Hua Hin holds Run Khan Do III event

Runners turned out in large numbers for the Run Khan Do III event at Suan Son Pradipat Beach on Thursday evening, as Hua Hin hosted the third round of the province-wide health and tourism campaign.

Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Sitthichai Sawatseen presided over the opening ceremony on April 30 at the beach’s camping ground. The event, also known in Thai as “Wing Kan Du 3”, brought together local officials, runners and members of the public for an evening of exercise and community activities.

Among those attending were Hua Hin District Chief Supachai Krutdam, Pran Buri District Chief Ram Singhasophit, Hua Hin City Municipality Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul and municipal executives, Hua Hin/Cha-am Tourism Business Association president Kitipong Siriphetkasem, heads of government agencies, civil servants and representatives from local administrative organisations.

Before the run began, officials held a ceremony to hand over the symbolic “Healthy Province” flag and the “Wing Kan Du 3” flag. The Hua Hin District Chief presented the flags to Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district, which will host the next event in the series on May 6.

Participants also joined a beach clean-up activity aimed at raising awareness of environmental protection, as well as a crab release activity intended to support the local marine environment.

Run Khan Do III supports health and tourism

The Run Khan Do III series is being held across Prachuap Khiri Khan to encourage people to exercise as part of the province’s lifestyle medicine and Wellness City policy.

Provincial officials said the campaign is also intended to promote local tourist attractions and support community-level economic activity in each district where events are held.

The series also aims to strengthen cooperation among residents, public agencies, local organisations and community groups across the province. Previous events in the programme have attracted tens of thousands of participants.

This year’s programme includes health walks and runs, trail running and a cycling event in honour of His Majesty the King. A total of 12 events are being held across every district in Prachuap Khiri Khan from March to July 2026.
