Aryan Khan sparks dating rumours after London outing

Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has once again found himself at the centre of relationship speculation after he was spotted with a mystery woman during a recent outing in London. Photos and videos of the pair quickly went viral on social media, prompting fans to speculate about Aryan’s personal life.
According to reports, the woman accompanying Aryan has been identified by social media users as content creator Vini Takyar. The two were allegedly seen leaving a casino in London together, with footage of the outing circulating widely online. Neither Aryan nor Vini has publicly addressed the dating rumours.
For the outing, both Aryan and Vini opted for coordinated all-black outfits. Aryan kept his look understated, wearing a black T-shirt paired with matching trousers, while Vini also chose an all-black ensemble, adding to the attention surrounding their appearance together.
The speculation gained further momentum after Vini shared photographs from her London trip on Instagram shortly after the videos surfaced online.
She captioned the post simply, “London, ily.”
Fans were also quick to notice that Aryan and Vini follow each other on Instagram, leading many to wonder if there is more than friendship between them. However, neither has confirmed the nature of their relationship, and no official statement has been issued by either side.
This is not the first time Aryan Khan has made headlines over his rumoured love life. In recent years, he was linked to Brazilian model and actress Larissa Bonesi, although neither of them confirmed the reports.
The speculation surrounding Larissa intensified after she appeared in promotional campaigns for D’YAVOL X, Aryan Khan’s luxury streetwear label. She was also seen attending the premiere of Aryan’s directorial debut web series, The Ba****ds of Bollywood, further fuelling rumours at the time.
Despite the constant public interest in his personal life, Aryan has largely stayed away from discussing relationships and maintains a relatively private presence compared to other celebrity children.
Professionally, Aryan has chosen a path different from his father. Instead of pursuing acting, he has focused on filmmaking and entrepreneurship.
He first entered the business world by launching his premium fashion label, D’YAVOL X, which has collaborated with several well-known personalities and has become one of India’s most talked-about luxury streetwear brands.
Aryan later made his directorial debut with The Ba****ds of Bollywood, marking his first major project behind the camera. The series attracted significant attention even before its release, with fans eager to see the filmmaker’s creative vision.
Although Aryan generally avoids media attention and keeps his social media activity limited, his public appearances frequently generate widespread discussion online. Every outing, brand event or interaction is closely followed by fans, making him one of Bollywood’s most-watched celebrity children.
The latest London sighting has once again sparked debate across social media, with many fans speculating about a possible romance between Aryan Khan and Vini Takyar. However, until either of them comments publicly, the reports remain unconfirmed.
For now, Aryan continues to focus on expanding his career as a filmmaker and entrepreneur, while his private life remains a subject of intense curiosity among fans and entertainment followers.

Taiwan president joins wartime evacuation drill

Taiwan has intensified its annual military exercises by rehearsing the wartime evacuation of President Lai Ching-te, testing how the government would continue operating if the island came under attack. During the overnight exercise, President Lai, wearing body armour and a helmet, was transported in an armoured personnel carrier to a secure command centre. Senior government officials also participated in the drill, which focused on maintaining leadership, coordinating emergency responses and ensuring the continuity of government during a national crisis. The evacuation formed part of Taiwan’s 10-day Han Kuang military exercises, the country’s largest annual defence drill. The exercises are designed to strengthen military readiness amid growing tensions with China, which claims Taiwan as its territory and has repeatedly vowed to bring the self-governed island under its control, by force if necessary. The wartime evacuation plan has its roots in the Cold War era and was created to protect Taiwan’s leadership in the event of an invasion. Taiwanese authorities have long expressed concern that China could attempt a “decapitation strike” targeting the president and other senior officials during a conflict. As part of this year’s drills, President Lai also observed coast guard vessels being equipped with missile launchers, highlighting efforts to improve Taiwan’s coastal defence capabilities. Military units have deployed advanced air defence systems and other equipment across key locations as they practise responding to realistic combat scenarios. The exercises also include training for counter-blockade operations, coastal defence, protection of strategic infrastructure and broader civilian support during wartime. Next week, authorities will test emergency communication systems by deliberately reducing mobile internet speeds to evaluate how people would communicate if networks became disrupted during a crisis. Meanwhile, Taiwan’s defence ministry reported continued Chinese military activity near the island, saying multiple Chinese aircraft and naval vessels were detected operating around Taiwan during the exercises. Beijing has not officially commented on the ongoing drills but continues to increase military pressure on the island while rejecting President Lai’s calls for dialogue.

Israeli banks plan to end services for Palestinian banks raising fears of financial crisis

Israeli banks have informed Palestinian financial institutions that they plan to end key banking services within the coming weeks, a move that has sparked concerns about serious economic disruption in the occupied West Bank. Officials on both sides say the decision could affect trade, salaries, and the daily financial operations that rely on cooperation between the two banking systems. The banking relationship allows Palestinian institutions to process transactions in Israeli shekels, the currency widely used in the Palestinian territories. These services are essential for paying for electricity, water, fuel, food imports, and other goods purchased from Israel. They also help transfer wages earned by thousands of Palestinians employed in Israel. According to Palestinian banking officials, five local banks that depend on Israel’s Bank Hapoalim for correspondent banking services have been told those arrangements will end on August 13. Other Palestinian banks that work through Discount Bank have reportedly been informed that their services will stop on September 1 unless a solution is reached. Israel’s Finance Ministry confirmed that both banks had announced plans to discontinue their correspondent banking services. The ministry said the decision reflects increasing legal and financial risks faced by Israeli banks while handling transactions for Palestinian institutions. In a statement, the ministry said it is holding discussions with the banks to find a way to continue these services while protecting Israel’s economic and security interests. Officials are exploring options that would allow financial cooperation to continue under conditions that reduce legal exposure for the banks involved. The banking arrangements have long depended on a government backed legal guarantee that shields Israeli banks from liability related to transactions carried out on behalf of Palestinian financial institutions. This protection is renewed every six months by the Israeli government. However, banking officials say commercial lenders no longer believe the existing guarantees provide enough protection. They argue that the risks of possible money laundering claims or allegations linked to terrorist financing have increased over time. According to one Israeli banking official, the banks believe the responsibility should now be taken over directly by the government instead of remaining with private financial institutions. Discount Bank confirmed that it had informed Israeli authorities of its concerns regarding the growing risks associated with these services. The bank said it has a responsibility to protect its depositors and shareholders while operating within an increasingly complex legal environment. Bank Hapoalim said the issue remains under review and did not provide further details. Economic experts warn that ending these banking links could have serious consequences for the Palestinian economy. Without access to correspondent banking services, businesses and individuals may be forced to rely more heavily on cash transactions. That shift could weaken the formal banking sector, reduce financial transparency, and encourage the growth of an informal economy. The decision could also place additional pressure on the Palestinian Authority, which already faces severe financial difficulties. The Authority depends heavily on local banks to finance public sector salaries and cover budget shortfalls. Financial analysts warn that if banks lose access to essential payment systems, the government’s ability to meet its financial obligations could be significantly weakened. A Palestinian businessman with close connections to the banking sector said the stability of local banks is closely tied to the stability of the Palestinian Authority. He warned that serious disruption to the banking system could have wider political and economic consequences across the West Bank. The latest development comes as the Palestinian Authority continues to struggle with reduced revenues after Israel suspended the transfer of customs and tax funds collected on its behalf. Those funds account for around two thirds of the Authority’s income, leaving its finances under increasing strain. Unless an agreement is reached soon, officials fear the planned banking cutoff could deepen the economic challenges already facing Palestinians in the occupied territory.

Kashyap shared several pictures from the dinner on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the gathering. Alongside the photographs, he joked that although it was supposed to be a family dinner, his T-shirt ended up attracting more attention than anything else. The red T-shirt featured the words “dimagi nakal” prominently, followed by the phrase “been into this since my school days”. Beyond the T-shirt, the dinner pictures also generated excitement because of Kashyap’s meeting with Imtiaz Ali. Sabalenka survives six match points to reach Cincinnati round 3

CINCINNATI: World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka survived a tense challenge from Australia’s Talia Gibson on Sunday, needing six match points to secure a straight-sets victory and book her place in the third round of the Cincinnati Masters. Sabalenka eventually prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) in just under two hours on a windswept Grandstand Court, but the second set turned into a nerve-testing battle. The Belarusian appeared close to victory when she created five match points in the 12th game. Gibson, however, refused to surrender, saving all five before forcing the set into a tiebreak. Sabalenka kept her composure when it mattered most, dominating the tiebreak before sealing the match with a final winner. “I’m super tired; this is crazy weather,” Sabalenka said after the contest, praising Gibson for becoming more aggressive and putting greater pressure on her serve. The victory keeps Sabalenka’s bid for another deep Cincinnati run alive. She won the tournament in 2024 and is hoping to build momentum ahead of the US Open, where she will be chasing her first Grand Slam title of the 2026 season. Sabalenka has already captured three titles this year, although her most recent triumph came in Miami in March. Meanwhile, Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina advanced comfortably with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Taylor Townsend. The world No. 2 arrived in Cincinnati after finishing runner-up to Iga Swiatek in Toronto. French Open champion Mirra Andreeva produced an even more emphatic performance, crushing Oleksandra Oliynykova 6-1, 6-0 while saving all seven break points she faced. Defending champion Swiatek also moved forward, defeating Colombia’s Emiliana Arango 6-3, 6-0. American fourth seed Coco Gauff battled back from a slow start to defeat Liudmila Samsonova 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, winning the final five games. The day ended on a disappointing note for American Ben Shelton, however, as the world No. 6 was eliminated by Portugal’s Jaime Faria.

PTI’s Akmal Khan Bari moves LHC over police hara…

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Akmal Khan Bari has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC), accusing the Punjab Police of political victimisation and unlawful harassment, while seeking constitutional protection for himself and his family against what he alleges are repeated illegal actions by law enforcement authorities. The constitutional petition was filed through senior lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa, with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab and other relevant officials named as respondents. The petition urges the court to intervene, alleging that police actions have exceeded legal limits and infringed upon the petitioner’s constitutional rights. According to the plea, police officials allegedly raided Akmal Khan Bari’s residence at around 10:00 p.m. on July 27. The petitioner claims that officers entered the premises without lawful justification and subjected his family members to intimidation and harassment during the late-night operation. The petition further states that Bari had previously been arrested in what he describes as a fabricated criminal case. It argues that the latest police action is part of a broader pattern of political victimisation aimed at pressuring him because of his affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The petitioner maintains that no criminal allegation currently justifies repeated police raids or coercive measures against him or his family. He contends that such actions violate the fundamental rights guaranteed under Pakistan’s Constitution, including the rights to personal liberty, dignity, privacy, and equal protection before the law. According to the petition, law enforcement agencies are legally bound to operate within the framework of the Constitution and cannot exercise their authority arbitrarily or for political purposes. It alleges that the conduct of the respondents is mala fide, unlawful, and inconsistent with constitutional safeguards designed to protect citizens from abuse of power. Bari has requested the Lahore High Court to issue directions restraining the Punjab Police and other respondents from taking any unlawful coercive action against him. He has also sought specific orders preventing police officials from harassing, intimidating, or interfering with members of his family. Additionally, the petition asks the court to direct all respondents to perform their duties strictly in accordance with the Constitution and applicable laws, ensuring that no individual is subjected to harassment without legal grounds. The Lahore High Court is expected to take up the constitutional petition for preliminary proceedings, where it will determine whether notices should be issued to the respondents and what further legal steps, if any, are warranted. The Punjab Police had not issued an official response to the allegations at the time this report was filed.

Pentagon signs framework agreement with lockheed M…

The United States Department of Defense (Pentagon) has entered into a framework agreement with leading American defense contractors Lockheed Martinand Northrop Grumman to expand the production capacity of critical components used in missile defense systems. The agreement is part of the U.S. government’s broader effort to strengthen its defense industrial base and ensure that the military maintains sufficient stocks of advanced missile interception systems amid rising global security challenges. According to Arab media reports, the Pentagon has not disclosed the financial value of the framework agreement. While details regarding the total cost and production timeline remain confidential, officials have indicated that the initiative is intended to significantly increase manufacturing capabilities for components used in missile interceptor systems. The agreement comes at a time when the United States is reassessing its defense production capacity in response to ongoing international conflicts and growing demand for advanced military equipment. Reports suggest that the prolonged wars involving Iran-related regional tensions and the conflict in Ukraine have placed considerable pressure on U.S. weapons and missile inventories. As a result, the Pentagon has been working to replenish depleted stockpiles while ensuring that American forces remain prepared for future security challenges. Missile defense systems play a crucial role in protecting military installations, strategic assets, and civilian populations from incoming missile threats. These systems rely on highly sophisticated interceptor missiles and advanced technologies capable of detecting, tracking, and destroying hostile missiles before they reach their intended targets. Increasing production of the key components used in these systems is expected to improve the United States’ ability to respond quickly to evolving security threats and maintain a reliable supply of defensive capabilities. Defense analysts have noted that expanding manufacturing capacity is becoming increasingly important as global geopolitical tensions continue to rise. The ongoing war in Ukraine has resulted in significant military assistance from the United States and its allies, including the transfer of advanced missile defense equipment and interceptor missiles. At the same time, heightened tensions in the Middle East have increased the demand for missile defense systems capable of countering a wide range of aerial threats. The latest framework agreement follows another major defense contract announced just last week. The U.S. Army awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $58.6 billion for the production of Patriot interceptor missiles, one of the world’s most widely used air and missile defense systems. The Patriot system is designed to intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and hostile aircraft, making it a critical component of the United States’ missile defense network as well as that of several allied nations. The new agreement with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman is expected to complement that large Patriot missile contract by ensuring that manufacturers have the capacity to produce the essential components needed for future missile defense programs. By investing in increased production capabilities, the Pentagon aims to strengthen supply chains, reduce manufacturing bottlenecks, and accelerate the delivery of critical defense equipment. Although the Pentagon has not revealed the financial details of the framework agreement, the move underscores Washington’s continued commitment to enhancing national security and maintaining military readiness. As global conflicts and regional tensions persist, expanding defense production is expected to remain a top priority for the U.S. Department of Defense in the years ahead.
