Police Detain Two Suspects Possibly Linked to Missing Russian Siblings and Buried Motorcycle Near Pattaya
CHONBURI, Thailand
Tourism and immigration police on Thursday detained two suspects believed to have helped dig a pit to bury the dismantled remains of a motorcycle belonging to a pair of missing Russian siblings, while also assisting two other men in escaping a large-scale police cordon.
The case involves Miss Diana Nazimova, 22, and her brother Mr. Roman Nazimova, 17, whose black-and-grey Honda ADV 150 motorcycle (licence plate 4กษ 6379 Chonburi) disappeared along with them in the early hours of 26 July. The motorcycle was later found disassembled and buried in the grounds of an old cemetery at Thung Luang, near the Chak Taeng junction roughly 200 metres from the Najomtien–Map Ta Phut Motorway in Moo 9.
Hundreds of officers and local residents have been conducting extensive ground searches with the assistance of sniffer dogs, but no sign of the siblings has yet been found.
At 1:06 p.m. on 30 July 2026, a joint team including Pol. Lt. Col. Prapda Suksunthree of Pattaya Police Station, Pol. Lt. Col. Thongthai Pairor of the Investigation Subdivision of Immigration Bureau 3, Pol. Sub. Lt. Atsada Charusombat, Pol. Sub. Lt. Apisit Phuengyaem of the Tourist Police Division, and officers from Pattaya Tourism Investigation and Chonburi Immigration, raided the residences of two men known as Suea Hoy (“Hungry Tiger”) and Phang.
The pair are suspected of helping two other men, known as Pong and Thong, break through a cordon of more than 200 officers late the previous night. The escapees allegedly boarded a covered three-wheeled saleng (utility vehicle) that was draped with canvas to conceal them.
Acting on information from local residents who reported seeing the suspects digging, officers first located the men’s temporary forest shelter in the Map Fak Thong area. Suea Hoy was not present, but was later stopped while riding a motorcycle with a sidecar away from his mother’s house. He was invited for questioning and then led officers to Phang’s residence, where the second man was also taken in for questioning.
Both men initially denied any knowledge of the incident or of Pong and Thong. Police are not accepting the denials at face value and are holding Suea Hoy and Phang for intensive questioning at Huai Yai Police Station. Investigators are seeking to establish any links between the pair, the two men who fled the cordon, the burial of the motorcycle, and the disappearance of the Russian brother and sister.
The search for Diana and Roman Nazimova continues.
