Mystery deepens over 2 girls’ deaths in Lahore p…

LAHORE: The deaths of two young women in police custody have raised fresh questions after their autopsy reports revealed black spots on their lungs and blood clots in their hearts, while failing to find visible signs of physical assault or torture.

The two women, identified as Amina and Anmol, died while in the custody of Lahore’s Township police. According to sources, their post-mortem examinations found no external injuries or marks suggesting physical violence. Samples of their blood and internal organs have now been sent for histopathological testing, which is expected to help establish the final cause of death.

The autopsies were conducted two days after the deaths and the reports were finalised after the medical board reached a consensus. Doctors found the women’s livers, kidneys and stomachs to be in normal condition, while black spots were observed on both sets of lungs and clots were detected in their hearts.

The findings have not yet provided a definitive explanation for the deaths. Authorities are waiting for the histopathology results before determining the final cause.

The families of the deceased have meanwhile called for an independent and transparent investigation. Tajamul Hussain, the father of one of the women, rejected the police version that the deaths were linked to a medical condition. He questioned how both women could have suffered fatal heart problems while in custody and alleged that they were killed.

Police have denied the allegations. SSP Investigation Naveed Ahmed said the women had previous criminal records and were arrested after a passerby contacted Police Emergency 15 and reported that they had allegedly snatched an earring.

The officer also claimed that the women used drugs but firmly rejected allegations that they were tortured or mistreated during their detention.

With the histopathology reports still awaited, the investigation is expected to focus on the women’s medical condition, their treatment while in custody and the circumstances leading up to their deaths.

The military leadership also said Iran would continue its struggle to protect what it called its legitimate rights. It said Tehran would not abandon its position until the opposing side surrendered. The Iranian Armed Forces further accused the United States of continuing its aggression to expand its influence and establish dominance in the region. Iranian officials have repeatedly presented the conflict as a struggle against foreign aggression. They have also stressed the importance of national unity and resistance in facing military and political pressure.

    Crude oil spills onto road after pipeline leak in …

    KARACHI: An underground oil pipeline developed a leak on Khayaban-e-Sehar, Street 13, in Karachi’s Defence area, causing crude oil to spill onto the road. According to police, the leakage resulted in crude oil spreading across the affected section of the road. The road has been closed to traffic as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and facilitate repair work. A DHA vigilance team reached the site after being informed about the incident. The relevant authorities were also alerted and teams were deployed to assess the situation. Police said the pipeline is quite old and runs beneath the middle of the road. The National Refinery stopped the supply through the affected line after the leakage was reported and immediately began repair work. Officials are currently working to repair the damaged pipeline and control the oil leakage. Traffic restrictions will remain in place until the repair work is completed and the affected road is considered safe for motorists and pedestrians. No casualties or injuries have been reported in connection with the incident so far.

The investigation follows a series of Iranian drone attacks that targeted sensitive US intelligence locations in the region. At least two CIA facilities were reportedly hit in March. One of the sites was located inside the US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, while another was in eastern Iraq. Officials familiar with the matter said additional CIA locations may also have been attacked, although they declined to reveal further details because of security concerns. Western intelligence officials have also reviewed reports suggesting that Russia may have assisted Iran in selecting the targets. One intelligence assessment reportedly concluded that Russia likely contributed to identifying regional CIA facilities, although officials stressed that the findings remain under review and have not been publicly confirmed. According to officials briefed on intelligence reports, the attack on the US Embassy compound in Riyadh involved two upgraded versions of Iran’s Shahed drones. They said one drone created an opening in the embassy’s outer structure while the second entered through the damaged area before exploding inside. No casualties were reported, but the operation demonstrated a level of accuracy that surprised intelligence analysts. The investigation comes as tensions between the United States and Iran remain high following months of military exchanges across the Middle East. American officials are also examining recent Iranian strikes on a US military base in Jordan where ballistic missiles killed two American soldiers. Those attacks have intensified concerns that Iran may be receiving more advanced military support from Russia. Analysts believe Russia has spent years helping Iran improve its drone capabilities. Intelligence sources say Moscow has assisted Tehran in increasing the range and precision of its Shahed drones through technical upgrades. Reports also suggest Russia supplied Iran with the Kometa M satellite navigation system, which is believed to provide greater accuracy and stronger resistance to electronic interference than Iran’s previous guidance systems. Russia has denied supplying the technology and dismissed earlier reports on the matter. The White House referred questions about the investigation to the CIA, which declined to comment. Iran’s mission to the United Nations, the Russian Defense Ministry, and Saudi authorities also did not respond to requests for statements. The exact number and locations of the targeted CIA facilities remain classified. Intelligence sources said more than one site but fewer than a dozen were struck during the attacks. Overseas CIA operations often include embassy based stations as well as secure facilities used for surveillance, logistics, intelligence gathering, and other sensitive missions. US analysts are also investigating whether Russia supplied the intelligence used to identify the Riyadh facility. Some officials remain cautious, noting that Iran may have intended to strike the US Embassy as a whole rather than specifically targeting the CIA station located within the compound. Others believe very few countries possess both the intelligence capabilities and the strategic motivation to identify and support attacks against such highly sensitive US facilities. Former CIA station chief Daniel Hoffman said closer military cooperation between Russia and Iran makes such assistance plausible. He argued that both countries share a common interest in reducing American influence across the Middle East and other regions where they seek greater strategic control. The investigation remains ongoing as US intelligence agencies continue to assess the available evidence.

    American singer d4vd’s Apple Music account was reportedly hacked after an unauthorised track appeared on his artist profile while he was attending a preliminary court hearing in the murder case linked to the death of teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The incident quickly drew attention online as fans noticed unusual activity on the singer’s streaming page. According to screenshots obtained by TMZ, d4vd’s Apple Music profile briefly displayed a fake song titled I DID IT…, which had not been officially released by the artist. Fans soon linked the track to an unreleased demo believed to be called Celeste, sparking widespread speculation across social media. Although the demo was never officially released, listeners recognised parts of its lyrics. One of the lines reportedly heard in the leaked track reads, “Oh Celeste, the girl with my name tattooed on her chest.” The appearance of the song during the ongoing court proceedings further fuelled online discussion surrounding the case. The reported hack came as d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, attended preliminary hearings in Los Angeles Superior Court. Prosecutors are presenting evidence in a case accusing Burke of murdering 13-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was found dead in 2025. He has denied the allegations, and the legal proceedings remain ongoing. During the fourth day of hearings on July 24, prosecutors presented text messages exchanged between Burke and Rivas Hernandez in January 2024. The messages reportedly discussed a pregnancy and abortion. According to court records, Rivas Hernandez wrote, “Both of us aren’t able to take care of it.” Burke allegedly replied, “I know but still.” Prosecutors displayed the messages as part of the evidence supporting the case against the singer. Authorities allege that Rivas Hernandez was killed in April 2025 at Burke’s Hollywood Hills home. Her remains were discovered several months later, in September 2025, inside a Tesla registered to the singer. Following an investigation, officials ruled her death a homicide. Burke was arrested on April 17, 2026, nearly a year after investigators concluded that the teenager had been killed on April 23, 2025. He now faces murder charges, and the case continues to move through the court system. The unauthorised upload on his Apple Music profile has added another layer of public attention to an already high-profile legal case, though there is no indication that the singer was connected to the apparent hack.
