Fishing Boat Sinks Near Jomtien Ahead of Strong Storm; All Four Aboard Rescued Safely

Sattahip/Chonburi, Thailand – A fishing boat sank near Koh Khram off the coast of Jomtien on the evening of July 24th, 2026, leaving its four occupants adrift in the sea before a rapid rescue operation brought them to safety.

Authorities received the alert at approximately 5:00 p.m. that the vessel, named Ninan, had suffered an accident and sunk in the waters around the island. The four people on board were reported floating in the open sea. Water rescue teams from Sawang Rojana immediately began mobilizing resources to respond. It is believed strong winds in advance of a major storm were a contributing factor.

By 6:00 p.m., a progress update confirmed that a fast rescue boat from the Sawang Rojana water rescue unit, working together with a team from Pattaya, had reached the scene and successfully rescued all four individuals. All were reported safe.

The incident was reported by the water rescue team of the Sawang Rojana Satthahip unit.
