Megan Moroney shares emotional note after cutting Denver show short due to illness

Megan Moroney had to walk off stage midway through her Denver concert on Tuesday after falling ill just a few songs into the performance. The singer apologized to the crowd before leaving, promising fans she’d make it up to them, though the exact cause of her illness has not been shared.

Ball Arena confirmed the situation shortly after, posting a statement saying Moroney was unable to continue the show due to illness and that the performance would be ending early. The venue added that further updates would follow once available. Fans began exiting the downtown arena just after 9 p.m. as word spread that the concert wouldn’t resume.

Moroney later addressed the situation directly through an emotional Instagram Story, calling it one of the toughest calls she has ever had to make. She wrote that stopping the show was something she never wanted to do, and apologized again for cutting the night short.

The “No Caller ID” singer explained that she holds herself to a standard of always giving fans a full, quality performance, and said she knew she was not in a state to deliver that on stage that night. Rather than push through, she chose to stop the show entirely.

Moroney also confirmed a new date for the Denver show, telling fans it is now rescheduled for August 27. She noted that anyone holding tickets from Tuesday’s show would have them automatically honored for the rescheduled date, while those unable to attend the new show could request a refund from wherever they originally purchased their tickets.

She closed her message with another round of apologies, saying this was the first time she has ever had to cancel a show mid-performance and expressing how sorry she was for the disruption.

The Denver stop was part of Moroney’s ongoing Cloud 9 Tour, which continues later this week with shows in Portland, Oregon on Saturday and Seattle on Sunday. Notably, Tuesday’s cancelled performance happened the same night as another major concert in the Denver area, with Australian rock band AC/DC performing at Empower Field at Mile High, making it a especially busy night for live music fans in the city.

He said Independence Day was not merely a celebration of freedom but also a reminder of the determination and struggle that led to the creation of Pakistan. He paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives and resources for the country’s independence, saying their sacrifices should inspire the nation to work for Pakistan’s development and prosperity. The senior judge stressed that every citizen has a responsibility to play a constructive role in strengthening the country and advancing the ideals envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam.

    Monsoon rains, floods disrupt life across Pakistan

    Monsoon rains and flooding have disrupted daily life in several parts of the country, with rising water levels and overflowing streams causing damage and cutting off road links. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has also released rainfall figures for Karachi, showing that several parts of the city received rain overnight. In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain in Chilas and surrounding areas has caused streams and waterways to swell, raising concerns about further disruption. The Astore Valley Road has remained closed for the past six days, creating shortages of essential food and other supplies in affected areas. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in parts of Sindh and southern Punjab today. Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious as further rainfall could worsen the flooding situation.

    Court rejects Gohar’s FIR plea against PM

    A district and sessions court in Islamabad has dismissed a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who had sought the registration of a criminal case against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and several other senior government officials over the events of the November 26 protest. The court issued a detailed 17-page written judgment, outlining the reasons for rejecting the application. The verdict was authored by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka, who concluded that the petitioner had failed to provide sufficient evidence to justify the registration of a first information report (FIR). According to the judgment, Barrister Gohar was given multiple opportunities to appear before the court and record his statement as an eyewitness. However, the court noted that he did not record his testimony despite repeated chances. The ruling further stated that the petitioner neither presented eyewitnesses nor submitted legally admissible evidence in support of his allegations. The court observed that the application relied mainly on claims without providing documentary or forensic material required to initiate criminal proceedings. The petition alleged that 12 people lost their lives and more than 38 PTI supporters were injured during the November 26 protest. However, the court noted that no post-mortem reports, death certificates, medical records, digital videos, photographs or other primary evidence were produced to verify the claims. The judgment emphasized that criminal action cannot be initiated against senior public officeholders solely on the basis of verbal allegations. It said there must be credible and legally admissible evidence before the court can direct the registration of an FIR against high-ranking officials. Among those named in the petition were Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Ali Nasir, DIG Operations Ali Raza, SSP Operations Zeeshan Haider and other officials. The court also observed that if the petitioner believed that government institutions were not cooperating in the investigation, he had legal options available under Pakistani law. These included approaching the courts for further investigative measures, including exhumation where legally justified. The judgment noted that no such legal remedies were pursued.
