Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott welcome baby girl together

Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott have entered an exciting new chapter as parents, welcoming their first child together.

The couple has reportedly welcomed a baby girl, marking a major milestone in their relationship. The happy news came to light after Plaza was spotted in New York City on Sunday, August 9, carrying her newborn in a baby sling.

The actress was seen in a relaxed casual look as she stepped out wearing a black tank top, jeans and her hair pulled into a high ponytail. She appeared to be carrying the newborn after attending Christopher Abbott’s final performance in the Broadway production Death of a Salesman.

According to reports, Plaza gave birth to the couple’s daughter during the final week of July 2026. The arrival comes just months after the couple publicly confirmed that they were expecting their first child.

Plaza’s pregnancy was officially revealed in April, when her representative confirmed the news. At the time, an insider described the pregnancy as a “beautiful surprise” following an emotional year for the actress and said that Plaza and Abbott felt extremely blessed about starting a family together.

The couple later made their red carpet debut as an expecting pair at the 2026 Tony Awards on June 7. The event, held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, gave fans their first major public glimpse of Plaza’s growing baby bump.

Although Plaza and Abbott have kept much of their relationship away from the spotlight, their romance reportedly began after years of professional connections. The two previously worked together on the 2020 film Black Bear and later reunited for the 2023 Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.

  1. Their relationship reportedly became public in 2025, with the pair gradually stepping out together before announcing their pregnancy the following year.

For Plaza, the birth of her daughter represents an important new beginning after a difficult period in her personal life. Before her relationship with Abbott, the Parks and Recreation star was married to filmmaker Jeff Baena. The former couple separated in 2024 after several years together. Baena died in 2025.

Since then, Plaza has largely maintained a private approach to her personal life while continuing to focus on her acting career.

Abbott, meanwhile, has remained busy with his professional commitments, including his Broadway role in Death of a Salesman. His final performance in the production appears to have coincided with a particularly memorable moment for the couple, as Plaza was photographed carrying their newborn shortly afterward.

The arrival of their baby girl adds another special milestone to Plaza and Abbott’s evolving relationship. While neither star has publicly shared extensive details about their daughter, fans are celebrating the couple’s reported new journey into parenthood.

Gigi Hadid breaks silence after secret wedding rumours

Gigi Hadid has made a fresh social media appearance after recently grabbing attention with a wedding ring during a public outing with her boyfriend, Bradley Cooper. The supermodel, who was previously in a relationship with singer Zayn Malik, returned to Instagram on Sunday, August 9, sharing a series of photos that gave fans a glimpse into her summer days with her daughter, Khai. The update came just days after Gigi and Bradley fueled speculation that they may have secretly tied the knot. The 31-year-old model appeared to be enjoying a relaxed summer getaway with family and friends. Among the first pictures she shared was a sweet beach moment featuring Gigi alongside her younger sister, Bella Hadid. Both sisters looked effortlessly stylish as they posed together while enjoying the sunny surroundings. Another photo showed Gigi spending time with a close friend on a yacht, while their daughters were seen wearing matching swimsuits. The collection of images also captured several warm mother-daughter moments, highlighting how the model has been making the most of her summer break with Khai. Gigi’s post quickly attracted significant attention from her millions of followers. While many fans praised the beautiful summer snapshots, others could not help but notice how much Khai has grown. Several followers took to the comments section to express their surprise at seeing the little girl looking noticeably older. Fans described Khai as “so big” and shared their amazement at how quickly she appears to be growing up. The Instagram update also gave Gigi an opportunity to shift the focus away from the recent wedding speculation and toward her personal life and time with her daughter. Rumours surrounding Gigi and Bradley intensified earlier this month when the couple were spotted together in Paris. On Monday, August 3, the pair were photographed walking hand in hand through the French capital, with their jewellery immediately catching the attention of fans. Both appeared to be wearing rings on their hands, leading to widespread speculation that they may have secretly exchanged wedding vows. However, neither Gigi nor Bradley has publicly confirmed that they are married. The couple, who have reportedly been romantically linked since 2023, have generally kept their relationship away from the spotlight. Their rare public appearances have therefore continued to attract considerable attention. Gigi’s ring also became a major talking point among fans. The jewellery reportedly features 33 quarter-carat diamonds set alongside 18-karat yellow and white gold in a Grosgrain design. The ring has been reported to cost around $6,450. Despite the growing speculation, Gigi has not addressed the marriage rumours directly. Instead, her latest Instagram post focused on her summer memories, family and daughter. For now, fans will have to wait for Gigi or Bradley to confirm whether the rings were simply jewellery or a sign of a secret wedding.

Shahood Alvi sparks controversy with candid marriage remarks

Pakistani television actor and director Shahood Alvi has once again found himself at the centre of social media discussions following his candid remarks about marriage, relationships and the role of women in maintaining a healthy relationship. Shahood began his showbiz career at Pakistan Television as a boom operator alongside his maternal uncle, Iqbal Ansari. He later moved into acting and gradually established himself as a recognised performer through his work in several popular television dramas. The actor is married to Saima Shahood, and the couple has three daughters, Areeba, Sajal and Arija, all of whom are now married. Shahood frequently appears on morning shows, particularly programmes that feature discussions about marriage, relationships and family life. During a recent television appearance alongside actresses Laila Zuberi and Fariha Awan, Shahood shared his views on why some husbands may lose interest in their wives. His comments, however, quickly attracted attention and divided opinions online. Discussing the possible reasons behind a decline in a husband’s interest, Shahood suggested that women who spend most of their time at home may sometimes carry the smell of ingredients such as ginger and garlic from cooking. He contrasted this with men working in offices, where they may encounter women wearing perfumes. He questioned why a husband would remain attracted if his wife smelled of cooking ingredients, while women in offices might be dressed up and wearing fragrance. The actor also made another controversial remark when the discussion turned towards seeking professional help for marital problems. When Fariha Awan suggested therapy as an option for couples facing difficulties, Shahood jokingly questioned what would happen if a therapist ran away with someone’s wife. He repeated the warning while referring to psychiatrists, describing it as a humorous concern. Shahood further said that spending excessive amounts of time on a mobile phone could be a negative sign in a marriage. He suggested that women should also make an effort to regain their husbands’ attention by preparing food they enjoy and getting ready before their husbands return home. Laila Zuberi agreed that making an effort to look presentable for one’s spouse has traditionally been viewed positively. Recalling her childhood, she said she remembered her mother applying lipstick before her father returned home. Fariha Awan also supported the idea that women could make additional efforts to present themselves well before their husbands came home. Shahood went on to discuss his own marriage, saying he had tried to teach his wife several practical tasks, including paying bills, shopping for groceries and driving. However, he said jokingly that she never learned these skills and referred to her humorously as a “stubborn one.” He also recalled advice from actress Bushra Ansari, who had discouraged his wife from learning how to drive. According to Shahood, Bushra believed that once housewives learned to drive, their responsibilities could increase because they might then be expected to take children to school and bring them back. Following the television appearance, Shahood’s comments have sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users criticised his remarks as outdated or insensitive, others viewed them as part of the informal and humorous nature of morning-show conversations. Despite the debate, Shahood’s comments have once again placed discussions surrounding marriage, expectations from spouses and gender roles in the spotlight.

Sharmila Faruqui alleges AJK poll rigging

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharmila Faruqui has alleged that her party believes in the power of the vote, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) relies on other means to secure political success. Speaking during a television programme on Monday, Faruqui claimed that an atmosphere of fear and intimidation was created in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), giving the impression that the election mandate had already been secured. She argued that announcements of development initiatives, including Green Bus projects, before polling day amounted to pre-poll rigging. According to her, even if the PML-N succeeds in forming a government in AJK with the current mandate, it will struggle to effectively serve the people. Faruqui also questioned the handling of polling in constituencies where the PPP traditionally enjoys strong public support. She alleged that polling staff arrived late in several such areas, raising concerns about the transparency of the electoral process. Referring to the killing of a PPP worker, she claimed that the incident was initially described as resulting from either a push or a heart attack, despite the party maintaining that the worker had been deliberately targeted. The PPP leader further said the AJK elections should not be viewed through the political lens of Lahore or Karachi, as the region has its own unique issues and priorities. She maintained that the people of Azad Kashmir have a longstanding bond with the PPP and asserted that no other political party enjoys the same level of public support in the region. The PML-N has not publicly responded to Faruqui’s allegations. Meanwhile, results from the second phase of the AJK elections continue to emerge, with the PML-N maintaining a clear lead according to unofficial results.
