’s demands came shortly before the Supreme Court was scheduled to hear matters concerning Imran Khan. The jail report had recommended increasing family interaction to help manage his anxiety and blood pressure. It also contained details of his medical examinations and treatment. PTI leaders argued that the reported health concerns should be treated seriously and that hospitalisation would ensure closer medical supervision.     Typhoon Dolphin hits Japan’s Okinawa as China prepares for landfall

Airports and maritime hubs across eastern China, including Ningbo Lishe International Airport and Shanghai’s Yangshan port, have suspended operations or cleared vessels from harbors. In Taiwan, authorities reported the cancellation of 63 international flights, whilst Taipei rejected maritime traffic control directives issued by Beijing for the Taiwan Strait as baseless.

    MQM-P rivals move toward reconciliation

    KARACHI: Signs of reconciliation have begun to emerge within the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) after a violent confrontation at the party’s Bahadurabad headquarters, with senior leaders initiating behind-the-scenes contacts to ease tensions and restore unity. Two days after the clash, senior party figures, including Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani, visited the party’s central office to discuss organizational affairs. Speaking to reporters, Mustafa Kamal rejected speculation of an internal power struggle, insisting that the party remained united despite recent events. According to sources, communication has been established between the two rival camps—one led by Mustafa Kamal and the other by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui—in an effort to defuse tensions. A joint press conference is reportedly being considered as part of efforts to present a united front, although party leaders have neither confirmed nor denied the possibility. Notably, close associates of Siddiqui, who also serves as the party’s convener, did not attend the meeting at the headquarters. Despite the passage of two days since the confrontation, which reportedly involved a physical altercation and aerial firing, police have yet to register a First Information Report (FIR). Officials said no faction of the party has formally approached law enforcement to lodge a complaint. If neither side files a case, authorities are expected to register one on behalf of the state. Police sources said a draft FIR has already been prepared and is awaiting approval from senior officials before being formally registered. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have carried out raids and detained several MQM-P office-bearers and workers suspected of involvement in the violence. Officials said those currently in custody could face formal arrest once the FIR is registered, as investigations into the incident continue.
