PTI rift deepens as Salman Akram Raja, Mashal Yous…

ISLAMABAD: Differences within the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) have intensified as senior party figures Salman Akram Raja and Mashal Yousafzai exchanged allegations over party affairs and accusations related to the alleged sale of tickets.

Salman Akram Raja criticised those who, according to him, were unable to pursue the matter through legal channels and had instead resorted to what he described as baseless allegations against Mashal Yousafzai over ticket-selling claims.

Raja also said he did not know who had nominated Yousafzai as a senator, maintaining that the decision had been made on the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan. He added that he did not have the authority to remove her from the Senate.

In response, Mashal Yousafzai alleged that Raja had made his recent statements after apologising to the PTI founder. She challenged the party leadership to take action against Raja if it had the authority to remove him from the party.

The dispute has also drawn comments from PTI leader Shandana Gulzar, who questioned Raja’s remarks concerning money. She raised questions over the whereabouts of millions of rupees allegedly received from the United States and said that those responsible would face serious consequences if the matter was investigated.

The exchange has added to growing tensions within the opposition party, with allegations and counter-allegations emerging as its leadership continues to grapple with internal disagreements.

The court also issued directions for the situation if the government fails to reach a decision within the given period. Child’s refusal to buckle up leads to flight cancellation in Canada

A Porter Airlines flight from Victoria to Toronto was cancelled after a young child refused to sit in the assigned seat and fasten the seat belt. The incident happened on flight PD444 at Victoria International Airport in British Columbia. The aircraft had already left the terminal. It was preparing for takeoff when crew members noticed the child standing on the seat. Flight attendants tried to resolve the situation. The child’s parents also attempted to convince the youngster to sit down. However, the child continued to resist. The crew could not proceed with the flight while the safety issue remained unresolved. Aviation safety rules require passengers to remain seated and use seat belts when instructed. The aircraft therefore had to return to the terminal. The family was removed from the plane. Their baggage also had to be taken off the aircraft. Airport and airline staff then had to complete the required travel and security procedures. The process took considerable time. The procedures continued beyond 12:30am. Victoria International Airport closes its main runway at 12:30am every night. Because the runway had already closed, the aircraft could not take off again that night. The cancellation caused further inconvenience for the other passengers. They were forced to spend the night in Victoria. Porter Airlines apologised to the affected passengers for the disruption. The airline arranged alternative flights for them the following day. The incident highlights how even a seemingly minor safety issue can cause major delays when an aircraft is preparing for departure. Airlines are required to ensure that all passengers follow safety instructions before takeoff

Saeed Ghani says ethnic voting trend Is fading in …

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Saeed Ghani has said that the trend of securing votes in Karachi primarily on the basis of ethnicity is gradually losing its influence. Addressing a PPP public gathering in Union Council 8 of Korangi, Ghani said voters were increasingly making political choices based on a party’s performance, ideology and vision rather than ethnic identity. He claimed that the PPP government had carried out extensive development work in District Central and Korangi, arguing that these projects had strengthened the party’s connection with residents and addressed long-standing civic needs. Ghani said Karachi’s political landscape was changing as people became more focused on issues that directly affected their daily lives. According to him, voters now paid greater attention to development, public services and the performance of political representatives when deciding which party to support. The PPP leader maintained that political parties could no longer rely solely on traditional ethnic or linguistic loyalties to win elections. He said improved performance and engagement with local communities would play a more important role in shaping voters’ decisions in the future. Ghani also highlighted the importance of development initiatives in strengthening public confidence, saying continued work in areas such as infrastructure and civic facilities could help political parties earn lasting support from Karachi’s residents.
