  • Lower protein may boost longevity

Protein rich foods such as cereals coffee water and many other products have become increasingly popular. However a new study suggests that for many people eating less protein instead of more may actually be better for overall health and could even help people live longer. The review published on July 31 in the journal Cell Press Blue examined more than 350 scientific studies exploring the connection between lower protein intake and healthy aging. Researchers found that reducing protein intake may improve metabolism help cells respond better to nutrients lower cell damage and support normal cell function. Together these effects may promote better health and a longer lifespan. The study’s lead author Dudley Lamming said that protein is important for people who exercise regularly because it helps build muscle and improves workout results. However he added that most people are not very physically active which means they may be eating more protein than their bodies actually need. In some cases this could have negative effects on health. Experts also noted that the right amount of protein is different for everyone.  It depends on factors such as age overall health physical activity and lifestyle. They recommend following a balanced diet and getting advice from a healthcare professional before making major changes to protein intake.

  • New image reveal Sun’s surface in amazing detail

Looking directly at the Sun is impossible and capturing a clear image of it is even more difficult. However, new images of the star at the center of our solar system have been released showing its surface in extraordinary detail. The images were captured by the Inouye Solar Telescope located in the US state of Hawaii. It is considered the world’s most powerful solar telescope and is capable of observing the Sun in unprecedented detail. The telescope has captured images of the Sun before but these new photographs provide the most detailed views yet of the surface of our solar system’s star. A unique wing-like pattern can be seen across the Sun’s surface in the images. According to scientists, this pattern is associated with the Sun’s magnetic field which is moving in a wave-like manner due to hot gases. Closer look at Sun’s surface The images reveal processes occurring on the Sun’s surface that may help explain a decades-old mystery: why the Sun’s outer atmosphere known as the corona is millions of times hotter than its visible surface. Experts say these are the highest-resolution images of the Sun’s surface ever captured. In earlier observations, the telescope detected sand-like structures on the Sun’s surface making it appear as though grains of sand were being viewed under a microscope. Each of these structures was roughly the size of France in terms of area but the new images reveal much greater detail. The new photographs show a distinctive pattern on the Sun’s surface associated with rapidly moving plasma. Scientists have identified this pattern as Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities (KHIs). Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities have been observed on Earth during the formation of patterns in lakes, oceans and clouds. They have also been detected on Jupiter and Saturn but their presence on the Sun had not previously been confirmed. Why Sun’s magnetic activity matters? Solar activity particularly changes in the Sun’s magnetic fields can affect power grids, satellites, GPS positioning and global communications on Earth. These magnetic fields are generated by the Sun’s extremely hot plasma but scientists have not yet fully understood how they work. Experts know that these magnetic fields can trigger sudden releases of enormous amounts of heat but exactly why this happens remains unclear. The new images, however, provide clues that could help explain why the Sun’s visible surface has a temperature of around 6,000°C while its outer atmosphere can reach temperatures of millions of degrees Celsius.

Other brands are watching closely Spanish bridal brand Pronovias has also indicated that it is watching Swift’s dress for inspiration.  However the company plans to focus on broader fashion trends rather than directly copying her outfit. Sharon Sever, creative director at designer Galia Lahav, said that if Swift chooses an unusual color fabric or veil it could become a new trend in bridal fashion. New York design director Lisa Ponteroni also pointed out that celebrity photos can have a strong influence on the fashion industry. The Justin Alexander Group is also following the trend and may include some of Swift’s possible dress features in future designs. The company may simply tell customers when it has dresses with features similar to those seen in Swift’s wedding look. Legal issues also matter There is also a legal side to celebrity inspired fashion. Legal experts say that copying the general cut or shape of a dress is not necessarily illegal.  However a company could face legal trouble if it falsely uses Taylor Swift’s or Dior’s name to mislead customers. For this reason most brands are focusing on the fashion ideas rather than using Swift’s name to market their products. Could Swift Start a new bridal trend? Taylor Swift’s wedding dress has become important not only to her fans but also to the bridal fashion industry. If more photos reveal a unique color fabric shape, or design those details could inspire thousands of brides. • Not all green foods are healthy

Vegetables and fruits are generally considered an important part of a healthy diet.  Health experts also recommend including them in a balanced meal. However not everything that is green is automatically good for everyone. Some raw undercooked artificial or  rich green foods may cause health problems in  certain people. People with weak immune systems may be more sensitive to some foods and could experience allergies food reactions or other health problems. Green potatoes some green seafood products and foods with artificial green coloring are examples that may require extra care. Some people can also develop an allergy or intolerance to certain green foods. For example spinach may cause skin rashes or other allergic symptoms in sensitive individuals. In rare and serious cases a food allergy can lead to a dangerous reaction called anaphylaxis. Anyone who notices allergy symptoms after eating a particular food should seek medical advice. People with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) may also need to be careful with certain green vegetables.  Foods such as cabbage broccoli and Brussels sprouts can cause gas bloating stomach discomfort and pain in some people. People with kidney problems should also pay attention to their food choices. Spinach and Swiss chard contain high amounts of potassium. Eating too much of these foods may be risky for people with advanced kidney disease because their kidneys may have difficulty removing extra potassium from the body. This can lead to an unhealthy electrolyte balance. Eating too much of any food can cause problems and green foods are no exception. Large amounts of raw vegetables may cause bloating, constipation stomach pain or digestive discomfort in some people. In certain cases excessive intake of particular foods may also increase the risk of kidney stones electrolyte problems low blood sugar or allergic reactions. Some green fruits and vegetables may also cause digestive problems when eaten raw.  For example raw bananas and papaya may cause gas or stomach discomfort in some people. People who take warfarin a blood thinning medicine also known by the brand name Coumadin should talk to their doctor about eating large amounts of green leafy vegetables. These vegetables are often high in vitamin K, which can affect how warfarin works. The important thing is usually to keep vitamin K intake consistent rather than suddenly changing the amount. Spinach, Swiss chard and beetroot are also high in oxalates.  For some people who are prone to kidney stones, eating large amounts of these foods may increase the chance of developing stones again. Raw or lightly cooked green vegetables can provide many nutrients but they can sometimes be difficult to digest.  Vegetables such as cabbage broccoli and Brussels sprouts contain fiber that may cause digestive discomfort in some people especially when eaten in large amounts. Green potatoes are another important exception. When a potato turns green it may contain higher levels of a natural chemical called solanine.  Eating a large amount of solanine can cause nausea, vomiting, and in severe cases nervous system problems. Green potatoes should therefore be handled with care. Green tea is also not completely harmless in every situation. Poor quality green tea may contain unwanted impurities or low quality ingredients. Drinking very strong or very hot green tea may cause stomach discomfort in some people. Green tea also contains caffeine and too much caffeine can lead to nervousness shaking sleep problems or other side effects. Artificially green foods are not necessarily healthy either. Green colored candies sweet drinks and other processed foods may contain large amounts of sugar and provide little nutritional value.  Eating these foods regularly can contribute to tooth damage high blood sugar and other health problems. The main point is that green color alone does not make a food healthy.  The type of food the amount eaten how it is prepared and a person’s health condition all matter. People with food allergies, IBS, kidney problems or those taking certain medicines should be especially careful and seek medical advice when needed.

  • Healthy weight may protect male fertility study

Male infertility is becoming a growing health concern around the world and new research suggests that excess body fat may be one of the reasons behind the rising number of cases. A study from Aarhus University found that higher levels of body fat can negatively affect male reproductive health and reduce fertility. The researchers followed 1,058 young men, who were about 18 years and 9 months old when the study began. They measured body fat body weight and muscle mass to understand how body composition affects fertility. According to the researchers a healthy body fat percentage for men is generally between 8% and 19%, while 20% or higher is considered elevated. The study found that men with higher body fat had on average a 23% lower sperm count than those with healthier body fat levels. The researchers also found that excess body fat may disrupt hormones that play an important role in sperm production and overall reproductive health. Hormonal changes caused by obesity can reduce both sperm  quality and fertility. Experts say maintaining a healthy weight through regular exercise a balanced diet enough sleep and stress management can support both overall health and reproductive health. Avoiding smoking limiting alcohol and managing long term medical conditions may also help improve fertility. The findings were published in the journal Human Reproduction. The study supports earlier findings from the World Health Organization, which reported in 2023 that about 17.5% of adults worldwide experience infertility at some point in their lives. The WHO also noted that infertility affects people in high middle and low income countries making it a global public health challenge. Researchers say that while infertility can have many causes keeping body fat at a healthy level may be an important step in protecting male fertility and improving reproductive health.

  • Whitening creams may damage your skin

Many people use skin whitening creams and bleaching products to make their skin look lighter and brighter. While these products may change skin tone for a short time experts say they can cause serious skin problems if used for a long period. In Pakistan and many other Asian countries skin lightening creams are widely used. Many people buy and use these products without first talking to a dermatologist. According to skin experts many whitening creams contain strong chemicals and steroids. These ingredients can make the skin appear lighter for a while but they may also damage the skin over time and lead to long lasting problems. One common side effect is acne. Experts say corticosteroids found in some creams can make the skin look smooth at first but continued use may trigger pimples. These pimples can later leave permanent dark marks or scars. This problem can affect both men and women. Some whitening creams also contain hydroquinone. Research suggests that using hydroquinone for a long time may cause a condition called exogenous ochronosis. This condition leads to blue or dark patches on the skin especially in people with sensitive skin. These marks can be difficult to hide even with makeup. Another possible risk is dermatitis a skin condition that causes irritation and inflammation. It may lead to redness itching, swelling, dry skin, rashes blisters and in severe cases painful sores. Dermatologists advise stopping the use of any whitening cream if you notice redness itching swelling unusual spots or other skin changes. They recommend seeking advice from a qualified skin specialist instead of relying on products that promise quick results. Protecting your skin and following professional medical advice is a safer and healthier choice.
